I too am a bassoonist - studied music performance at University undergrad…played in Symphony Orchestra ms and Chamber groups- and most ppl do associate bassoon with these more classical settings. But had delight to play in several jazz ensembles and the bassoon can be a wonderful addition to a jazz ensemble - or as a solo jazz instrument.
