For people wanting dark fantasy themed quest mods, I would like to recommend to you Beyond Reach and Vicn's trilogy of Vigilant, Glenmoril and Unslaad. These mods are extremely well written and the environment they add is very dark too. Some other mods that may fit this theme is Darkend, The Great Paladin, Undeath and Clockwork
This video came at the perfect time because I just started building my modlist again from scratch and I'm trying to go for a dark fantasy theme. Also, I personally use Obsidian True Storms and Supreme Storms which has a custom patch I found somewhere last year.

Superb video! I would probably add a few Daedric monsters from Morrowind, like Hungers and Daedroth. And maybe use vampire and werewolf overhauls, like Sacrosanct and Growl.

This is actually pretty cool, but I would also recommend a "darker nights" mod (there are many out there but any will do), the grass lighting mod so it doesn't look weird at night, and a darker dungeons mod. I think the immersion of these darkness mods make you feel like you are really in the world, and enhance the sinister nature of the world greatly. Something I would like to see is mod that adds random ghost encounters, sort of like seeing Odin in Valheim. That way, you always feel watched on the roads by unfriendly eyes. You would have to change the vanilla ghost model of course, but imagine dark figures, like walking shadows, staring at you through the trees with glowing eyes
Oh man this made me realize that I think the thing I'm missing is a reshade. I have a great ENB and the whole lighting setup but when I compare my game to the Witcher 3's light, I think that touch that's missing in my Skyrim is covered by what that reshade just did on here. If I just had that and grasscache I'd be about as close as it could get.
For creatures I would say to besides the ones you pointed, people have to go and grab all from MIHAIL, sadly it's does not has a all in one version yet but is more than worth it
The marshlands overhauls the swamp area between Solitude and Morthal. Ist's pretty creepy strolling through the foggy swamp and coming across old ruins filled with ghosts
Oh God! . . . . that is dark! . . . . gruesomely dark! . . . . morbid! . . . . unholy! . . . . unclean! . . . . truly NOT nice! . . . . and I LOVE it! (God! What is wrong with me!) . . . . . chanting to self while sharpening daggers: "It's only a video game. It's only a video game. It's ONLY a video game!" BWA ha ha ha! Thank you for helping me to release my dark side! . . . . joking aside, I did something very much like this for one of my playthroughs, and it was a lot of fun! But I did need to build a very bright and sunny mod list right after it!
How do you make mods like Man Those Borders and Civil War Checkpoints work with your grass mods ? I tried them and there is just too many trees/grass grow in places they don't have to do. More immersion breaking than anything Is there some patches i missed ?
Combat wise, I like to make a request about a combat style now very well represented in mod review channels (save from AJArim): Anime / Japanese Character Action combat style. Some coverage on well know mods about this style ( Elysees's mods; Smoking Sick Style; Judgment Cut; Devil May Cry, Nier Automata & Replicant animations; etc...) and some obscure, outside nexus ones.
They're not meant to be immersive, they're meant to be upbeat and escapist. I don't like overly colorful either, but if I wanted to play DS I'd play DS, too. Balance in all things, I don't want to feel depressed and hopeless, I want to feel like I'm actually helping out and that my actions are doing something. It's cool if you like immersion, but I only care if something is cool or not.

No, I don't care and all this crap should be kept in private, not flaunting gimp suits and strap-ons in public in front of small children.
