In this Trainz Railfanning video, we'll be visiting a large fictional town I made in Trainz Railroad Simulator 2019. This town has several railroad crossings. There are some where the trains travel in a divided highway at high-speed crossing many modern grade crossings. There are also a lot of rural railroad crossings where the trains travel slowly. Both lines lead to a city. The rural line leads to an Amtrak station and small train yard. This city also has a lot of railroad crossings and Tramway crossings. The mainline also runs through the city, but is elevated over the city streets to avoid railroad crossings. This city will have a lot of skyscrapers.
Timestamps:
0:48: A CSX GP38-2 leads a work train towards the historic rural line, which runs through the town. The TRC railroad crossings are programmed to turn off when a train stops in front of it, which USUALLY works pretty well.
3:30: Two UP Big Boy 4000 Class 4-8-8-4 Articulated locomotives race each other down the mainline. Police cars block the railroad crossing, which aren't working, for safety reasons.
5:30 The Union Pacific F.E.F. 4-8-4 leads another F.E.F. 4-8-4 and an SD70M as it races a Union Pacific Big Boy 4000 Class 4-8-8-4 Articulated locomotive.
9:16 Another Union Pacific F.E.F 4-8-4 locomotive runs down the mainline.
11:32 A Union Pacific 4-6-6-4 Challenger races down the mainline
15:17 A CSX GP40-2 leads a local train down the rural line across a rusty Griswold railroad crossing with no bell, since it located close to some people's houses. This line leads right into the city. A BNSF SD70MAC can be seen pulling a train of bethgons down the mainline in the background.
19:11 A Burlington Northern SD60M pulls a slow mixed freight train down the mainline.
22:13 A CSX AC4400CW leads an autorack train on the rural line across six-lane FEC-style railroad crossing.
27:42 An N&W Y6B articulated locomotive leads a mixed freight train on the mainline across the only remaining rural crossing on the mainline. This crossing was built before the two 2-way streets were converted to a divided highway.
29:10 An NKP ES44AC is lead by several NKP steam locomotives as they pull some cabooses down the rural line. The FEC crossing was removed because it stopped working. I couldn't find any six-lane TRC crossings.
31:50 A Norfolk Southern AC44C6M two Norfolk Southern C40-9W's and an autorack train past a divided highway crossing with wishbone gates on the rural line. When this road was widened to a divided highway, they had planned to upgrade the crossing, but public outcry led to them keeping the crossing. But in an attempt to lengthen the gate, they found that they didn't have any 4-lane wishbone gates in their roster, so they built another replica sign on the left sides of both roads.
39:53 An SP GS4 locomotive leads a Daylight train down the rural line across a 4-lane road in the downtown area, where most of the apartments are located.
41:51 an Amtrak F40PH leads a train of Amfleet cars in the downtown area across the last functional wig wag railroad crossing in town.
42:48 An Amtrak P32-8BWH leads a train of Superliners across a rusty Griswold crossing. This is the only Griswold crossing on town to have a bell.
45:40 An Amtrak P42DC leads a Superliner train through a switch located in the residential part of town. This Griswold railroad crossing is located in an alley and two tacks merge into one here. The cantilever makes it easier to see the railroad crossing despite the houses being so close to the road. An SP GS4 leads a Daylight Train across the other switch moments later.
49:03 An Amtrak Siemens Charger SC44 leads a Superliner train across one of two modern-style crossings on the rural line. Moments later, a Union Pacific Big Boy 4000 Class 4-8-8-4 Articulated Locomotive leads a long freight train across the same crossing.
54:47 An Amtrak F40PH leads a short local train of Horizon coaches across the only railroad crossing on the rural line with a continually-ringing bell. This road, Station Ave, leads straight to the Amtrak Station. Moments later, a Western Pacific F7A and F7B lead a short passenger train through the same crossing.
57:47 Now take ride through the town in the passenger view and ride the Horizon cars on the rural line.
