Yeah you'll find the XC services use the diversion line going around Didcot to go to Reading and then the rest of the country

It's all down to track access rights, should XC want to extend their services they would need to contact the ORR for permission to run their trains across the section of the network

The car train you saw could have been a GBRF 66 in that case as there was one due to pass through Leamington Spa just after 12 in the afternoon. I'm hopeful that the next time I go out I manage to catch a 70

I think the wind wouldn't have been so bad if the station was better protected from the elements. But I guess that just adds the charm to the place

So on the 10th of August 2017 London midland lost its rail franchise

I don't know because they bid for West Midlands trains to take over the West Midlands franchise

And in 2 years time virgin trains will end on the 31st of March 2019

Well to be honest London Midland have done a great job in my eyes since they took over from Silverlink. They have introduced many more services with greater seats and comfort than the 321, although they brought in the 319's for the Watford Junction to St Albans Abbey branch which didn't really make much sense to me. But London Midland have really raised their game since they first came in and in the final few years they have been putting in the effort to maximise the opportunities that come out of the WCML. I can only hope that West Midlands Trains do a better job now and don't go changing the set up to much

From what I understand you will be given driver training on all trains depending on the company that you sign up to be with. So with Great northern you may very well end up working on 365/700/321/317 and 378 units depending on the work that have set up for you during the day

It will be sometime next year but as to when that will be I'm not completely sure. However once I know what I will be doing I will definitely be letting you know. That way I'm hopeful we can get something organised and will have to chance to meet you which would be a great privilege on my part. Plus I haven't been to your city before so it would be really nice to see the sights and sounds. And obviously the local cuisine :D

I live in Amsterdam Noord and almost outside of Amsterdam. Amsterdam North is over het IJ and is often called a town in the city. Love to get to meet you and you say us so someone will join you? I look forward to meeting you. Maybe my son will join me watching trains. If you want to know something ask me, but you know for all those years you can :)

What I'm thinking is sometime during the later half of winter/early spring to come over. I'll most likely get a flight over and look for a reasonably priced hotel possibly in the centre of the city. It would just be me coming :) Once I know all of the details obviously I will let you know :)
