That shiny bronze plastic on Dinobot breaking is probably due to GPS, short for gold plastic syndrome. It’s when a specific type of metallic swirly plastic (commonly gold but they all share the signature metallic swirl) becomes so brittle and fragile that it can easily break with little to no pressure in the worst cases. It’s fixed now but so many transformers toys were affected by this, including your Transmetal Megatron according to some. It’s always a shame when good toys have to be affected by things like this, but thankfully it’s no longer an issue so we can rest easy knowing that our toys won’t crumble to literal dust
