It's so refreshing to see adults talk about trans related subjects, instead of just teens or young adults. Of course it's great to hear stories from all age groups but adults/middle aged adults are rarely heard in the midst of the youth. This type of representation is also very nice because young trans guys can get an idea of what to expect (in terms of appearance etc.) when they become adults.

I am 27 years old and around the time when I was first questioning myself I was a young adult. but the problem then was there were no groups for adults to help with transitioning or counciling, they were all for youth, for 18 years or younger. I was 20 and alone. so for years I bottled it all up, tried to force myself to be comfortable with what I was born as and when the facade failed (it failed in waves) that's when I hit my lowest points, when I began to research and think and explore the trans experience. my fears and insecurities kept me from going forward for real though until I was at an age where my life was not gonna go any further until I addressed all of this. 26 years old i met with a therapist finally, a group in my neighborhood emerged focusing on trans adults rather than JUST trans youth and i got many of the answers I needed. It took me 2 more years to accept those truths but having that help made a difference. I was seen as who I was and not who I'm 'gonna be' cause I wasn't a kid, a teenager. Adulthood is hard enough to figure out on our own but in situations like these, sometimes it could feel like we've been abandoned entirely in favor of children. I too, am glad to see a vide about adults going through this crucial part of living for a change.

Not manly talk at all. Men are never safe. You are obviously a women. Being a man is more than just having a beard and wearing male clothing. You " feel" like a man..... ok, how about going about for a year and identify as a male. Not trans male, just plain old male. Let's see how fulfilled you are- being someone with privliage, I know you won't. You will quickly see all this patriarchy male power nonsense is exactly that. Nonsense..... God help you if a war breaks out during the year you choose to identify as pure male.....I have a sneaking suspicion you will magically be female again if that happens, or at the very least trans man- but not a real man, not if all the male responsibilities are involved

@ if a war breaks out I'll represent my country Britain I come from a long line of serving men and if my queen and Country needs me ill be there on the front lines.alot of biological men don't want to fight for their country and fake injuries and such to be exempt. It doesn't matter who you are, trans or not there will always be cowards on both sides and I don't belive in the male patriarchy. I belive there are advantages and disadvantages of being both male and female. I am ready to accept any thing that comes my way as a result of me being a man. It wasn't a choice for be but a need if I didn't become a man there would have been no way for me to be female I would have killed myself and still it's hard, there isn't a cure for having disforia but the treatment that was recommended for me and was the only option was transitioning and so far it has helped me be the real me. I know it's hard for someone like you to understand but if I had a choice I would be born fully male as its painful to be reminded of what you are not.

@@armymanssg508 In the same chapter as you quote in Romans: 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them. Of course it is sin, all sin, you sin, I sin, Paul sins. It is why he lists it amongst the other sins *you are committing right now*, as equally deserving of death. That is the lesson of Paul to the Romans, that all are equally condemned by the law of the flesh, acquitted only by the law of the Spirit. Yet rather than offer them the Spirit, as our Lord bids you, that *despite* their damnation, right beside you, under the law of the flesh, they may also be redeemed by the Spirit, and made perfect in Christ by love, grace, and truth. For if you condemn by the law of the flesh, so shall you also be condemned. But if you liberate by the law of the Spirit, so will you also be liberated. And I and my brother Paul will speak on your behalf before our Master for you on the day of our judgement.

I don’t care how much you disagree with people transitioning. If you claim to be Christian and hate on those who have different beliefs than you, you aren’t a real Christian. God says to love EVERYONE, even if you disagree with them. Maybe you believe that gender is totally biological, but they don’t. That’s okay though. All of us have the right to think and speak of our own will, including many of you scrolling through the comments just to reply with disapproval. Question: if y’all despise trans people so much, why do y’all search up these videos to begin with? Just let people do whatever they want with their lives and their bodies! If someone wants to get lip injections to the point that they look like a duck, I’ll probably not support it, but at the end of the day, they aren’t hurting anyone by looking like a duck. That's a light-hearted example. Trans people on the other hand are in a slightly different situation. Transitioning is a whole different topic that's way more serious, and I have deep respect and immense support for trans people, but the concept goes the same way. If a transgender man decides to take testosterone to achieve its effects, it doesn't affect you🤷. It's their damn body, not yours ffs. If y’all want to debate me, I’m up for debate. But my support lies with the trans community.

It's never too late, why do you even think that? :) I'm on my way, slowly coming out of the closet as a transwoman. I'm 28 now. There were always clues that I was female but the thought never even crossed my mind until... idk, 5 years ago, maybe? Before then I never even noticed anything wrong, because I subconsciously repressed a lot of my dysphoria, and I'm also autistic and the struggles that come with being autistic "masked" the dysphoric feelings that I couldn't repress. And when I started realizing that I was transgender, the alexithymia (a common symptom of autism that is the difficulty in reading my own feeling and sensations) was an obstacle to me, and as a result it took years to understand what was exactly my gender because I struggled to interpret the feelings of comfort and discomfort over my gender. And then when I finally did it took me another year to trust my own feelings, and only recently I'm starting to be more comfortable about my gender identity and I'm now gradually coming out and deciding if I should transition now while I still live in my country or wait until I moved to Australia where I'm planning to move to, and where the prejudice is a bit less. And it took AGES to get to this point, I'm 28 now, many many people have had it clear way earlier in their life and came out and started transitioning way earlier and by the time they're 28 many transpeople are on hormone therapy since they were 18, had all their sugeries (the ones who wanted the surgeries) and have been living their lives as their true selves for years. But not me. I'm 28 and I'm barely starting to be comfortable with my real self. And yet, it's not too late for me to come out. I'm impatient to start to transition and I worry about all the years testosterone worked on my body, and how harder it will be to undo its work after all these years in which it kept changing my body. But I don't feel like it's too late to come out and live as myself. It's not too late for me at 28, and it's not too late for you at 31. It's never too late.

This made me cry . It was happy tears. I used to be so closed minded. It wasnt until a friend of mine committed suicide that I actually started to educate myself on this. My friend was born female but identified as male. I couldn't understand those feelings. I love being a woman. I tried to understand it when he was talking to me but it was still difficult. I tried to be supportive . He said I was one of the only supportive people in his life. That saddened me. There is nothing that my kids could tell me that would make me love them any less. My daughter came out as part of the LGBT community a few years ago. I sat her down and said her name and told her I would love to meet her girlfriend and the only thing important to me is her being well and happy . She cried which made me cry . I think it brought us closer though. God gave me my children as a gift. I think every parent should look at their children that way and accept them for who they are. To me, if that happened suicides would drastically drop, especially among our youth. God bless

My baby came out to her Dad and me at the age of ten as a gay female. We were struck by her courage to speak with us but she still was just a child and I said "let's wait till you hit puberty before we slap any labels on you". Sure enough she got older - and at 12 1/2 she came to me again and said "I got my period. BTW - still gay." Which was both comical and affirming to me that this child KNOWS herself. But that was not the end of the story. Later that same year - she told us she was trans. She said she was a boy and so HE became my son Dominic. YES sure there were moments where her Dad and I struggled to understand everything. But now - as we travel down this road together - it isn't anything. It's simply my son being himself. Statistically you just hav normal teenage feelings of estrangement and some depression. You have been heavily influenced by pop culture obsession with gender non-conformity and are following a fad. Testosterone will make you feel amazing temporarily, and the praises from peers and people online will be a temporary high. But about a year in the novelty of following this fad will wear off and since your underline depression was never addressed and the high of saying you are coming out wears off. you will fall deeper into a depression and attempt suicide. Its literally the same pattern so many teen girls are going through. I know you think I'm just being mean but this is probably the most real and caring message you will hear from people around you. You are not trans that view was placed in your head by outside influences. Work on accepting the body you were born with. Work on yourself as in how you will make a living and contribute to society. Don't let your whole personality be about what gender you want to be. Try to develop enough critical thinking skills to see through pop culture and understand that most people your age are highly influenced by pop culture and peer groupsfrom the way they act, dress, and think. Look at what social media you are consuming and ask yourself tough questions like who is influencing you, why is there a 6000 percent increase in gender non-conformity among teen girls in the last ten years but people older than teen this type dysphoria is not increasing.

When he talked about his mum replying with 'Hi Cal', I couldn't keep it together. I'm so glad they both got the acceptance they deserve. I think that a lot of families need to realise that there is a difference between accepting who someone is and tolerating who someone is. When I came out, my parents told me that they loved me but they didn't think that they could 'do the whole name and pronouns thing' and it really stings. I know it must be hard for my parents to understand that I'm not and was never their daughter, but I feel so much worse. I feel depressed and dysphoric about everything. I feel guilty because of what I'm putting everyone around me through. I feel ashamed that I am transgender. I think about how whatever happens I will never be cis. I pray and wish that I could just be normal. And every day I wonder how they could not acknowledge it and act on it even after I told them. And I know other people have it worse and I am so sorry for anyone in a bad place, but if any parents read this I hope you hear the message I'm trying to deliver. Don't just listen to us, hear us and make a difference. Because honestly, I feel ignored by my parents and that's why I cried when I heard their stories.

Hey, buddy. I'm so sorry to hear that your folks aren't responding in a way that makes you feel supported and seen and loved and accepted fully, because you truly deserve that. Sometimes it takes people who have known us for a very long time extra long to really get their heads around us being trans, and sometimes they never really get there, but it is more than ok that you are trans. You are a great, flawed, beautiful person who deserves love like everyone else. I understand the feeling of wishing you were cis, but it *is* just fine that you aren't. Trans people have been around forever, and we're not going anywhere, so try to practice being ok with that in your heart. You deserve to accept yourself. And I know it's not much, but I accept you, I support you, and I'm rooting for you. We can do this. I hope your fam comes around. If not, I hope you begin to find out how you can accept that, and continue living and loving your life. My parents are both dead, and I know my dad probably would have taken a while to be ok with me being trans, but I think eventually, after several years, he would have gotten it. I think my mum would have been much quicker to adjust and accept me for who I am. I wish so much I could have had the courage to come out to myself earlier in life so that I could have given them the shot. I would have loved to hear them call me my real name. It's a bummer that all my memories of them have my deadname and incorrect pronouns in them, but c'est la vie. Anyway, keep your chin up, and know you've got at least one stranger on the internet in your corner. :) I hope you have a great day, and a wonderful life. Give your folks time, but know that you're worth the possibility of appreciating yourself enough to create whatever distance you need if they end up being harmful to your mental health. We trans people deserve healthy relationships just like everyone else. Best wishes, friend!

Also, you have no reason to feel guilty about something that 1) you cannot change about who you are and 2) is not wrong in the first place. Working on our internalized transphobia is an important process for most, if not all, trans people. I'm still working on mine, so I wish you the best of luck with yours. Hopefully it's something you know logically is patently wrong. Trans =/= bad. Trans is beautiful and part of many, many different life experiences and lifestyles and truths of humanity. Take time to remind yourself that, while the hardships we can face suck, being trans in and of itself isn't a bad thing.

Hey there! I agree with what Sky already stated. I just wanted to add my support to you. Sometimes it does take a long time for people to come to terms with anything that's unexpected or different from what they assumed or thought they knew. While some never get there, there is also the possibility that they will...someday. What's important for us, is to cultivate love around ourselves. Love from our friends and love for ourselves. It's important, I think, for us to realize is that trans people have been around forever, and we are a normal part of the makeup of human beings. If it's any help, I used to feel as you do. Depression, guilty and ashamed... especially ashamed of being trans. I'm not anymore. I celebrate myself. I embrace my being trans and for who I am today. I surround myself with love. And though, being trans is a large part of me, it's not the only ingredient that makes me up. I'm an artist. A writer. A spouse. I give love to others. I listen to others. I try to help others. I love my wife, my dogs, my family, my parents...my dad. And, I love myself. Find "your people" as they say... so that you are well supported. Your family may need some room to come around. In some ways coming out and transitioning, if that's what one chooses to do, can kinda be a bit of a transition for the people around you, too. Take care of yourself. Don't hang out with abusive people... hang with the people who lift you up and who you uplift.

Hi. I'm sorry your parents reacted that way when you came out. But you don't need to feel ashamed that you're transgender. Being trans is ok and it's normal, although relatively rare, and you're not any less of a man for being a transman. You don't need to be cis to be valid as a man. And you don't need to wish that you could be normal, because you are already normal.

As a trans dude, im so nervous to come out. I feel the need to - people deserve to know the true me and hopefully, the misgendering would stop; but at the same time, even the thought of it feels like it would be a chore. The main reason i haven't come out to family yet is i don't believe im ready. Ive only been identifying as non-cis since October, so about 7 months, and labeling as a trans male for 3 or 4. I still haven't even thought of what to name myself yet, still figuring out if the they/them in he/they is there for a reason or not; i don't know. Being transgender really makes you scared of the future.

Treball ___ that’s not how being trans works at all. A study in 2018 suggests that trans men’s brains are more structurally and functionally like that of a cisgender (not trans) man’s brain, and vice versa for trans women. That means trans men have male brains and trans women have female brains. It’s obviously impossible for a person to have a animal brain, so your comment is not only dumb and unfunny, but also very factually incorrect and rude. If you’re going to be a jerk, at least know what you’re talking about. And commenting the same thing on every comment is childish and shows that you don’t actually have an argument.

And you can be good and be gay or transgender or whatever just as long as you do good in the world! @@poultryparty7101 The Q isn't a slur at all: the Q means Queer and it has long been reclaimed by the LGBT+ community and many of us identify as queer. Let's not spread bullshit. By the way, accordingly to your logic also the word "gay" shouldn't be used either, because in the past "gay" was a slur just as "queer" was, and it was reappropriated by the gays just as queer was, the only difference is that most people forgot about it.

I'm a 15 year old trans male struggling with anxiety, insomnia depression, and other issues that I have yet to figure out. I'm also gay as far as I know. (just to be clear, gay as in, if I was a cis woman, I'd be straight as a ruler). This is a beautiful video. I'm currently going through the process of coming out. Now, my parents aren't religious at all. We used to go to church when I was young, but we all just stopped going as a collective years ago. When asked what religion they practiced, they always say none. I even have a cis gay brother. But I came out to my mom a few years ago. She used the wording "maybe it's a phase". I don't know if that would hurt to any other trans guys reading this. But it really hurt me. As I'm trying to come out to my more accepting friends and stepsisters, I can't stop thinking of what she said. It's been a huge struggle. At the same time, I'm being stressed with school and I'm constantly not wanting to go. I hear my birth name all the time there. Not only does that hurt, but I'm also constantly bullied. Hated by the majority of my class. So that just helps my self esteem. I kinda went off track here. Point is. As a trans guy, this video really spoke to me. I'm the kind of person to rush things, so a lot of people know. When I finished this video and looked at the comments I cried. I always wished I could have a supportive family. It's just terrifying. Whether your family is supportive or not, the idea of coming out is terrifying. I had asked my friend to help me come out to my sister who I know is supportive.

I just came out as a trans male, and most people aren’t really taking me seriously. My friends kind of just said “I’ll accept you but idk how I feel about this” and one of my friends said that she didn’t know how to feel about it and if she could still call me by Autumn. At first I said, sure, whatever makes you feel comfortable, but now that I’m out, I just... I can’t handle being called that anymore. I make a point not to respond to people unless they call me my name, the name I chose or by my nickname, Teddy/Ted. However, most of my depression has gone away now that I’ve come out. I walk confidently, I accept who I am, I no longer force myself to only wear dresses, I no longer force myself to think that one day I want to get pregnant even though I definitely want kids. I’ve always wanted to adopt a bunch of kids that have trouble getting adopted because of their age. I just broke. I couldn’t hold it in anymore. I needed to be out. I’ve just been shoving myself deeper and deeper into a hole... I wish I could have come out to my dad before he died earlier this year, but it’s okay. I know he’s proud of me for being true to myself.

Ky P you guys like to use the same stupid argument every time but it doesn’t work, people with just X chromosomes, or just Y chromosomes come out as trans all the time. Females can get pregnant, I don’t think it is really that hard to understand unless you’re just straight up stupid.

I admit I didn't understand what transgender really was until Caitlyn Jenner came out. I watched her show to get more information on why? What was the need to transition? How did they know they were trans and so many more questions? Up until that show, I thought it was more of a transexual thing (or wanting to dress like a female rather than "being" female). Even Chaz Bono didn't pique my curiosity as Caitlyn Jenner did. After watching her show I started watching videos about children who lived their true self. I don't remember her name but a little girl had her friends over to her house, I think it was three girls and two boys and they all talked about how they knew "she" was a girl and not a boy. One boy said her having a penis doesn't make her a boy, who she is inside and who her brain is making her a girl. They all accepted her as a girl, they were her friends and defended her if anyone said anything against her. This absolutely melted my heart, here are these young kids around 10 - 12 years old that understand what so many adults refuse to even consider. I got it, I finally understood what being transgender is as clear as a non-transgender person can with limited education on the subject, it broke my heart that people can be so cruel to impose their beliefs and ideas on someone else. I have always been a supporter and defender of gay and lesbian rights, now I added support and defense of transgender to my crusade against bullies. If a person's beliefs in their religion, books like the Bible, etc is important to them then I can accept that and leave them to live their life as they choose. What I can't accept and won't sit idly by is a person belief in those things gives them the right to dictate how another person must live their life. Your religion is YOUR religion and not everyone elses. You have zero proof that YOUR religion is the religion of the Creator of the Universe and the "one true religion" to follow or that is right or only one. I hear people say, "God doesn't make mistakes". My reply Is always, God doesn't micromanage every pregnancy, therefore He doesn't stop a fetus from developing blindness, deafness, missing digits, limbs, part of their brain, so many other birth defects, etc. If someone believes that God doesn't allow pregnancy and nature to take its course and therefore allow the hormones that science knows are delivered at different times during fetal development for the body and the brain then your God intentionally causes birth defects. Abby and Brittany Hensel are the conjoined twins that have one body and two heads. If God did not stop this birth defect of Abby and Brittany from occurring in utero, then what makes you believe He didn't stop the hormone testosterone being delivered to a developing fetus creating a male body and later the hormone estrogen being delivered to the brain creating a female brain. The people that believe their Bible is flawless and without question want to have their cake and eat it too, meaning they want to use it to defend any position they take while completely discounting anyone's opinion or science that disproves their theory. Please please please just allow people to live their life as they see fit, it is THEIR LIFE NOT YOURS. To all the LGBTQ+, straight and everyone else out there, happiness and blessing to you. You be you, be safe, give the idiots and bullies hell. I love most of you, ha ha, I can't really say I love the idiots who preach their hate and torment at others. See, I am not perfect, I don't have all the answers, I am not always right, I make mistakes, my opinions and judgments are just that, they are mine and many time they are wrong or flawed. Just as yours are too. No matter what, having someone kill themselves because of bullies, idiots, religious zealots won't make you right just becsuse your denial of who they are forced them to end their life. Be kind to each other. Peace to the world and be happy. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜💖💗💓💞💕
