Grapple is reunited with his old friend Inferno, 8 months after the Protectobot commander was believed missing in action. But what has brought him to Earth, and more importantly... where is the rest of his team?

Tredshop: "Revenge isn't Justice, it's a Poison." Those words, no matter how mine different configuration I hear, they always ring true. Finding were justice has been served, and taking revenge, is such a thin blurry line that crossing it can happen in the brig of an eye.

Can I just say, the sarcastic banter you have between each character is just beautiful. Especially at 10:15.

I know episode length doesn't reflect the quality but it's insane that we've gotten two 20+ min episodes in a row. Even if it's not indicative of the rest of the season, huge props for getting out episodes of this length with fantastic pacing.

I’ve watched this episode so many times now, and this has to be one of my favorite episodes. I love what you did with Inferno showing to be a hothead and sharing some traits with Prime Wheeljack. I loved seeing his deep hatred for the Decepticons and Lugnut. It shows how much the Decepticons truly hurt the Autobots physically, mentally, and emotionally. I can see why the matrix chose Treadshot, he’s a wise bot beyond his years. Revenge is not worth losing yourself. I loved his friendship with Grapple, I always imagined those two being good friends. Though the one scene that hit me hard was Inferno visiting Red Alert’s hologram. That hurt and you can hear how sad Inferno is losing one of his closest friends. Good idea using the siege figure for Red Alert. Overall, I can’t wait for the rest of season 3

Ok, THIS is a really good episode! I love how you handled Inferno's character. This lost soldier hunting down those who might've killed his team, consumed by a lust for revenge, losing sight of his good nature. I love how Treadshot saw that and gave Inferno a chance to redeem himself instead of letting Prowl throw the book at him. Seems like he's trying to live up to Optimus' example as Supreme Commander, being a kind and compassionate leader who believes in second chances. Also, nice bit of world-building, having Inferno being part of the Protectobots after Hotspot's death. Great use of the POTP Inferno figure! Also, the Defensor torso looks pretty awesome in red and white! Kinda reminds me of that one Japanese-exclusive repaint of the Defensor toy from the tail end of the Japanese G1 toyline (Operation: Combination), Guard City, where the Hotspot figure was red. Oh, and I love the character moments for Inferno! How he and Grapple play off each other is great. I love their friendship, I love how Grapple was able to help Inferno remember his purpose as a Protectobot, and I love how they patched things up at the end. Also, that scene where Inferno sees the memorial to Red Alert and the other fallen Autobots. It's a very sobering scene. I really hope we get to see more of Inferno and his variation of the Defensor Combiner in the Ascensionverse. That would be pretty cool. Oh, also, the part where Hoist says "What's poppin'?" In response to Tread calling him Scotty was hilarious!

As someone who was born and raised in Maine, it was nice to see my backyard show up in this episode. Another great one for the books

I’m so glad Inferno is in this series, I really love the protectobots and fire engine transformers and he was so badass in this.

Loved Inferno in this episode! Nice to see a character like him get some love. Also like seeing the little nods to Treadshot's relationship with the Ultra Magnus of his universe. With the buildup to the Terminus Blade, and given Magnus' ties to the blade, having a Magnus-Treadshot showdown feels like an inevitability. Would love to see that!

The memorial scene hits hard especially since Inferno went to his friends grave keep up the good work everything is really good and it's amazing to see the references being shown to the audience

Ngl thought he was not going to be alone in that base, i thought the rescue bots could have been there

I feel like Treadshot's revenge story has something to do with Shattered Glass Ultra Magnus. Not just because the Botcon lore had these two as rivals but SG Wheeljack's comments regarding Magnus during the Ark furnace fight during season 1.

This an incredible episode, Mr. Crosshairs Productions. I really like the solid bro-like friendship between Inferno and Grapple but what makes it more interesting is LUGNUT IS BACK! I thought Lugnut was dead from season two, but wow, I never thought he could survive the blasts of a ship. The story and dialogue of the characters are unique, and Inferno could remind me of Kickoff from the premiere movie. They wanted revenge against the Decepticons who caused them, even if killing them, and they have a deep hatred for them. Kickoff's deep hatred for Decepticons was because Overlord made him kill his friends to entertain him and Inferno wanted revenge on Lugnut because he thinks Lugnut killed his entire team. Anyway, this is a great episode, my friend, and it is worth the wait; keep up the fantastic work, and till are one!

Man this truly was amazing, I loved seeing the change of inferno from his appearance in zodiac bridge offering to go out to save outback to a bot trying to get revenge for his team

At first I thought that Tread was referring to his plan to strand Wheeljack in a pocket dimension. But now I'm thinking he was referring to something to do with Humanity's extinction.

That dialogue about revenge is really good

My prediction is that because Red alert died in season 1 Inferno now has a deep hatred for the Decepticons. Also because Tread shot is a decepticon Inferno will try to kill him just like Prowl was in season 1-2.Then it will be up to prowl to convince Inferno that Tread shot is a good guy.

Rivalry i never expected, lugnut and inferno

I have a feeling the other protectobots were probably abducted by the decepticons who tried to also get Inferno however were unable to and sent the team into a decepticon prison camp to ensure the autobots greatest weapon, Defensor, doesn't become active and stop devastator, as well as shockwave may also be tampering with them as well for interrogation or to just tear them apart

I know you wanted to add some more autobots to the roster and if there is ever any need for another medic I would love to see ratchet or maybe we need a bruiser like brawn. I am just brainstorming but the way you right these characters is just peak fiction.

Interesting that you retroactively changed Red Alert and Rodimus's body types, especially how you went with the Titans Returns mold instead of the Studio Series 86 version. Out of curiosity, any particular reason why Bumblebee and Optimus stayed the same? I also like the idea of Inferno standing in for Hot Spot after the former died. On top of giving Defensor a cool new look, I liked how you gave Inferno's vehicle form an "attack mode", as well as how you repurposed the folded ladder as a giant shoulder laser cannon. For a second, I thought that you looked into giving him some cool 3rd Party upgrade. Seeing Inferno lose himself to hate and revenge, only to be pulled back by Grapple at the last moment was certainly one of the highlights of this episode. The following scene where he takes in the destruction he'd caused, and the silent shame and disbelief he experiences was the cherry on top. On another note, I liked the Brooklyn accent you gave Inferno and it surprisingly fits him. And he does bring a valid question, what did Treadshot Prime mean about not being fortunate compared to Inferno? So, Lugnut has survived. I'm surprised that he's still in one piece after atmospheric re-entry, for the most part. And he's gone from single-handedly bringing down Omega Sentinels (ANIMATED) to Autobot combiners. Makes you wonder what will it take to bring him down... So, based on what was said throughout the episode, what's the final verdict on the rest of the Protectobots: dead or alive? Man, you've definitely got me excited and salivating to see more.

That is the Inferno Toy I have! I Use Him as my Sentinel Prime, as I don't own any of the DOTM Figures.

Inferno's story in 7:41 to 8:52 looks almost like the route of Hypori in the 2003 clone wars show. Mostly on the ground. And that decepticon fleet in the background mearly resemble a separatist fleet.

Hey Crosshairs I have a question. In episode 1 season 1 of Ascension ultra magnus says “long arm keep the combaticons pinned down” what happened to them? Did they die in episode 1 or are they still on the obsidian

The interior of the Ark has started to remind me of Comicron One of all things, which is fun

I would love to see the Shattered Glass Decepticons make a return at some point. Maybe even see evil Optimus being forced to join the good autobots to stop evil Megatron. Or evil Starscream returning and being captured by the good Deceptions and beaten around by good Starscream 😂

I’m late in saying this, but this is a great episode. Probably my favorite episode of season three, but I have to mention this. One criticism I have, and not just this episode but the entire series, is the audio. Not the sound or music audio but voice audio. There are many times I can’t understand a word that is spoken, biggest offenders Drift, Treadshot sometimes, Hoist, and Lugnut. Look you’ve been doing this a lot longer than me so you obviously know what you’re doing, but in the future could you possibly turn up the volume on the voices or just turn down the other audios so it’s clearer? If you don’t want to, that’s perfectly fine I could very well be partially deaf, but I just needed to bring this up.

I love the idea of the Autobots keeping a room aboard the Ark to honor their fallen, but for continuity sake I have to ask, how many Autobots are memorialized in there? I recognized Rodimus (possibly), Red Alert, Bumblebee and Optimus Prime, but I was curious if there were any others besides them that were once part of the earth Autobots before the events of Ascension that are confirmed dead Again just curious is all
