Long CSX freight train interrupts festival at end of parade. Locomotive power move, brand new Electro Motive Demonstrator locomotives with 7 engines on huge manifest train! The Demonstrator locomotives were being tested on CSX and they had Union Pacific Railroad paint livery. I filmed this September 10, 2016 in Walton Kentucky on the CSX LCL Short Line. The first train went through right after the parade ended and people were still all over the railroad crossing. The next train went through while we were riding the horse drawn wagon. We go there every year for their parade and I always pick this spot because I have NS on the line behind me and CSX on the line in front. 3 years in a row CSX has run a train through during the festival or parade!

The town would normally notify the railroad about the festival, and the railroad would then issue a slow order to its crews. CSX will run anything with anything. They had the 2 SD70ACe demonstrators and an old SD40-2 on that train along with GE DASH-8's and an SD70MAC.

I love a good train, as long as I'm not in a hurry when one goes through. This was cool. Don't get to see demonstrators up here in Wisconsin, we see fresh paint once in awhile, but those were nice units. The car carriers are only seen between Illinois, with regular CN trackage stops in between to the west Neenah main line, then continuing West Northwest, through cities and towns to Minnesota. Wisconsin has no car carrier facilities that I know of. There are no intermodal distribution yards here either that I know of. Up in Green Bay here, we get strict freight trains only. The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is the end of the line for most CN trains.

I have been to Michigan as far north as Grand Rapids but I have never been to Wisconsin or Minnesota. I was told there is a circus train in Wisconsin from a museum or something that runs a couple times a summer. I want to see that some day. I hope you enjoy my videos. Great video and great catch! Not sure if you noticed, but the lead unit is the Spirit of Louisville (You can see the tiny lettering toward the bottom right of the cab) I saw this unit back in March and I had no idea until I googled the unit after I noticed the unreadable lettering haha. Nice catch with the 2 demonstrator units too and happy New year

That train is a mix of everything. CSX locomotives. BNSF cars, Ferromex, CN, KCS d Mexico, Union Pacific, Norfolk southern....

No, that's Union Pacific paint with the words "Union Pacific" replaced by "ElectroMotive." BNSF is orange, not yellow.

Is this the same line that rolls right there just beyond the Pilot truck stop up there at Richwood and then crosses over that huge high-rise viaduct by the weigh station if you're going down towards Lexington just outside of Walton?
