Hey Matt loving the channel. It was your review of this that convinced me to buy one in the UK, tho getting hold of one proved difficult. Ended up with the Grabstar AV which I think is the same machine rebranded. Question for you. Would you say this is still one of the best options for VHS?
@@ceezsees3471 HI there. TBH I've not done much recently due to a house move. The little bits I had done went well. I think it's the same machine just rebadged. I got mine from Amazon returns for just over £30. Worth a punt at that price. I've got a lot of projects when I finally get settled. There'll be some dodgy 80s and 90s gigs on youtube for sure. Overall happy with the Grabstar for now but I'll update further over the coming months if you like.
@@gazwilson3128 Hey thanks for the reply. £30 is a great price and worth a shot if anything. I ordered the ClearClick for just over £100 over a month ago from Amazon US (refurbed model, although seems brand new) and it literally just came through the door now. Going to hook it up and see how it goes. But an update with yours would be great.
Yes, I was interested in the same. What output does it offer and how does it compare to the AverMedia? The one difference I did note was that the AveMedia offers the HDMI loop (HDMI in / out) where as the ClearClick only has an HDMI output. The main question is quality - is it better than the AveMedia or the same?
@@VHSConverters thank you I think I will buy one. Not sure if the one through Amazon is fake though, might buy it from the actual site. I hope its from America, had problems with products from China.
I've thought of getting one of these but they are pricy. Used to be around $90 but now they are more. Not sure how good this unit captures video. Some VHS tapes are badly work or have security on them. Will this device stabilize the picture as well like a Time Base Corrector.
@@VHSConverters In your review of the AveMedia you showed the different output specifications and commented on the frame rate etc. Could you do the same for the ClearClick, it would help understand if there are any quality differences.
I bought this product last week and I have tried converting my videos from my old Panasonic camcorder mini dv tapes to USB SanDisk flash drive 128gb, 65gb and 32gb and is not working, also just to mention that I Have a imac so I formatted the flash drive and the SD card in my mac, then start recording and after is done I tried to copy the files to my mac and it shows the file empty, so what happened? I tried 3 times and my mac still not showing the video, maybe there is something wrong with the device and should return it to Amazon. Also I send a email to support department on clearclick website and they never responded back. Any help? Thanks.
Unfortunately Macs and PCs are different systems when it comes to formatting. If you format the USB in the device it will then record to it correctly and the Mac will see the video file. BUT, having said that, if you are trying to copy Mini DV tapes, I found it didn't work copying those tapes over. Only VHS, VHS-C, Video 8 and Hi-8. I just got a blue screen and just audio when I tried mini DV cassettes.
@@VHSConverters hi there, after trying in different ways formatting the flash drive I realized that I needed to match the settings in both files names, for example: erase the flash drive for the "128gb SanDisk flash drive and also do the same for the "Untitled" files. They have to be the same MDS Fat 32, but the first one I had it as journalists that's why it wasn't working. Try it, it will work on Mini DV tapes also. Thanks for your reply.
Update. After trying several times O was able to use this product without any problems anymore. I really like it, the resolution is good, all depends on how bad the video quality from the video source. I recommend this product. Watch my videos, it my help.
