OMG! The iphone 12 pro max is huge!!! Either the size of a comparable luggage or surfboard. Can't wrap your hand around with thumb and either middle/index finger. The only thing that's good about it is the charge capacity is fantastic. No thanks! I'll stick with the sleek iphone 12 pro. But then again there are many Apple users prefer the iphone 12 pro max because of the charge duration that holds up very well. Each to their own. That's why Apple puts out many sizes with their iphones
Does dis work transferring iPhone sims card from metro to iPhone 12 Pro Max that was with T-Mobile I tried but it still says sos only even after I put the sim in
Doesn't work quite this way on T-Mobile. Recently got an iphone 13, moved my sim card over from an iphone xr ... couldn't make calls. Had to call support to get it fixed.
@@Bryan-ci6ej called support to get it working. But have since moved to Verizon. I was tired of carrying two phones, one business and one personal. I wanted both lines on one phone. Which is completely doable. T-Mobile said they couldn’t help me because I was originally a Sprint customer. And the former Sprint network wouldn’t support it. I hated ditching $65 a month for two lines. But Verizon had no problem putting both lines on one phone. So I switched.
Oh you’re very welcome! Glad it helped :) and good luck! Don’t get a clear MagSafe case lol. The iPhone 12 is pretty strong as is, so get a nice comfortable case you like
Normally after turning on your new iPhone and going through the setup, it will ask you right away if you want to transfer all the information from your old iPhone to your new iPhone. To my knowledge, they ask this question even before you transfer your SIM card. If you are buying a new iPhone from iPhone 12 and newer, I just made a RU-vid video on how to transfer your eSIM! Because iPhone 12 and newer you don’t have to use physical SIM cards anymore The video: Transferring eSIM to iPhone 15 Pro - Took Less Than 2 Minutes! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yEElHQkyMuQ.html
QUESTION: I’m on a family plan under Verizon. I have an XS Max and bought a 12 pro max yesterday. I was wondering that if I transferred the SIM card to the new phone will it show as a change in device on the billing and data on Verizon account if my dad checks?
Have you found out? I want to get a hone before Christmas but verizon has them on back order and I can get one at walmart but I’m not sure how to buy the phone there and connect that phone to my current phone number and data.
Unfortunately, you 4G SIM in your XS is Not compatible with the iPhone12 (5G). Even the online self serve change your device feature won’t work. You need to call Verizon customer care and have them change your device for you over the phone.
Depends on your needs and what settings you have! I on purpose don’t want things transferred over to my new iPhone 12 Pro Max at the time, such as pictures, videos, settings, apps etc. but when I upgraded to the iPhone 15 pro I had so many pictures and videos by that point and apps and settings I had the phone transfer everything over. It was a simple button you press on the screen you personally don’t need to do anything yourself
Update would be to just get an eSIM! So no more physical sim! Here’s my latest video on eSIM, and while it’s on the iPhone 15 pro, it is applicable to the 12 pro! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yEElHQkyMuQ.htmlsi=7Pwj0aQcAompHegW
I have straight talk and the two times I’ve bought a new iphone and switched the SIM card I’ve had to call the phone company to get the sim to work on the new phone.🤷♀️ I think the don’t like me buying an unlocked phone cheaper from someone who isn’t them, so they make it harder for someone to switch it to another phone.
hey bro i just got a new iphone 12 and set it up already does it matter if it’s not in factory reset mode when you put the old sim card into the new phone
I turned the SIM card the other way, just like you showed. I had already setup my phone, but I was having difficulty getting my SIM card out of my 7plus. I have weak finger’s. I bought a 12 Pro Max too. Thank you for this video, you saved me a big headache!
Does your old iPhone (the one with no SIM card) still have its number stored on it? i.e. if you receive imessages on your number, will you start to receive it on your iPhone 12 AND the old iPhone? Or does your old iPhone lose its number? For example, if you go to settings -> messages/FaceTime, does it still show your number?
Your number follows your SIM card to the new phone. Long story short: you shouldn’t be receiving any more text messages on your old phone. Longer answer: that depends on your settings. Because if you have iMessage text messages allowed for your Apple ID email, then there’s the chance you could get iMessage texts to both the old phone and the new phone at the same time if the old phone is connected to WiFi. Did that answer your question?
Will old iPhone sim cards affect 5g on newer phones? I switched my sim card from my xs and put it in the 13pro hoping that it doesn’t affect 5g! Let me kneo
Awesome vid but I’m going to be upgrading my iPhone later today and i was wondering do i enter my new sim after or before my data transfer to my new iPhone??
Do u have to have both phones from the same place for the sim card to work? Because I was going to buy a phone that's with smart talk but my old iPhone is with Verizon
I have a question if I get the iPhone 12 Pro Max do I press Verizon or no sim? Does it matter? Because I still want my SIM card from my iPhone 6s. (I’m with Verizon btw)
@@realjackeal also if I get no sim does it mean I can just switch out my iPhone 6s SIM card to the new phone? Because my SIM card doesn’t say NANO it’s just a simple small one that is silver
Same scenario but if I want to get a new sim card. Would i have to turn off imessage and facetime off on the old iphone? Or can i just activate the new sim card on the new phone since it will be the same number?
This will not work with Verizon. Transferring a SIM from a 4G iPhone 11 to the 5G iPhone 12 had a issue from Verizon stating that 5G will Not work with the 4G SIM card. Had to call Verizon to transfer my iPhone 11 number to my new iPhone 12 , with the original 5G SIM back in the iPhone 12.
I have an iPhone 6 (not S) and just about to pick up a used iPhone 11. Can I just switch out the Sim card the same way? I did find the Sim card in my 6 and actually even pushed the little drawer open (I simply used a paperclip). Thanks!
Yeah should work the same way! Just keep in mind the iOS is only updated for 7 years. So you only have a few years left with the iPhone 11 until no more iOS updates!
@@realjackeal well, the iPhone 11 I almost purchased only had 64 GB, and due to the intensive video recording I do, I really need 128 minimum, so I'm still stuck with my iPhone 6 (antique :-) in any event, I just heard from a friend that the newer operating system won't work on phones that are prior to XS (D'oh!) So even the iPhone 8 that I almost purchased would probably not work with my bank app In a couple years. Now I'll just have to win the lottery and get the latest iPhone :-)
You might need to turn your phone off and on again. Or update the signals that the phone can get. You can Google for the carrier’s specific way to update the signal.
Hi! If I buy an unlocked iPhone directly from Apple and transfer my SIM card from my current T-Mobile locked phone, do I still need to go to T-Mobile or call T-Mobile to configure my phone? Or should everything work fine? Thank you!
This is called "Sim Swap". I do not recommend that because the old SIM on the IP7 is outdated. If you buy a new iPhone, activate a new SIM card for free instead. The old SIM will not support all the new technology that your Iphone 12 has like 5G. If somehow you can't activate the new SIM right away, this is YOUR LAST OPTION.
@@squall8842 sim swap is safe for emergency, like you have to call or text someone. But for the long run, get the sim card that is compatible with your new phone internet feature.
Do the new devices usually come with a new SIM card?? I have 7plus now and preordered the 13 max pro. Will that new 13 come with a new SIM card or will I have to go to my carrier to get one?
@@aluna2778 For online order, you can pick the one that already have your carrier SIM card in it and activate it when you pre order. When you get the phone just set it up and your number will be automatically transferred to the new phone then it’s ready to be used normally OR you can come to an apple store and do the same thing. An sale specialist will help you go through. But I would recommend pre ordering it. It will be sold out really fast.
@Stetson apple said they would use E Sim by default for the 13 models to activate the phone instead of the traditional physical sim unless the customer specifically asks for it. Check the sim slot when you get the phone.
I have a question do u have to do this to get your cellular data or can u just get your cellular data by having both of your phones side by side and do the wireless
I chose to set up everything fresh to start with a blank slate. You can see about transferring everything. The new iphone should ask to scan the floating info cloud on the screen of the old iPhone, assuming your old iPhone does that
@@realjackeal no i did but i just went for it and it transferred everything over including my service but idk if it’s different for other services company but it shouldnt be.
i transfered the sim card from my samsung galaxy s9 to my new iphone 11 pro and at first it gave me celluar signal but then it says sim card locked and sim invalid, both phones are from sprint. any recommendations?
I honestly don’t know…have you tried going to the sprint store directly for help? I would recommend you buy an unlocked iPhone going forward in case you need to switch service providers.
I don’t think so but I could be wrong. To my knowledge only the phone number transfers. As for all the logged in accounts, I think you have to log into them all again. Or see about transferring every app and settings into the new iPhone
"Thank yoy so much to Apple for giving us a sim removal pin, it's like they knew we would transfer our old simcard..." WTF! $100 phones give this for free too (and a charger!)
hey man im sorry but im going to be honest. If you want your youtube to grow and make good money I do not think focusing on ONE COMPANY, ONE BRAND, and just apple is going to work. Yes people love apple but people also love androids. windows, linx, and etc. you get the point. Make how to and tests for all electronics. Make the youtube called, "Everyday Equipment living" or everyday gadget living or something. open your horizons and expand you have a lot of potential. just dont forget to thank me when youve got 100k subs
When you activate the new phone it’ll ask if you want to transfer everything. Follow the instructions which usually involves scanning the floating cloud on the screen of the old phone with the new phone :)
@@realjackeal thank you so much for the reply. I have one more question. So, I did what you said, but now some of my apps did not transfer. Why is that? Can I do it manually like the old fashion way by plugging your phone to the computer and use iTunes etc? I rally don't like the air dropping feature. Thank you for your fast response. 👍
@@realjackeal one more question. Would you recommend the SE iPhone. Im upgrading from a 6s. My daughter have giving me her iPhone 11 BUT its way to big and don't like the fact that there is not finger print button any more. Any recommendations will be gladly appreciated. Thank you!
I don’t know why some apps didn’t transfer and I don’t want to BS the answer lol. I can only assume maybe there’s a difference in the software between old phone and new? Or are you using different apple ID’s?
While I have not used the iPhone SE yet, the new SE I think runs on the same chip as the iPhone 13, meaning it should be very fast and good. If you’re looking for finger print, that might be good!
