You can still find the full description below. The tires that we have chosen to place are slick tires by Pirelli that are used on racing vehicles. As long as we had chosen the tires we should have made changes at rims to accept the tires. Every rim was fixed and aligned on the lathe and then we cut one of its side. We removed a wider side from the other rims, which have the same diameter. We applied the two pieces that we welded with all of their perimeter on the rotary table that we have made. While the original rims had 12cm width after the transformation its width reached the 22 cm. On the four new rims we drilled new holes to fit the valves as the previous ones were at the side where the rims were removed. Then, we put the tires on the rims and we put some air in them without any air loss. After screwing them on the vehicle besides the big transformation of the image of the car we came across to some new problems. One of them was that while we were turning the steering wheel the tire was bumping into the frontal part- the body of the car. Therefore, after removing all the parts that were connected with the front wheels, we moved the whole system 4cm forward and the problem solved. However, to lower the frontal part of the car 15cm forward we had to move the position of the front springs creating a harder suspension at the same time. Also, at the back, the tires were touching on the springs. Thus, we moved the springs and placed them in another spot to solve the particular problem and lower at 16cm the back part of the vehicle, too. All in all, although the whole procedure of this project was time consuming, it was also very exciting
You can tell that there was a whole lot of head scratching done in order to get this far; so many obstacles on such a small platform to consider. Pretty smart, repurposing all of the mounting bracketing rather than overbuilding the frame components and adding unnecessary weight. It will be interesting to see how the ride geometry and tracking adjustment works out with this setup. 👍👍👍👍👍👍
The caster angle on the front should ideally be between 3 - 5 degrees positive. IE: the top of the strut back towards the rear of the vehicle. What you have there is negative caster which will roll the tyre under the car on cornering & try to pull the tyre off the outside bead. The tyre should gain more negative camber on the left tyre as you turn right, whilst the right tyre will gain positive camber & vice versa. You have the strut either vertical, or in positive caster. As it is, the handling will be horrendous with heavy steering & will bite back. You should also have between 1 & 4 degrees negative camber with slicks.
So far it appears my plan to wait until all the episodes were available and ready to watch through to completion, is finally paying off. It was hard not to watch *but;* right now I feel like I'm at the theater watching a movie I've been dying to see and-no disappointments.
"Fix the terrible suspension" makes it even worse 😂. A suspension upright is supposed to be upright or the spring and damper rate will change with suspension travel.
Its as if they took a look at cantilever suspension on racecars and thought, I'll have a go at that without understanding how it works. I don't know how someone can have all the equipment and none of the brains.
Wow great project but I feel mig welding instead of tig welding the rims together would have worked out better for you especially with the aid of your rotary table.
Did you do the recovery mode key combo on the broken builtin keyboard? Maybe its not broken and its an os driver type issue. It makes sense that the recovery combo would work on an external keyboard; its an operating system type restriction and external things probably work before the OS log-in screen is loaded. Think of PCs and using keyboards durring POST to get into the bios.
Tout simplement le meilleur concepteur réalisateur sur youtube donc certainement un des meilleurs de la planete vraiment bravo vos videos sont passionnante 🤘🏻💪🏻
this looks awesome, are you going to keep it electric and if so, what kind of motor and battery are you going to use? maybe nissan leaf motor? tesla motor?
Молодец, киприот. Правильно, надо жить своей жизнью - мечтой... кто захочет присоединится и поможет. 👍👍👍❤️🇷🇺🤝👏👏👏 Предлагаю построить грузовую платформу для предприятий 🚚
@@MakeitExtreme thank you! We don't have that car in the USA. It's interesting looking. I've always had a soft spot in my heart for ugly little cars (I'm a big fan of the classic Mini and Mini based Innocenti).
