Transformers have their own natural alt modes on cybertron that look like futuristic vehicles. They can scan other vehicles to blend in with alien environments, like Earth. They've done it in the other movies as well. And the cartoons.
Yeah I feel like the Proto-Forms that Bay used, made a lot of people forget that the Transformers always looked like vehicles - just more Cybertronian.
So great, right? The opening minutes in the theater, for this had so many people screaming, and the other half of the room speechless. All of us G1 transformers fans were just absolutely going bonkers over the Cybertron part. The rest of the movie is phenomenal. They do such a good job like you pointed out with the building of Charlie and Bumblebee’s relationship. Great casting. Good dialogue. Good humor. Great action. Great time setting. Beyond that? It makes me super excited for this next one.
I just love that this movie was directed by a professional stop-motion animator. Knight was probably the only guy who could properly direct that Cybertronian battle scene and have it look as good as it did. Wish he could do more TF movies but this might be the only one he will do.
80's kid here... Bee was always my fave. I took myself to see this in cinema.. twice! I absolutely loved it and became a Hailee fangirl in the process lol. Movie has a lot of heart, can't wait to see your reaction :)
2:55 back on cybertron they did have vehicle modes but they were different styles than their earth vehicles. The old G1 tv series showed that. 8:09 Bumblebee also lost his voice in some of the tv shows they did. 13:07 they had the permission to do Volkswagen in the Bayverse but Michael Bay thought the Camaro was a better choice. Most of the robot choices was by Michael Bay. 15:21 this one he loses his memory along with his voice which is why he’s regressed. He’s scared and doesn’t know what to do or how to act until he gets an electrical jump that restores his memory. 16:30 Michael Bat screwed up the Transformers movies. They were entertaining but he said that he had to do the designs different than G1 cause you couldn’t fit all the Transformer parts in actual G1 style vehicles. 18:38 he wasn’t childish in the Bayverse. He was Sam’s protector and acted like a protector. 22:50 if you watched the 1986 movie the song would mean something. 29:43 it depends on the Transformer. Not all of them are triple changers like the two Decepticons.
I’m happy to tell you, we are getting a cybertron movie, as next years transformers movie is an animated prequel taking place completely on cybertron, that will explore Optimus and Megatron’s friendship and the events that led to the war. Also, the reason they all have vehicle modes on cybertron is because they’re cybertronian vehicles
If you really want to get into Transformers I recommend reacting to Transformers Prime TV show arguably one of the best representations of Transformers
On cybertron they had cybertronian vehicle modes not earth modes, if you look closely at for example bumblebees vehicle model on cybertron you can see it’s quite a bit different
There is an animated prequel Transformers movie coming out next year, entirely set on Cybertron, showing the relationship between Optimus & Megatron, so you'll get your wish!
The decepticons on earth were triple changers. The music Bee was playing when the kids were diving was from 85 Transformers the animated movie I suggest checking it out
Michael Bay was truly the worst thing to happen to transformers, he has zero respect or even knowledge for the source material. Glad he's taking the backseat of being just a producer for the new movies.
3:02... Yeah, I think everyone who grew up with G1 (myself included) was like "Dude, can we get a two-hour movie of THIS please!?" at that opening scene!
3:04 There is an entire movie coming out next year that takes place on Cybertron. It is an animated movie. Think in the vein of Into the Spider-verse or Ninja Turtles. It is to show how Megatron and Optimus Prime started the war.
She also voiced Spider Gwen in the Spiderverse films and appeared as Kate Bishop in Hawkeye. Hailee is awesome. I believe she was nominated for an Oscar for one of her early roles.
“Robot to car to helicopter, just like that” lol dude, you basically just quoted Transformers box descriptions on the back of the toy packaging. I got a really good chuckle from that This movie kicks a lot of ass, easily my fave next to the 07 movie and Rise of the Beasts. This is just good “Transformer” shit man.
I watched this for the first time recently and you're 100% on the money about it having so much more heart than the Bay films. It's basically a coming of age movie combined with an alien invasion flick. Works perfectly for Transformers.
next one will be on cybertron but animated not live action CGI it be about telling the story about the cybertron and friend ship of prime and megatron !! for what i heard
13:30 In pretty much every continuity(with few exceptions, such as beast modes), the idea is that the characters are simply mimicking whatever they turn into. So case in point, Bumblebee's vehicle mode is an approximation of a Volkswagen Beetle, but it's not the real thing, it's a disguise. So it includes all the essential components that would make the disguise work, like an engine, a trunk, seats, a steering wheel and petals, etc., and these things all have accurate functionality. But even then, he's still just mimicking a Volkswagen.
Better than the endless junk tornadoes that are the Michael Bay films! Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoyed those movies when they came out, but they never felt connected to the Cartoons I grew up with. 'Bumblebee' feels authentic and love that they got the 80's Childhood power fantasy element so spot on whilst retaining enough sweetness to tug on those heartstrings. Perfect family film. 🖤💛🖤💛🖤💛🖤
Transformers Films Ranked 1. Bumblebee (2018) 2. Transformers (2007) 3. Transformers: Dark of the Moon 4. Transformers: Age of Extinction 5. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen 6. Transformers: The Last Knight
This film is absolutely incredible! My only gripe is that they still had Bee lose his voice. Dylan O'Brien was perfect as Bee & they completely wasted the opportunity to keep him!
I wish they committed to this movie being a reboot during/before production (I get why they didn’t though) so we could continue Charlie and Memo’s story. It felt like they put a stop to it bc we needed to get to Sam (I’m sure that’s actually why they abruptly put an end to Charlie’s involvement.
That wasn't the reason. In 2019, Hasbro and Universal decided that "Bumblebee" would be a Reboot and the recent "Rise of the Beasts" is its sequel. The reason they didn't keep the same characters, is because they said that every Movie would feature new human characters, that would be more fitting to the Story. Charlie and Memo fit better for a family-drama - while Noah and Elena just made more sense for the Story within the new movie.
There's an animated Transformers movie in the works set on Cybertron. It's supposed to go back to a time when Optimus Prime and Megatron were friends, and show what happened to make them enemies. It should be in theaters some time next year.
Best Transformers movie by far! Started out as a prequel. But due to the poor performance of TLK, it was reworked into a reboot. Unfortunately the sequel to this (ROTB) did worse than TLK. So the future of the franchise is somewhat in question.
Easily the best transformers film, it actually makes you feel something as well as giving the best intro to a movie I’ve ever seen in the cybertron prologue. Can’t wait for ROTB
@Omn1Media,and an easteregg is in the film when Bumblebee swing opens his door to push Charlie forward on the beach scene,a few seconds of ,"The Touch" by Stan Bush played in the background, paying homage to the animated Film back then with him doing hit track for that 80's film?.
@Omn1Media,I bet you & other first time watchers of Bumblebee would notice that the Equalizer did a cameo, not Queen Latifah r Denzel Washington,ha? But it happens to the 80's The Equalizer himself apart from being on "Blue Bloods"CBS?.
I grew up with Gen1 and I was totally disappointed with the live action movies up to this point. I dont know how, but I got into a premier for Bumblebee totally by accident. I really didnt know that the movie was coming out I was so disconnected from it. But I saw it playing at a theater nearby, and decided to go. I only realized it was special when the security came into the theater and talked to us about how many fines the studio would make you pay if they even saw a hint of a cell phone in your hand during the show. When I got out of the theater was when I found out the actual release was a week later. However, the movie was TOTALLY different from the explosion craziness from the Bay movies. This was actually a movie that I could follow who was fighting who etc. The previous movies just was a big "blur" (lol there is a pun). But I could actually track everything going on and know what autobot or deception was in the scene. It was excellent! I cannot wait for the next movie and, from where I was... it is crazy for me to say that.
to be fair to both this movie and the Bay movies bumblebee is I think is the youngest out of the Autobots and we don't really know how old he would be as in human year kind of like the Asgardians
@@Omn1Media yeah your right lol but there are two games set in the world of cybertron I’ve played I recommend war for cybertron and the fall of cybertron
2:48 also I know I’m a year late but to answer your question I remember in the war and fall of cybertron video games they were always were able to turn into vehicles I remember some awesome levels when you transformed into the vehicles
Omni - my man.... You need to do a "re-watch" of the G1 Transformers stuff. If nothing else, watch the first few episodes (I'll have to look but I think it was 3 parts, but it may have been 2), and the original animated Movie. The Cybertron scenes were bang on accurate to the original show. THAT impressed me within the first few seconds. It's just a damned shame that some of the original voice actors are no longer among the living. I was 19 in 1986 when that animated movie came out, and you missed a few references to both it and the original show in this movie. I mean, how could you miss "You've got THE TOUCH! You've got the POWEEEEEEEER! (boom boom) YEAH!" when Bumblebee tried to get Charlie to do the dive? Do yourself a favor man, find that original soundtrack, and listen to it. It is so good, it will blow your mind. Yes, it's full on 80s music, but the music is so good, I bought it on every format it's ever been released on. LP, cassette, CD, and Digital. Also, yeah, Haley's 80s look and acting in this was fantastic. I'm definitely a fan of hers after seeing this. Story wise, I thought this was supposed to be a prequel to the Bay movies, but if it's a "reset", I'll take it. The first Bay movie was decent, but the CGI didn't quite cut it during the fight scenes. It was hard to tell who was who. I admit, I gave up after the second one disappointed me. But Bumblebee definitely restored my faith in the franchise. Also, the mom in this movie.... looked and sounded familiar, so I had to do a deep dive. She was in a Star Trek Next Generation episode titled "Who watches the watchers", as a teenage girl. She did a massive amount of voiceover work, but I only recognized a few of the shows. Also... and lastly..... LET'S GO CENA! CENA SUCKS!
The original cartoon series would introduce new transformers from time to time, keeping things fresh and making the way for new toys. Most of the transformers only had the two forms, robot and vehicle usually. Till they introduced the triple changers, transformers with two forms outside of their robotic one. The only thing I wished they would have done with this movie was show bumble bee in his original form. The form still goes by the previous movies and while we saw other transformers in their classic cartoon looks, bumblebee was skipped.
The only thing I didn’t like about this movie is the fact that we didn’t get to see megatron, frank welker and Peter cullen are getting old, would hate for frank not to get a chance to voice megatron some more, I don’t think megatron is making a appearance in rise of the beasts at all
Random observation, been paying attention to the vocabularies Omn1 uses in his videos, and they are quite advanced. Wonder if he has a graduate level degree or not. Or perhaps he's just well educated on his own
There is a animated (100% cgi, not like a cartoon) cybertorn movie coming after rise of the beasts, the origin story of Orion Pax becoming Optimus Prime. It’s called Transformers One and features Chris Hemsworth as Orion Pax and obviously Peter Cullen as optimus, and Scarlett Johansson as Elita One
Another way to think about it Bee can do things but he has a disability that's one of the reasons people that grew up watching the cartoons like me is related to Bee because of that people have disabilities that can't be understood that's bee
The movies saved the franchise, but I’m kinda bummed how they’ve overshadowed other media in the franchise. The 2005-2018 comic series was amazing and looked at the ramifications of a spacefaring civilization of living weapons that’s been at war for millennia. They were incredibly flawed but incalculable powerful, like if a cast of sitcom characters made up the Reapers from Mass Effect, and all the horror that entails.
I dunno. I grew up with G1 in the 80s and I pretty much hated this movie. There's nothing to it. It's a rehash of ET, Short Circuit and the Sam/Bee parts of the 2007 film. And it's Charlie's movie. The Adventures of a Spielberg Cliche Teenage Girl. Not Bumblebee's, he's just her puppy-like pet for most of it. The Cybertron scene tacked on at the front in post production when they decided late in the game it would be a 'reboot' (when it had been produced as a prequel) doesn't blend well with the rest of the film and looks more like a video game. First ever TF film where I've felt like walking out halfway through (I struggle with cinemas as an autistic person anyway). And I don't know why John Cena is acting like he's in a cartoon... Awful. And Charlie insisting Bee is harmless...and yet is unbothered that he goes full on red-eyed murderbot like a Decepticon at one point... So tired of the faux 80s trend this rode in on too. 80s was a fun time. I miss it. But you can't replicate that era well. Not even Stranger Things (another production that simply rehashes from better films/tv shows rather than do anything of it's own. Take out all the homages and there's nothing left). Also never understood the appeal of the VW Beetle... that car was literally created on the orders of Hitler but it's apparently ok to use in kid's stuff like Bee and Herbie... At least it ain't a green Beetle like the one that my friend got almost snatched away in when I was a kid. That one parked outside our school a lot and a creepy guy sat in it all day until he tried to kidnap her and eventually got arrested. :O
First of all the anime the war for Cybertron show is pretty awesome it goes through every stage of the war and it's a splintered off timeline from the original 1980s version
Oh bro let’s freaking go!👏👏👏 The second I saw it, I knew I had to watch your reaction!😁 Hope it gets you hyped for the rise of the beast!🦍🦅🦏🐆 They should definitely make a War for Cybertron movie!🎥
