Mike and Deborah’s Transatlantic Balloon Challenge
Blind veteran Mike Scholes and his partner Deborah Day are planning an ambitious challenge to fly a balloon across the Atlantic Ocean. The challenge, which will see them setting world records, is also designed to raise the profile of Blind Veterans UK, a charity that has supported Mike since 2008.
Deborah and her registered blind partner Mike plan to fly a balloon across the Atlantic. She will be the first lady to captain a balloon for this epic journey and will also set female distance and possibly duration records. Mike will also be the first registered blind person to crew on such a flight.
