This was awesome. Thank you for making this. Basically bought wow for my nephew and it rang me to say it’s stopped on 70% and we all know how long games take to download. Hopefully he’ll be able to drag what’s already downloaded over and it continues. Thanks again
You need to be the go to youtuber. I watched others and they don’t complete this set up like you did. You got a 👍🏻 from me. If I could I’d give you a 8/10 only cause you were very fast, but I get it you only have a certain time frame to cram all that information into. I appreciate you.
That's really nice to hear man I never really thought about the speed, but you're absolutely right. It sucks to be needing to pause every 5 seconds! I'll make it better in the update
I thought my computer was running really slow when I was watching this because your vid is so fast. Appreciate the guidance into the gaming spectrum, I have always done behind the scenes work for games, not really playing them haha cheers
Wow your download time was insane mine is still on 3% 🤣🤷🏼♂️ love the vid. I’m nervous deleting it from the built in ssd but I’ll trust you *fingers crossed*
Few if nobody is talking about ms games. These are probably the worst to transfer. I'm trying to figure this out short of wiping a sh*t load of data off my small ssd and re-downloading again! F-ing ms!
Even though this video is old this guy helped me a lot thank you so much for making this not complicated unlike others that do it to add more time and make more money ❤️💪🏽
Just subbed, only video I could find for the Epic Games Launcher. What a pain that process is. Also, nice computer, your download speeds are insane. I'd love to know your system specs.
I'm happy to hear it helped someone! They all try and make it tough and usually it's just goofing around until you get it. At the time I had an OC 1700X w/NZXT X62/ Asus Strix 1080ti/32gb Corsair RGB Pro. Nowadays I'm running a 3900X / 5700XT / 64gb Trident Royal with a Hardline Water loop.

I thought with steam games you just go to settings, downloads , steam library folders and then from here you can select the new drive to load game to ….do I still need to follow ALL the steps you showed earlier in your video … ? I think I might have only half done the job ?🤔
Hello @JeffTechMedia I have a question. idk if there is a video on how to transfer steam games on a hardrive from one pc to an new pc. I wanna transfer my hardrive from my old pc too a new pc :/ but idk if this will work
It doesn't work for me. At the 2:20, steam didn't match the game and it just kept downloading the game. I tried AOE II, Tribes of Midgard, ABZU, Horizon: Zero Dawn, but only Tribes of Midgard succeed.
Is there a way I can just have everything download to my external hard drive without me having to do anything? Steam is updated and everything you showed here is different lol it barely help I wasn’t able to download my destiny game the rest were simple
It depends, are they stored in the actual game files folder? I know some are held within the my documents area. To be safe, you could make a copy in with your game folder or next to it. Then wither change where the addons pull from, or have the backup for if you need to move the game in the future.
I’m not that tech person . So if I put my game on my external drive (and let’s supposed the steam program is no longer working or went away so can I still run my game on my pc device even though The Steam program is no longer there?? (same as what gforce did to many gamers that lost their games when they separated from nvidia) Thanks
Help please ;D when you moved Overwatch from one drive to another it took 10 sec. i only move 2-20mb/sec and it takes like an hour to move it. why does it take so long for me ? i have an WD elements se SSD, 500GB as the system, and an WD elements se 2gb storage.
When I'm transferring game from d drive too steam folders then apps once I get too the point u would drag game too common on external HD the common folder is not there
This is rediculous, I should be able to just copy the game folder to my external hard drive in a few clicks. Its 2021, come TF on. If it's so easy to do on consoles then PC should be a breeze.
There should be a source file located in a folder somewhere. Make sure to check show hidden items in your file expplorer. I recommend the software SpaceSniffer to locate where lots of files are throught the system
You don't menchion weather or not to delete the old file from the other drive once its been copied to the new one i am assuming that is the case anyways...
After steam checked all the existing files it say validating... and dont keeps going like that should I wait longer or restart Steam and recheck the existing files?
On steam, as soon as I put the game in the hardrive, I didn't have to do anything else and I could just play without it telling me that it couldn't be found. Is this normal?
Has anyone done this with the sims 4 while using mods and cc? I'm an avid simmer and l want to transfer my game and mods/cc to an external hard drive because my c drive is running out of space, but lm afraid something will happen and l can either lose everything or my computer messes up. Has anyone done this successfully with mods/cc?
Do you know how to stop my games from downloading/syncing to my one drive? I have no idea how to stop that from happening without messing up current settings. This mainly happens with my origins games which I don’t understand because I have the origin setting to download to my C Drive in the program files (x86) folder
I haven't tried this yet but it should help a lot I had only 150 gb left in my c file and 1.5 tb in my d folder and don't know how to move games without it glitching I tried it before and it completely broke the game
Wait so when it starts to redownload and you stopped it where did you get the second (common) folder? The steps at 2:05 have me a little confused if someone could explain.
Waste of time my games all needed to update the game file moved but I don't think it moved the game updated cuz mine had to download still or again which ever u prefer
Does anyone have any idea what to do when working with steam and you get to the Common Folder and there arent games listed but more folders leading to a bunch of other nonsense. SEND HELP
