Same here, very curious about that. What kind of plants did you use; these are not one year plants? And I guess you'll need to add food for the plants over time?

I'm always amazed at peoples DIY capabilities compared to mine. I have a garage, I have tools that I keep buying, but zero DIY skills 🤷‍♂️ so I live my DIY through other people & now it's time for a cup of tea & some cake after building that living wall 🛠

Great job there. To make it a bit 'greener' you could have installed a water butt to the garage gutter downpipe and used an Irrigatia Solar powered Automatic Plant Watering System fed from the water butt. Plants love real rainwater.

Pretty blood good that Stuart!! I've literally just ordered some hanging bags for my south facing wall to try my hand at growing strawberries and some herbs. If it goes well I might construct something similar using the membrane sheeting as that will work wonders I think. I hate gardening and plants, but as I get older I think I'm changing..... 🤣

Very impressive Stuart , and using the fabric as the actual soil container is a stroke of genius . Not having to make lots of boxes which would have increased the weight, is a game changer . I’m definitely a fan of the black jack product, and know it will protect your project for many years to come . 👍

We drove past a house today which the other half described as having "a thing on the end shaped like a house, sort of like a huge shelving unit full of plants!" Guessing it could be only one person's house, I showed her this video and I was right! She says it's looking great with all the plants now established. Unfortunately much of the discussion on the way home involved whether she could do similar on her house - thanks for that! 🙂

The flaw I see is that the compost is going to quickly wash out of the sides of the pouch folds as the daily watering happens, and wash down the sides leaving the plant roots exposed.

Great build and planting scheme. Did you not consider just planting some climbers for a permanent solution without the need to water? You could have put a wisteria, climbing rose, passion flower, vine etc? I’ve put roses and wisteria against my timber clad garage and they never need watering and achieve a green wall without need for a watering system or all that framing…
