The Thai people in this comment section are unaware of their roots Bokator is older than Muay thai so pls do not try to make fun of bokator or RU-vid will ban you for abusing rule 124: Misinformation about others culture
There still has been no clear mentions of Bokator came from in any Cambodian ancient history archives, whys that, was it because the Khmer Rough burned them all, and if so, how exactly did you "Grandmaster" manage to rebuild it, from the Ankor walls?
@@gunchuikov9845it's San Kim Sean who bring it back.During the Khmer Rouge, anyone who practice traditional arts were exterminated so a lot of them stop teaching and hid.
For Thai who is unaware of their roots. I can assure you Siam (Thailand) is 785 years old. By the time 75 BC which was about 2100 years ago Khmer had ruled over of most Southeast Asia. I can confirm you that Tai had a Chinese writing style. The new of Thai script was copied from Khmer script and modified. Thailand embraced 99.99 percent of Khmer culture. Khmer Martial Arts have been practicing for thousands of years but photos available around 1900s. In Google type"Cambodian Boxing 1920 Photos" and see the Khmer original in 1923. Thailand/ Thai is new name since 1939. Siam have two ancestors. There was one from the native Khmer and the other from China. Tai Tribe were a group of refugees from south of China fled their homeland after attacked by the Mongols in the years 1205 - 1279. They settled in the ancient Khmer kingdom in year 1238 after begged the Khmer to protect them from the army of Mongols. If a Thai of Khmer origin wants to find his roots and culture it is within the ancient Khmer kingdom of Kampuchea, Kampuchea Krom, Thailand and Laos. If a Thai of Chinese origin (Tai) wants to find its roots and culture it is in the south of China. Check out if southern China has any culture including traditional music, clothing, dance, musical instruments, martial arts and the writing style that is similar to the ancient kingdom of Khmer.
Really want to learn Bokator for a little fun challenge for myself and to mix with my left handed boxing knowledge, wish to get to a high level some time
Bokator is an ancient battlefield martial art used by ancient Khmer military groups. It is one of the oldest existing fighting systems originating from Cambodia. Oral tradition indicates that bokator was the close quarter combat system used by the ancient Cambodian armies before the founding of Angkor, With its roots steeped deep in history - carvings of bokator fighters can be found in abundance on the walls of Angkor Wat - the martial art was crafted by Angkorian armies to help the Khmer Empire keep its grip on the region from the 9th to 15th centuries. The test of time has seen bokator fade into the shadows of other martial arts, such as Cambodian kickboxing (kun Khmer) or neighbouring Thailand’s Muay Thai. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) added the Cambodian martial art of kun lbokator, more popularly known as "bokator," to its list of humanity's intangible cultural heritage, @Sahara now you should know better 😉

bokator or Kun Khmer what they said today are original and the father of Muay Thai. The reason I said that bc there a carving of ancient Cambodia warriors using the martial arts to fight against the enemies from 9 centuries to 15 centuries. Years later the UNESCO put bakator or Kun Khmer in the book but if they not it's would be a dead martial art (sorry I don't know how to explain the UNESCO parts)
