ReOrder, I just want to say thank you for this. I started trying to produce trance music back in 2006 after I had been djing for a few years and gave up about 4 years later as I didn't have enough knowledge to know all the nuances of everything. Of course, back then RU-vid was barely a thing. I recently got back into Djing and wanted to try my hand at producing again. I purchased FL Studio 21 and started searching for guides and found this video. I wish more producers would take the time to share their knowledge. You are a godsend.
I have to say, that as a producer of many years, I can say that Reorder may have been able to do this in just over an hour and made it look easy, it's taken him 20+ years to learn how to make it look easy. KNOWING that he can achieve a mix down of such quality with such minimal effort has required years of trial and error and failure. Producing trance music can often be a bit of a circular process where you start basic, end up very complex with lots of effects and EQ, and eventually learn how to achieve a better sound with less, just done properly. Knowing that a sub bass should be -2db quieter than the kick, or that the leads sound 'too loud' takes lots of experience. So kudos to ReOrder for sharing this info, it's truly fantastic and motivational to see. Thank you so much!
20 years !!!... and never thought about learning about music and play piano at least? Just imagine the same thing about a cook who, after 20 years, would be able to make fried eggs with chips in only 10 minutes !!!... with no interest about making a "Béarnaise sauce", a "Consommé" or a "Beef wellington" ??? Wouldn't it be a good advise to recommend this audience to include some real music knowledge studies ? As a music producer, you must understand and learn the basic music theory fundamentals like musical notes, intervals, triads, chord formulas, major and minor scales, elements of rhythm and songwriting basics. You can do trance and make good and creative music at the same time you know ! it's not complicated, you just have to become a bit more musician.
@@yanudolwell man - we are here to witness that one doesn’t need to learn all this. Why hold him back in producing with theoretical stuff? He showed already that he can produce without the knowledge you stated.
This is hands down the BEST masterclass I've seen in years. It's not that there's really difficult stuff shown here, but some the tips and fundamentals of the process involved are just gold.
my friend, you saved my life by showing how to to the trance arp sequence, with 3 notes down on the root note, and 1 up, shifting the position of the notes from bar to bar. There are of course many more variations, but I could never figure this one out until now! Great stuff, please keep making those trance tutorials, they are really fantastic! Cheers from Thailand!
I'm completely not a Trance producer, more of a DarkPsy/Forest producer, but I'll take any knowledge the world can give me, and I actually watched all of this in one go on a sleepless night. Thank you so much ReOrder, you have a thing with teaching and captivating an audience, with a simple and clever way of communicating with your audience. Time flew by like nothing, thank you so much!
I absolutely adore this community. Trance is ethereal music for me and, man I have to say this. I have been through pretty bad phase of my life. Been almost 10 years discovering a new hobby and a passion. Lots of fiddling with plugins and software of sorts. Finally settled with this hobby. Invested in a small keyboard. I was introduced to Armin,PvD Aly&FIla,Cosmic Gate,Ferry corsten,Standerwick,Sean tyas, Your @reorderdj gig with Skypatrol etc. Since I was 15.I cannot thank all of you enough. For bringing me back to life! Love the way you guys are keeping the community Uplifted! and now Teaching how the magical music is made! Skylex is my all time fav tracks ever made.I love to play it out loud so my neighbors start humming and shaking their legs to that! Keep up the great noble work of teaching music.
@@reorderdj lego being plain and its up to the producer to add the color etc. Thought it was a really cool way of explaining. Although pretty sure there was only 1 question 😜😁
@@stevecolley7745 If I had painted my Legos, as a kid, I would have been scolded, by my parents. "Thats the last Lego set; I buy you!" lol. But great Class, enjoyed watching this.
that last bit of advice was one of the most well said I've heard- get the bare bones right, but make it your own. "Paint the lego". Very well said! Thank you for the great video!
Filled with absolute gems 💎 Thanks ReOrder as always your videos are so informative!! If anyone hasn't tried any of the master-class courses check em out , you won't be disappointed
Just wanted to reach out and thank you, ReOrder, for this video. I tried my hand at production way back in 2002-2003 (long story) but never really took it forward. After watching this video it inspired me to pick it up again. I've just got Ableton, Serum, and a bunch of your sample packs and patches on patreon and just finished my first production in over 20 years. I can't tell you how much this video has ignited my passion for music all over again, and honestly, it's transformed my approach to production. Thank you so much (and if you are curious) check my bio to see what I came up with after following your advice! Hope it's the first of many
Wow! Just … Wow!!! You‘ve got an impressive workflow. That helps a lot. Thank you very much! You‘ve got a new fan an follower 🥳 Best wishes from germany.
Great upload. Refering to it at the moment especially the bridge part which is one thing I'm struggling with. I forgot all about using suspended notes.
This is amazing - I've learnt so much. I'm literally just starting to get into Trance (both listening to and producing) and I've soooo much to learn, you've really helped me.
Thank you very much, friend! I learned so much from you during this master class) Thanks! You are the best! P.S. I wrote a track based on your video. I haven 't managed such tracks yet )
Fantastic video. Amazing to build it in one hour. You are up there with the trance Gods. Liked it so much I went and got one of your serum packs. Thank you and can we have more like this?
Hooooly crap, that was awesome watching. I recently got back to producing trance from having a long break, still have a long way to go but the journey is the goal, right? =) By far your best track to date is Experience. I heard it the first time about 15 years ago and I can still hear the break in my mind. One of the best breaks I've heard and I've heard many through out the years. Still haven't been able to recreate that sound. :D Thank you for bringing me so much joy with Experience. :)
does anyone know where to get good samples for trance? I mean like those transition effects, I got shitloads of samples but couldn't find very useful ones for trance. PLEASE HELP!! :D Amazing Video btw
Hi im matthew moodie from melbourne Australia and im learning to make good edm with FL studio just wondering if you could help me one on one if possible love this video and maybe we could make a track together. Thanks Matthew
I'm a Trance Producer for more than over 10 Years now , but what makes me stop producing Today's Uplifting Trance , is the Overkill on Layers you obvisualy NEED in Today's Trance Stuff ,, in earlier Tracks from Big Labels Like In Trance We Trust , A State Of Trance etc.. one or two Lead Layers was enough , Two Kind Of Basses was enough ,, some Basic Drums and one or two Perc Loops was enough . But Today u need heaps and heaps of Layers ... Everything so it seems have to have a bunch of Layers Open Hat , Clap , up to 8 Loops , Lead Sound up to 4-6 Layers ,,, Basss : Sub Bass , 6 Mid Basses , Top Bass , Main Bass etc .. and thats the Reason why i love to listen Trance from 2003 to 2007 ,, There where Tracks with a couple of Sounds and they did sound Big and Full and Pro Stated AAAND was released on all the Big Boy Labels .. but now Trance sounds almost the same .. Standard Uplifting , Standard Lead kind of Filtering Saw Sound .. and The Clap,, in Todays Tracks you actually don't need it anymore in the Drop , cause you don't can hear a Clap anymore ...in Earlier Tracks The Clap was whiping through the Drop even .... thats why it takes me the Passion , and the Fun to Produce Trance no longer , Its all about Layering and Sidechain in Todays Trance .. Sadly that Trance or UPLIFTING sounds no more different and changeable like good old Trance/UK Trance 15-20 Years ago :( but however a Good Masterclass anyway from Tibor / reOrder ... my first Track i bought on Vinyl from you was your Track ''Experience'' , and i still have that Vinyl in My Case :)
@@reorderdj thanks, bescause i use live 10 and in the clip section i cannot find scales, so i use my akai force on midi then its easy to do complex chords
