The voice acting with Edward is amazing. Like this is he first time he actually sounds truly upset with Gordon, Henry, and James. Like he sounds like a father who is totally disappointed with his sons. To be honest, that ultimatum Edward gave actually sounded more threatening than Hatt did.
Same! As far is I'm concerned, Henry is pretty much the only one with common sense. Despite still being a cynical sod you can tell being shut up in a tunnel for two weeks has affected him. And you can tell how guilty James feels considering he recently just impressed Sir Topham Hatt by pulling the Express, feeling like he is now betrayed him after being forced to go on strike with Gordon and Henry. You can tell he is the one that is gonna regret it the most when they're being shut up.
I really like how Henry is trying to be reasonable with this whole Strike thing while James fears he might get send away to be scrapped, this really shows that each character has their own personality and not just showing one side in each of them.
trampy dose a way better job with character building then the hit era did almost every new character they made barely had anything to note about other then being shy lazy or an unlikeable buck tooth freak.
@@karenfan010 Kinda makes you wonder if Thomas & Friends was rebooted into a semi-adult show aired on Adult Swim instead of this Total Dramarama clone aired in god knows what channel?
Not to mention, the actual thing just has James and Henry as Gordon's blind yes-men. Here, they're reluctant to strike and only join because he manages to persuade them.
I LOVE that Henry remembered the LAST time he went on strike, before finally giving in to Gordon's plan. Same with James acknowledging his recent progression, though they both agree to the strike, they were still self-aware. Even chiding Gordon on the near-immediate failure of their strike.
I like how Gordon is just straight up the villain in your interpretation of these stories, will probably make his eventual redemption a lot more satisfying
Putting this here too: Let me be honest. I love your reinterpretation of the Railway Series and Thomas and friends in general. First, it's so much more mature. I'd go so far as even say adult. Not in the adult way a lot of shows nowadays try to be. Not by throwing a swear or curse in every sentence but by actually being adult. Which leads into the characters. They all feel real yet true to their characters. Thomas is immature, frustrated, and impatient but instead of it coming from him being a 'cheeky' engine, it all comes from a sense of not being appreciated. Hell, you can't even blame him. Even in his introduction the other engine's seem more annoyed by his very existence than anything. Edward is the only one who treats them with any semblance of understanding and respect. Speaking of, Edward being old in the stories translates into a character who is understanding of everyone and their character traits and flaws. He comes off as more of a father figure than even Sir Toppham Hat/The Fat Controller. It's clear his experience has taught him life lessons which he carries through to the present. He's more of a guiding hand to everyone and he does it because he knows it's the right thing to do. As pointed out in the very first episode, it doesn't matter if he's not thanked, just that he did it. The conversation between him and Thomas about Gordon in 'Tricked' is without a doubt one of the most heartfelt conversations not only in this series but in any piece of media I've watched lately. Then there's Gordon himself. Strong, powerful, and, fast. Arrogant, lazy, patronizing. By all accounts, I should hate this version of Gordon. I've hated characters in all the forms of stories for less. But the Big Blue engine is written and acted so well you can't help but like him even if you don't like his actions. Plus he constantly pays for his arrogance. Sure, that was a key point theme in the original stories but things like his safety valve breaking being actively his fault is a bit of narrative brilliance. Speaking of narrative brilliance, James being a nervous, insecure guy with something to prove is something I have to applaud. He's enthusiastic like Thomas, a braggart like Gordon, and is the third smallest tender engine of all of them. He lets the little mistakes get under his skin as it were leading to making bigger ones. I also love how he's pretty much excluded amongst the other engines. Like it's clear he's really the odd one out. Henry talks over him. Gordon calls him little James, which must sting since he is strong enough to pull the express. And ironically enough, he is the least experienced tender engine on the yard. His naïveté shows when he takes Gordon on his word for a lot which leads to interesting moments when Henry corrects him. In contrast with Thomas who isn't appreciated, James certainly doesn't feel respected. He's mocked constantly and wants to take every opportunity to prove himself and show off. Him essentially getting bullied into joining the strike after just managing to pull the express kind of shows how he's just not taken seriously. Also him saying 'I hope you crash and die, you sick cow' to Henry I think is going to be a very interesting character interaction once we get into a certain episode that I am personally looking forward to. Speaking of... I just love how you made Henry not give a crap. Like he calls out everyone on their nonsense and is just absolutely brutal. He calls it as he sees it which I think is kind of fitting to his character because he has to deal with reality. The reality of him not being a very good steam engine is pretty clear from episode one when his mishaps are brought up. You've been building up his sickness for a while and is a good bit of writing. It's clear Henry cannot afford to have any sense of delusional grandeur, or be able to sit up on any kind of arrogance beyond his strength which he can't really use. Honestly he seems kind like the guy who knows he's running on borrowed time and just takes the moments as they come. Even if it leads to some poor decision-making. I really don't have much more to say about him though, not until we have a few more episodes at least. Finally, I love what you did with the troublesome trucks. They come off as less malicious in this version. Only acting out when someone out and out abuses them such as Thomas and James up to this point. Gordon's the only one who has been able to bump them around and not get bumped back. I just love this whole series and I hope you know how much this reignited a love for Thomas the tank engine for me. Wishing you well in this.
3:30 Then James Joined-In To The Laughing and Teasing Crowd. James: "Ahhahahaha. *sigh* Oh, My Gordon, Looks Like, You've Had a Little Problem With Getting on The Turntable, Huh?" Gordon: "Don't You Laugh at Me, James. You Might Have The Same Problem, If You Knew, How Windy, It Is." James: "Oh, Please. I Would Never Have That Problem. I'm Not So Fat as You. Hahahahahaa." The Children: *Laughing*
What I love here is how Edward's "black wheeling" is depicted compared to the original story. In the original Edward agreeing to shunt the coaches broke the strike but the poor treatment of him was what spurred Percy's purchase. He's still working among the strike here but he had much more of an active role in the story, showing off just how ridiculous the reason for their strike really is, because like he says, "Gordon we were built to work." It's only further shown off after Edward leaves to get Topham and it's revealed Gordon never had a plan of any sort, and how disastrous it goes when his hypocrisy after speaking with Topham shows Henry and James how stupid this idea really was. Edward wants them to be better and is willing to give them a chance but he also knows that that sometimes harsh consequences are needed for them to learn a lesson. But it all comes to a head beautifully because Edward and Thomas are then called to take over the work while the big engines are shut up, but Topham knows that them alone won't be able to cover all of it, especially since Thomas now runs a branch line. And THIS, this is why he gets Percy, to manage the Ffarquhar branch, and show that the railway can get along just fine without them. Topham takes into account how Edward was treated by the big engines like in the original story, but now it's through acknowledgement of how he shouldn't be overworked just because they made it difficult for him, and does his best to ease the pressure a bit. It shows how Topham rewards dedication and hard work by showcasing how he appreciates the engines who do that work and he will help them any way he can, which Gordon is still blind to. Also I do think James' stint on the turntable could've been included, maybe with Henry trying to show them up and using the turntable perfectly before derailing when he tries to get off too quickly. Their frustrations could've been used to make it easier for Gordon to manipulate them into joining his strike. However I can see why it and Henry and the Elephant were cut, and who knows, maybe it'll follow _T&F_ and be involved in a story further down the line.
Gordon's plans to get what he wants are always just childish tantrums disguised with pompous wording. He wants everything handed to him, so when he doesn't get that, he blames everyone else, even when it's painfully obvious he was the reason things fell apart. Textbook narcissism. "Everyone else is in the wrong, I can't possibly be. I'm perfect."
@@primrosevale1995 That's another thing. He's completely delusional. He thinks he's got this big reputation when all he does is run an express route that's only about 87 miles long on a rather small escapist island. Compared to Flying Scotsman's tenure, that's laughably minimal.
@@theholygamer969 Another bit of subtle brilliance. The events of the first six Railway Series books take place in the 1920s and 30s. Percy joined the railway in 1926. If the engines were human, Gordon would be a toddler during the events of this arc. Gordon's a big baby.
Edward's telling the big engines off- especially his disappointment in James- was brilliant. The one engine in the yard with the brain cell. It's nice havin Thomas and his snark back after a nice break, and that little bit where he reunites with Edward was delightful. And, at long last, ITS PERCY TIME you're absolutely spoiling us with these long eps
what sucks is that the only james episode after this is we’re he crashes into tar wagons which means he’ll never get a chance to redeem himself after this.
Gordon, James, and Henry are literally Moe, Larry, and Curly from The Three Stooges and I love it. I also love the cold opening, poor George and Charlie having to deal with Gordon's crap. The part where Edward sees that Thomas has returned and they catch each other up on what's been happening was so wholesome. Also, the 20 minute runtime, at this rate the movie of "Paint Pots and Queens" is gonna be an hour. Again, these get better with every installment. Keep it up, Kyle, but like Topham said, "Let's not overwork ourselves."
I love the line deliveries in this! Gordon accidently admitting he wasnt trying was pretty funny, the way edward asked what the engines are doing was so unintentionally funny, james saying “oh my god we’re dead” was so funny to me, espcially paired up with that custom nervous face you made for him, and thomas accepting to come back to tidmouth because gordon is a pouty crybaby was just hilarious, its also nice to finally see the green caterpillar make his debut in the series.
This was great! I especially love the relationship between Thomas and Edward in this. The way that the two meet each other again is like two old friends reuniting after being away for a long time, and I love that. Plus, the reused Unlucky Tug Sodor's Finest on Percy lines at the end was a real surprise to me, and it was really the icing on the cake. I'm really looking forward to seeing how Percy will interact with the other characters!
well because he only recently just proved himself that sir topham hatt he didn’t want to betray him like that honestly he needs to cut gordon and henry out of his life there only going to keep getting into more trouble.
Exactly, James really means no harm in this series, and yet the poor fellow gets forced to do this whole strike. not to mention how SCARED James is when he communicated with The Fat Director/Sir Topham Hatt.
One of my favourite things about your movies is Gordon. You really managed to make him disgustingly manipulative to the other engines. This ironically makes him look powerful compared to the other engines, which is what he self-stands for. We first had him trying to make Edward doubtful of himself in the first movie, then we have him calling the engines little during the movies, as if seeming like someone caring but also like sweettalking as well, then him trying to gaslight Thomas into believing he actually didn't know that Thomas was coupled behind his train in "Tricked", and now the strike, where he coerces James and Henry into participating in the strike, and you can even see the manipulation he's doing when James and Henry are doubting this to be a good idea, and genuinely starting to believe Edward, before Gordon makes them go to his side again with reasons that may seem right when you look through James and Henry's POV, but when you look at it from your own POV, you know it's just nonsensical reasoning. I shouldn't be loving this version of Gordon, but I am.
Best thing about "Tricked": Gordon could easily have gotten away with it because Thomas brought it on himself in a sense. Thomas delayed the Express and mouthed off to the Fat Controller. Gordon banked on the fact that he had to rush and deliberately set off before Thomas could be uncoupled.
Gordon letting slip that he wasn’t seriously trying to line himself up on the turntable and his freak out when he has to pull the express backwards was really funny!
Very interesting to see your take on the strike. I was simply just expecting Tenders and Turntables but you got straight to the point with pulling the express backwards sparking the strike and having the other engines doubt his idea compared to James spinning like a top and Henry’s elephant incident. Also the introduction to Percy feels sadder than I thought it would be. His old owner simply dumped him there. I love how unique you’ve made these Trampy Movies when compared to the source materials!
I like how James is peer pressured into the strike rather than joining the strike due to the "turntable incident". Feels a little more unique. Although i would have loved to see how you would have handled that scene. Maybe in the future or a flashback or something. Still, Amazing movie as always and great writing!
I genuinely love how this follows the Railway Series timeline but, aside from the swearing, has an Adventure Begins vibe. Not only that, but James more or less being pressured into the strike is better than the "James redeems himself but is now a dick" approach that Awdry had. James has spent all of his time trying to be like the big engines. A bit like the kid who hangs with bullies to look cool, but their peers know they're a poser and pick on them just as much as their target. James is a deeply insecure engine and has only just proven himself to the Fat Controller. Even the buildup to the strike in the previous videos. You took Brenner's decision to have Gordon object to Thomas getting a branch line, and the Fat Controller saying he's getting another engine, and expanded on it so much. Henry and Gordon complaining about shunting their own trains, James admitting that he hates it too after reconciling with Gordon. Even the Fat Controller being pestered for a new engine. It was always implied that Percy only joined the railway as a result of the strike, but considering how much of a bastard Gordon is here, the Fat Controller won't give him the satisfaction of thinking he got his way. Love this!
I loved the reaction Edward had when Thomas came back to the yard. It’s like seeing one of your childhood best friends in a coffee shop after not seeing them in ages. Great work as always Trampy! Can’t wait for Percy’s introduction! Keep it up!
This was by far the best Trampy Movie you made. The beginning was the funniest way to open the episode with and having Henry and James not fully on board to go on strike makes sense since they both caused trouble in past episodes and had chances to redeem themselves to Sir Topham Hatt. It was really funny that they got so pissed at Gordon that the strike failed. Also seeing Thomas again in this movie was amazing and his reunion with Edward was wholesome. If I had to rank this with the other Trampy Movies, I would have to put it in A tier along with Runaway. Keep up the amazing work Trampy
It’s…interesting, because honestly Gordon makes a good point. It is substantially harder for large tender engines to shunt their own trains. Their visibility is much worse than a tank engine, their wheel diameter limits their torque and acceleration relative to a tank engine, and even their controls require much more movement to accomplish the same task (screw reverser vs lever reverse: the screw needs to be turned a ton to go in reverse, but the lever only has to be pulled). By all accounts, the task will be inherently more difficult for them, and it being additional work, it only makes sense for them to feel overworked. Of course, Edward is right: they are built to work, but Gordon is also right in that not all work works out the same for all engines, and machines are purpose-built for a reason. There’s s good point in what Gordon is saying, but he’s so insufferable and elitist about it (in the most entertaining of ways) that no one wants to concede it. I love that Henry kinda hints at this though, mentioning the constant back-and-forth with no rest, but Gordon’s bluster again overpowers the actually valid point in front of both Edward and STH. It’s a take on the strike that feels more…purposeful, in terms of Gordon’s character development, rather than a critique of striking labor of the 1930s, as awdry did. But, ya know, applying real-world stuff to Thompson and his technicolor choo-choo associates isn’t necessary (but it can be fun)
No one's talking about Thomas's little interaction with the station master. I love how you're already sewing the seeds for Thomas's eventual race and with Bertie, with the detail of Thomas being 16 minutes early. That, and his attitude towards Annie and Clarabelle, really implies a lot about he operates and feels about his branch line. 👌 Anyway, that foreshadowing is worth a chef's kiss. haha
The Strike Saga is one of my favorites parts of Season 1. The dialogue in this series is some of the most genuine and realistic I’ve ever seen in a Thomas YT Series. You make this show seem so much more macher. Gordon’s driver shouting at him was already my favorite part, and George ain’t having any of it.
The whole beginning part was hilarious. Once again Thomas and Edward’s friendship feels so genuine, and the ending was handled wonderfully! Can’t wait to see Percy meet the others! Another phenomenal installment!
ok this is without a doubt my favorite trampy movie. the humor, writing, and relationship with the characters is honestly quite nice this movie is probably the funniest one out of all. gordon, james, and henry arguing at the sheds about the strike and them even knowing that the whole idea of the strike was bad in concept was perfect I really liked how you handle james to be at first hesitant abt the strike and even knowing they were gonna lose their own jobs, obv they aren’t but it’s actually kinda nice to see james and henry, morseo james, be the smart and logical one to point out the flaws in the strike. it’s actually a nice character development for him. amazing job on this movie
Jeez, this is one of thr reasons Edward is the true pride of the line. He never complains about jobs giving to him, his wisdom is something the other engines look up to, and he even stood his ground against the three big engines (even bold when he gave Gordon a choice). Another would be even if there were less trains people tend to forget that Edward is a 4-4-0, he's been an express engine in his early career so he along with Thomas will handle the mainline nicely. What do you guys think? Good video.
It was mentioned early on that the trains were too heavy for both Thomas and Edward to work alone and that hatt bought Henry, then Gordon and then James to cover the freight work. Holy heck the amount of work that they'd need to do is immense, the mainline simply couldn't work without them alone.
Cutting out James turntable & Henry’s elephant experiences and reasons for joining the strike to show their hesitation to it was cool still kinda wish we saw the turntable to get more amazing James screaming
You know what? I'm gonna list some things about this movie that I particularly like: -Thomas, when asked to run the main line, specifically thinks about Gordon and doesn't think about James and Henry, as if to imply he's got a bit of a rivalry with/grudge against Gordon. -STH specifically says to Percy that he wants an engine who "never gives up", possibly foreshadowing the events of Percy's Promise. -James and Henry are reluctant to strike, since they've already been put into trouble and have redeemed themselves to STH, with the particular turntable and elephant incidents omitted. -Thomas is complained to about being early and going too fast, which possibly foreshadows both Thomas & Bertie, and Thomas and the Guard. -Thomas, in response to the complaints, compares himself to Henry, which alludes to Henry being late at stations due to his sickness. -Edward and Thomas meeting again is just like old friends who haven't seen each other in a long time, which....yeah, that's what's going on here.
Again, like the Trampy Movies on the James Arc, this is honestly better than the actual episode. I love how you added the fact that James and Henry seems to doubt this strike because they have done lots of good things. Also, 20 minutes is a lot, and I wouldn't mind if you take a break from doing these again doing this for that long of a runtime can be a hassle. Anyways, as always, this is amazing work, and keep up with the great work!!.
@@ciarangleeson2880 Yes, most American switch engines during the steam era were 0-6-0 or 0-8-0 tender engines. The reason for this is most yards are quite large and the trains are quite long, that takes a lot out of an engine so they needed more fuel capacity to work those yards.
i’ve only seen the first five minutes but this episode is awesome so far, and I love how the railway men are given actual names rather than just “the driver” or “the firemen”
Well, some staff members have been given official names, and there are also a few female workers as well as male. Drivers: Bob, Thomas’ driver Charlie Sand, Edward’s driver Peter, Rheneas’ driver Joe, Culdee’s driver Ivo Hugh, Rusty’s driver (As well as his father and son, both named David) Jack Owen, Stepney’s driver Franz, Hugo’s driver (Named after and possibly based on his designer, Franz Kruckenburg) Billy Two feathers, Rainbow Sun’s driver Gilbert Perkins Archie Higginbottom Mr Arkwright Mr Roberts Bob and Dave (Also work as signalmen) Burnett Stone Lily Stone (When she grows up) Firemen: Sidney Hever, Edward’s fireman Ted, Henry’s fireman Signalmen: Mr Edwards Simon Bob and Dave (Also work as drivers) Dave Bert Joe Alan Stationmasters: Galahad Qualtrough (What a name!) Kevin Volley Old Bailey Stacy Jones Porters: Fred Bert Bill Sam Tim Guards: Mr Conducter Junior Mr Rushen (Nancy Rushen’s father) Mr Peter Old Jim Dave Bill Bob Sally Cleaners: Alf Bert Workmen: Albert
@@ciarangleeson2880 isn't Thomas' Fireman hinted at being named Johnny when Charlie is singing that song in the episode where Bertie is trying to chase Edward?
Well, those just happen to be the lyrics of the actual song, so I don’t know. I do, however, have a feeling that Dave the guard might be Nancy’s father. In the annual story “Pantomime Pranks”, Nancy’s father is said to be Gordon’s guard, and while Dave is usually shown to be Thomas’ guard in the magazine stories, it was once mentioned that he sometimes works on night trains with Gordon, so I just connected the dots from there.
One thing that i love in this episode is that Edward is the straight man to the big engines shenanigans, and the drivers just clearly don't like working with their engines, i am really excited to see how you tackle Toby and his chaos
"Listen to us or go out of business" Gordon CLEARLY forgot what STH going out of business would mean for them; auctioned off to someone else maybe less caring, left to rust or scrapped!
In the actual episode, James felt there was not much reason to join the strike. His continued hesitation to join the strike makes it a better story than it actually is.
The worst thing is if Gordon said "its not safe and we could derail" he'd be in the clear. But because he just doesn't like it he's not. I do love this series.
Ok this is hands down one of the best trampy movies. The repetitiveness of the turntable trouble and the crew suddenly yelling makes the scene all the more enjoyable. I also really like how the big engines discuss whether the strike is a good decision, especially with James. Speaking of which, it was hilarious when in the middle of the strike he quietly said "we're dead". The use of stock images was also a nice addition too. Plus you're edits are getting a lot better. Amazing work! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
You know, up until recently, I kinda thought that the first episode, Edward, was kinda... disconnected? Don't get me wrong, it was good, but it took me a while to get its importance in relation to the rest of the series. Edward (the episode) established that Edward had been in relative disue for a while - long enough to even begin doubting his own capabilities. It's an experience that none of the other engines had (save for Henry, though his state of disuse was short and his OWN fault, not a result of changing times). I think this is why Edward never complains and is always encouraging others towards the same - he took that past experience to heart, and no matter how difficult or even menial the present tasks may be, he still chooses to be grateful to have any task at all. Not sure how far into the original series you intend on going, but if you ever get around to Edward's Exploit, I could die happy.
Probably the reason you felt it was disconnected was because before Trampy movies existed, Trampy did a much shorter version of the Edward movie, where I *think* the point was to show what it’d be like if Thomas was the annoying character that nobody liked and Edward was the respectable main charcter everyone loved or something?
I was legitimately so hopeful that James was gonna defect from the strike even though I knew what was gonna end up happening. Excellent stuff as always!
The man made the railway work with Two. Locked one of his engines up in a tunnel, and has been fair to his engines the whole time, understanding their problems as their manager. Course he’s like that, cause the board, and his own investors are constantly breathing down his neck. Had this been any other man, he’d’ve stopped caring about them a looooong time ago. But this is the man we’ve come to know, as the Fat Director. Or, Sir Topham the First. *Wonderful as always my friend, keep up the good work, at your own pace*
When Sir Topham Hatt bought Percy at the end, not only was I cheering but Percy’s Theme from Thomas Reorchestrated was playing in my head! Can’t wait to see more of Percy, and it was a welcome surprise to see Thomas again!
I love the last part where you included the opening from the Unlucky Tug's Percy Video! This whole series and headcanon has been phenomenal! Keep up the fantastic work!
I am a bit surprised that we didn't get to see Henry and the elephant, or James spin around the turn table, but I don't think they were needed, this is actually very well written and well thought out. This might now be my favourite of the episodes you have done so far, please don't stop making amazing content!
Words can’t start to explain how absolutely amazing this series and especially this episode is. The dialogue is some of the funniest I’ve heard in a while, and every character has somehow become more developed than the actual show. The quality of these episodes are starting to become that of an actual show and I am so happy that this series exists. Keep up the amazing content.
13:53 James: We’re gonna lose our Jobs 🙁 13:55 Henry: we’re not gonna lose our Jobs we’re freaken die, thank you Gordon 😠 13:58 Gordon: We’re not gonna lose our jobs and not gonna die! Pull yourself together I can’t stand Gordon’s Face, he sounds like the president🤣🤣
@@carterher8082 Gordon is such a prick! And I love it!! 🤣🤣 The characters are at their peak! It's like series 5's edition to series 1 in terms of tone and character interactions
It’s like the presidents colleagues messing up and not working with the president and losing their dignity 🤣🤣🤣🤣 13:41 Well it’s not my fault, that you two stood there like scared puppies 🐶 🐶
I absolutely love this movie everything about it is perfect, I really like the opening a lot as well as the crews and workers having names instead of “the driver or firemen” or “the workmen”. I do really feel bad for James, he was basically being gaslighted by Gordon into doing this without his saying and just when he gained the big man’s respect too. While Gordon does have his moments of kindness he can also be very manipulative giving the situation. It was also nice to see Thomas and Edward reunite as well as the scene where topham purchasing another engine which totally looks like it was pulled from the unlucky tug’s Percy analysts video (witch is a good thing by the way), and how Percys owner just left him here with no explanation as to where or what place he was built is a nice touch as well as Percy saying that his previous controller couldn’t have Percy on his railway because there were too many engines and Percy’s just ok with everything and him being called #6, forgot to add that but I think it is very interesting and does explain how he came to Sodor already with a #6 Also I don’t know if it’s just me but I think Thomas going down the branch really fast might be foreshadowing Thomas and Bertie’s race Your videos just keep getting better and better. Can’t wait to see Percys shenanigans on Sodor
Another banger of an episode, I especially love the scenes with Gordon and George, and James just fearing for his life as he joins the strike. AND we finally get introduced to Percy, his personality and voice are so well done. Great work dude!
In all fairness, Gordon has a point If tender engines do shunt, the tight turns in the yard & the constant change of direction could derail either them or their tenders So it is safer for tank engines to shunt
Another wonderful video! Gordon is definitely the star of this episode. The turntable scene is great, with Gordon "trying," the humans, the children, and how well it works as an intro. Everything with the strike is amazing. The dynamic between Gordon, and Henry and James is great. I like how Gordon manipulates them, and how they try to poke holes in his plan. Their hesitation makes sense considering Henry's tunnel incident and James's arc. Thomas's reasoning for coming back is great, and the Thomas-Edward dynamic continues to be excellent. I loved Percy's introduction and how it throughs in some "Deep Lore." However, I am a little disappointed that Herny and James didn't get their "final straw," considered the hilarious dialogue you could have written for those scenes. But nothing stopping you from adapting them later, right? I mean, the TVS did, so... Anyway great episode, and I look forward to seeing more Percy. Also, 13:41
I just love this episode- James and henry dont just Follow gordon for their own reasons. James really REALLY tries not to give in. But he thinks that he can get what he wants.(Spoiler:He doesn't) I like how the dialogue is realistic for the engines, it really makes a huge difference! Also Percy. Love that edit with STH standing infront of percy at the ending! And love his 'can do it' attitude
I wish you did the scene where Thomas was snarky towards Gordon and him pulling the express backwards. Also can hardly wait to see Thomas meet his best friend next episode!!!!😊
Great new episode, didn’t like Henry and James ending up going along with Gordon’s shenanigans, but on the other hand, seeing them arguing back on fourth on whether or not going on strike was a good idea is pretty funny, lol, and seeing it all go wrong after Topham does indeed shut them up but with a plan already was even more comical. Liked to see Thomas coming back to the spotlight, seems he’s taking his work at his branch line pretty seriously, wonder if this will be explored on the future as well as his coaches not really enjoying that, and his dislike with Gordon only continues, since he did come back partly to pull the Express while Gordon is doing nothing, and seeing Edward going on a full rant about the big engines and damn near knocking them back to their senses, but Gordon’s stubbornness was still just too much. And I’m glad we’ve already been introduced to Percy, interesting take and backstory for him, hope we learn more about it. Anyways, props to all your work as always, be it writing, voicing and editing, you do a superb work, I’m eager to see the following instalments of the series, and take your time as always
what sucks is that james just recently proved himself a credit to the railway and now he’s back we’re he started sir topham hatt probably isn’t gonna let him on the express anymore.
I always loved it when Gordon learns something in each short episode. This made it better, we see how Gordon ends up in these situations, and he really does need to learn a lot because of his huge ego (at least, at this period).
HOLY SHIT 20 MINUTES HELL YEAH. Also I called it even though I didn't say i predicted it. Also i kind of expected James to start crying or smth because he feels stressed into going on the strike.
Man it’s great to finally meet Percy, though honestly I feel bad for James a little bit cause he worked so hard for his chance at the Express only to be peer pressured into going on strike. I hope Sir Topham Hatt isn’t terribly harsh to him
Poor James. Forced into something he doesn’t feel like doing. I feel bad for him. (Mainly because he’s my favorite character in the franchise but still) 😿He doesn’t deserve to be punished.
Best Episode Ever! Definitely on 4 in favourite TM list! 1. Rain 2. Tricked 3. Runaway 4. Strike I completely understand why you're didn't include Henry's encounter with the Circus elephant and James spinning around like a top in the turntable in terms of relevance to the story. I really love your take on James. I really feel bad for him, having to cave to peer pressure due to Gordon's manipulation. And as always I love Edward being the Voice of Reason. I'm surprised you didn't include Thomas taking the piss out of Gordon when he had to pull the next train backwards but the children and Gordon's row between George and Charlie really made up for it. 🤣 Also love Percy's introduction! They seriously need to hire you as Thomas director. Thank you for making Thomas the Tank Engine great again! 😁
Something I cant get over is how very grim and pessimistic Gordon is about Edward's Future, I may need to rewatch the whole series but from what I can remember, Its Gordon that's most consistently mentioning how Edward will end up being the first to ever be scrapped just because of his age, Like especially here when he reasons that No one will get scrapped, But then makes a note to mention Edward as the only one that might be scrapped if the entire railway were to go down under, Even Henry is like "oh-" cus of how unnecessarily grim that quick remark is
Gordon should have been sent away, he's been a horrible engine ever since the beginning, from mocking Edward, being lazy, nearly scarring Thomas by pulling him across the mainline not to mention belittling him, and even going strike
3:30-I can definitely hear Thomas saying this in the background if he was there: “well Gordon none of this would’ve happened if you’d JUST LISTENED and stopped behaving like a big baby you wouldn’t be laughed at by kids for making yourself look like a foolish engine”
I love the beginning with Gordon, Charlie, and George. Charlie is just fucking done with everything, same with George. I love the kids at the station, they’re funnier than the trucks. James and Henry being hesitant to join the strike is interesting, Gordon is borderline manipulative. “No turning back now” said Henry. the description is right, the big engines are fucking idiots, Gordon is the biggest idiot. I love Edward and Thomas’ friendship. Percy’s introduction gives me so much joy, I love his playful, joyful personality. I can’t wait for the next movie! May I have permission to react to this on my channel?
I really like the Strike Saga in Season 1 but to see it made into a Trampy Movie is a lost of words. Can't wait for Trampy Movie 11. Keep up the good work man!
