I hate to tell you this. First, I have been rescuing cats for 40+ years. I have a 501 C3 nonprofit cat rescue. That cat that you just trapped looked very healthy. It also looks extremely clean. So either it’s pregnant and a female or belongs to someone.
It doesn’t belong to anyone. She lives on my land and she was pregnant. She is healthy because she eats all of the mice and rats on my land. She and her kittens still come around from time to time. They don’t bother me or my livestock and we don’t bother them. They are free to come and go as they please.
I’m not an expert, just sharing my two cents. Don’t feed her to regularly because you want her to be hungry enough to want to catch mice and rats. If she full she won’t have a need to catch them.
@@brownsugarhomestead It depends on the card actually. My Will said cats still chase and Hines the mice and moles. They’ll bring them to me and they will unalive them. However they won’t eat them!
I clicked so fast on this video. My cat was hit and killed 1/1/24 &since I've had horrible mice problems. I'm about to get a few barn/working cats too!! Mine was just like yours, watched over my chickens❤
That cat hoodie hoo line was crazy, but you actually looking around to make sure had me weak Unc.....you can never be too careful ESPECIALLY with cats 😂😂😂
The sign to look for though is when they start bringing you random dead stuff or still alive if they really like you. 😂 Is a backhanded compliment because the basically telling you. "I don't think you can feed yourself so here you go... friend"
She may have babies out in the woods she needs to suckle. That's the only thing I fear. I've raised many kittens from my cat and watched her have over 10 litters of kittens during the 9 years I had her. My parents let me have her as a kitten when I was 6 years old, and I learned so much about cats from that time, until she was killed by the neighbors pit bulls. Lead, I wouldn't have put the food in the trap, but rather outside the trap, then open the trap and walked away. She's either going to stay or leave. You really didn't need the trap, as she was a frequent visitor already. My only concern is, she may be 'knocked up', or she may have already 'dropped' her litter. From the video, I can't tell, but just recently, there was this cat that was coming to our front door and begging. We fed her every time she came back, and she got bigger and bigger. She then disappeared for awhile. She came back skinny, but begging again. She actually took me to her babies in a falling apart garage across the street and about 50 yards away. Just something to think about brother.
She is pretty. I have a feral Miss Kitty in my property. I wasn’t sure what to feed her. So I ask a vet and she told me tuna , chicken. turkey. She also said don’t give her milk it can cause diarrhea and vomiting. Cats are the best hunters in my opinion.
For sure, most people don't know but cats are quite lactose intolerant. They love love milk though. I've been giving my cat probiotics (treats)and he goes crazy for them. Got them it Walmart/Petco.
Brother God has a weird sense of humor, and everything happens for a reason. From my experience living in the middle of nowhere. It's great to be able to hear your pets give you a (hey yo danger is nearby) without putting yourself in harms way. Giving you the heads up to deal with the problem accordingly. commensalism *They get food and attention *You get a deterrent and mobile alarm system.
Hi Lead! You are right, that is a pretty kitty. Love the name. I have a couple kitties, people dumped near my property. If my dog is not walking with me those 2 kitties walk with me. My little guard kitties 😅
The trap was set not for cats. They just happened to go inside and get caught. Don’t worry. I set them free. That’s why I have a live trap instead of a death trap
When you said you’d deal with it if there ends up being too many cats, I couldn’t help but ask to please get her fixed. Not sure what it’s like there but you can find low cost clinics in my area
