Can an electric current enhance your cognition, or is electrical stimulation just a thing of fiction?
Join us this week as we delve into tDCS and explore how it can alter neurophysiology in turn making us smarter!

With respect, you conflated it not being FDA approved with the notion that it's not necessarily good for people. But the FDA approves drugs known to be harmful and mostly ineffective, every day of the week, while the extremely prohibitive testing costs prevent good treatments that are too cheap to make a profit from getting FDA approval. To me, FDA approval means absolutely nothing. Having read how aspartame got its approval, I comfortably ignore the FDA. I assess the goodness of a thing without respect to their opinions.

Vioxx, high fructose corn syrup, Partially Hydrogenated Oil, Olean / Olestra, Microwavable popcorn and Sugar laden breakfast cereals were or are FDA approved, proving their impeccable track record & unquestionable expertise.

Right? So stupid I have used this device I totally regret it. I think its harmful because its nothing different than the electrosmog they have been warning us about for years. Just in way bigger quantities. Nobody warns us about all those side effects that could potentially appear a lot of years from now

Wonderful video and great job behind on the research. And also, you explain it simply and in so understandable way!

Great video! In the right hands of researchers and using the right machinery (not the crappy commercially available ones), tDCS can be of great use to learn more about brain function. The more we study it, the more likely it is that tDCS may eventually be robust method to change brain activity and function. However, DIY tDCS or the stuff you buy on ebay does nothing good for you. On whether it is ethical. It is a tough question, but as long as it is not harmful, I see no reason why it would be a big problem. Then again, I also do not think it will make you smarter. In patients it may help restore a given function. But in a healthy brain, a benefit in one function will probably be at the cost of another function, as our brain has only limited resources (oxigen, glucose, etc.). Thi brings me back to my previous point: For research, cool. In patients, maybe beneficial. Anywhere else: probably not that useful

Are you sure this is not harmful? I've used this but am not sure if it hasn't done any damage to my brain and nerves. For years some Experts have been warning us about brain fog and this is really no different just way stronger
