One last question, did you really do 5x5 2 years without switching programs?

No, I did it for several months, then full body and then push/pull 4 days a week

Hey I saw your 5x5 stronglifts video and saw you doing Bent over Barbell rows instead of pendley rows. Do you have a reason for this or would you recommend this?

No reason to be honest, I'll often mix it up every few months, for instance, I was doing t-bar rows up until recently, now doing single arm dumbbell rows. Some variations are a little easier on the lower back too.

@@pjdexter168 do you think it's ok to add a back day on Saturday for example, because I don't think the back is targeted really much in 5x5. My back is my weakest point btw

@@owenvma8088 Sure, with 5x5 you're doing deadlifts which hit the back, and bent over rows, so two excellent compound lifts that do target the back. You could certainly add a back day if you wanted to on a Saturday. I'd personally do pull ups for 4 sets, if you're unable to perform them with good form, then grab a resistance band to help build your strength. T-Bar rows 4 sets, then finally do 4 sets of single arm dumbbell rows. So total of 12 sets, that'll be more than enough especially as you're starting out. As you progress with 5x5 and weight gets heavier, you may find that doing the Saturday is too much and you may want the whole weekend as recovery. Get 5x5 down for a few weeks first, learn the movement patterns and keep good form, then throw in the Saturday and see how you progress.
