I hear ya, I think the key is just to keep at it. And even if you make what you think is an awesome song, but no one notices it, at least your happy with it. Thats what counts.
I was like this for ages but I kept at it. I just kept messing around with reason and watched masterclass's and tutorials, eventually I created a library of sounds that I use now. Im still not fully informed but im getting there. It takes years! Enei got his 1st release after 5 years I think. So.. Just keep at it.
Awesome sharing your thoughts like that. I wish more people that have figured things out in their walk of life gave back. Also, I think I'm clinically addicted to this song. Going on 30 repeats or so. Help. :-)
I felt like that for a long time aswell. I would have amazing ideas but they would never sound like I wanted them to when i got them down. But even though they sounded rubbish to begin with, I was still having fun making them. After constantly experimenting and making loads of tunes you'll pick up new skills and things will start to sound a little more like how you want to them. Could take years, could take just months; Just depends on how determined you are :)
I've been fiddling around with ableton for years, making hiphop beats before I really started producing. If you enjoy making music (no matter how bad it is at first), then knowledge and experience will come, just keep at it. My 2 cents.
I had exactly the same problem. But at some point i just decided to start. Of course my music sucked at the beginning, and i'm far away from professional. But I've made a start and all i can do now is grow better. I mean, there's nothing to lose so why not at least try? :)
