Hai sir I have a dought in restraining coil. When fault occurs, fault current surpasses through restraining coil as u said. Can I assume, restraining coil opposes sudden change in current for few sec then after it allows that current to flow in relay operating coil
In case of distribution transformer, current in the primary (high voltage) winding is always less than the current in the secondary winding. CT raio of primary & secondary winding always differ. In your explanation, you have shown same CT ratio for both windings. Besides, even in healthy condition also current in primary CT shall always be less than the current in secondary CT. Then the difference current will flow through the relay coil & shall trip the transformer. This is what I have predicted. Please throw more light on this matter to make me understand function of this relay correctly.
In conventional relay there is provision of matching CT in both side. And now a days in numerical relay no need of matching CT, there can be feed setting.
bro i have a dout transforer output means primary voltage is diffrent from secondary voltage but diffrential relay works on diffrence of magnitude so please explain if u know?

Agar normal condition meh sirf ct se current flow hoga to kab transformer meh current jayega. Aur kiu normal meh primary and secondary meh cureent same ata hain? Voltage level to different ayega to fir cureent same kiu
u said restraining coil will stop inrash current or change in voltage/current due tap change ……..wont it stop the difference of current from CTs as well ? explain
Hello sir As you said for CT secondary the current flow is opposite to the CT primary current... please make any video what's the logic behind it or reply in text . Hoping you will respond
fault current has very high magnitude , restraining coil may opppose , but its magnitude is very , some current pass to operating coil, and differential relay operate
Sir agar hamara connection Y-Y or ∆ - Y hoga to hamara operating & restarting coil hai usme koi change aayega kya ??? Or circuit diagram me koi change ho sakta hai kya ???
