The truth of the matter is, Paul does not believe you must obey the truth in order to be saved. You do not have to walk in the light to be saved, you can walk in darkness. And Paul doesn't believe you have to "call upon the name of the Lord" to be saved, he believes in faith alone, no works. Is "Calling on the name of the Lord" in John 3:16? Repentance? confession? prayer? Paul believes in OSAS, there is nothing you can do to be lost or saved. Gal 5:4 says you can be severed from Christ and fall from grace, so Paul tell us are they lost? So, why were they not brought back? 1 Timothy 4:1 Says, " The Spirit expressly says that some will DEPART FROM THE FAITH GIVING HEED TO DECEITFUL SPIRITS AND DOCTRINE OF DEMONS". So, are they saved? why were they not brought back? In John 6:66 we have some disciples who decided not to walk with Jesus anymore, are they saved? why were they not brought back? Jesus said in Matt 7:21 that we must do the will of the Father and we must hear his words and obey them, so Jesus said in Mark 16:16 " He that believes and is baptized shall be saved" so must I be baptized? Jesus said, " Except a man be born of water and Spirit you cannot enter the kingdom of heaven, so do I need to be born of water and Spirit? It is stated that the Church is the family of God, do I need to be in the family of God to be saved? Again, Paul wants to straddle the fence, but the truth of OSAS, you can do whatever you want and you will still be saved, all you have to do is believe for about 20 seconds in your life and that is it.
