Deserves more views, this is GOLD, thanks for the upload Dorian Yates and Tom Platz are my mentors when it comes to training, different training styles when it comes to rep ranges, but both go to/past the limit, and both are great speakers also.
That used to be standard mate. 20 years ago, when you got to the point in the set where you thought you couldn’t do any more……we’d say 3 more reps! That’s why you don’t get the physiques you used to and I’m talking quality not quantity. These guys Dorians training are simply going through the motions, there’s no passion or real hunger. No clue. All the gear no idea.
@David Galton - That's how Dorian got the granularity in his physique as well. Training to (or past) failure with heavy weight conditioned his muscles like a motherfucker. Yates was an absolute beast.
Mr. Yates always says not about throwing heavy weigjts while he was a tank pressing 4 plates on each side!!! BUT people have to understand he built himself to that with hard work. He was doing all those poundages with perfect form!! A freak with amazing genetics
im blessed to actually have THE nautilus pullover in my gym, Ultraflex in Durham England, owned my Anth Bailes, a ex training partner/student ( he is one of Dorians HIT training specialists. He trains with Leroy Davis, Dorian's training partner in the blood and guts videos, its a privilege to use that equipment.
Jesus…….the youngsters don’t know the meaning of hard work anymore do they? They simply don’t like being taken out of their comfort zone. When I was training guys down at CTCRM, the recruits coming in from the new generation were dropping like flies, at a much faster rate than say 20 years ago. Different breed. You see it in the gyms today.; this new generation are literally too afraid to enter the dark side and train properly ie throwing up and passing out after squats etc. That used to be standard! These guys……all the gear no idea lol. Your man Dorian though…….top bloke, but a dying breed sadly.
