Transformers EarthSpark Cancelled After Season 2 and Replaced With New Series? 

Man, it's almost like locking a show behind an unpopular streaming service, giving it a piss poor release schedule, and half-assing its toyline is a great way to kill a show

Don't you just love how pretty much everyone wants Hasbro to go back to several Transformers shows, and yet they ALWAYS refuse to do so? ( ￣-￣)

Completely honest here: I didn't know there was going to be a season two. I also felt like there wasn't enough marketing or buzz around the first season because I thought that the first half of season one WAS season 1 until I saw a random post on Twitter about the rest of the episodes. I agree that the marketing and access to Earthspark is very much to blame for people not knowing about it. I had to watch it by other means that we're not Paramount Plus because my household doesn't have that subscription. At the same time I think the longest running Transformers series that wasn't G1 was Transformers Prime with 3 seasons, a TV movie, and technically Robots in Disguise being the sequel for that show. I'm more surprised Earthspark got a season 2.

Im gonna say it, and ill die on this hill... Hasbro needs to collab with an anime production team and reproduce, remaster and re tell the stories of the unicron trilogy, all one art style, no 3d art style like energon, and a story thatcmakes more sense

I’ve been saying this for years: we just need another season or two of Transformers: Prime. The best there is. Or, a reboot of Beast Wars… this time with better animations. hell, combine the two

Man, I feel so sad because of route season 2 took. I was hoping for a relaxing, comfort food slice of life show where Decepticons try to adjust to living on earth after the war. But nope. We have to end things off with Starscream backstabbing everyone again…

It was rumored that Transformers: One will also start it's own show, just like it started with the Clone Wars.

Transformers and TMNT getting smacked about is something that always makes me sad. Happy every time they reinvent. But let your creative team create! Let them finish their stories

Soooo interesting thing about this! I literally talked to Nick Roche (who's the character designer of EarthSpark) earlier today on Twitter, and he mentioned that while he cannot confirm whether or not EarthSpark is getting a Season 3, he DID say that he is "very busy" lately and has been "talking quite a bit with the EarthSpark production team", so take that however you will. IMO in my opinion, I definitely think Protoman is right in that a new Transformers show is being worked on, but I wouldn't outright say that EarthSpark is cancelled just yet. I believe this might be a situation like how Prime and Rescue Bots were airing at the same time, or Cyberverse and Rescue Bots Academy were airing together. But anyway, guess we'll find out when we get closer to EarthSpark Season 2's finale. I can provide links to all these sources if necessary.

Man, I could sure use some *_GOOD_* Transformers news right now. Rise of the Beasts bombing, Reactivate being in production hell, the backlash to Transformers One, *_THIS_* - when’s it gonna end? But anyway, if they do make another new show, I hope they go back to more of a Prime or Animated approach - taking itself more seriously and being made as much for more mature audiences as it is for kids, but not afraid to still have fun with itself.

While I haven't seen Earthspark, I really hope it doesn't end with plot threads left unresolved. On the subject of Transformers series never being revived, didn't Hasbro continue G1 with Beast Wars? Then revive Beast Wars with the Netflix War for Cybertron series and the IDW comics? Also crossing my fingers that the next Transformers series is Animated season 4.

I like Earthspark's take on Optimus and Megatron as two bestie dummies, and Transformers:One looks like a follow-up to that 😂

What a shame that such a show like this being cancelled after its second season.

Ever since TFP ended, Transformers cartoons have been on a downward spiral in terms of quality. Robots In DIsguise pretty much killed the Alligned Continuity, Cyberverse failed to reach a broad audience, Rescue Bots Academy existed, and now Earthspark not only got slapped onto a dying streaming service, but had bad writing and an inconsistent schedule to boot. A real shame because we could've been reveling in a new era of Transformers cartoons, which unfortunately isn't taking off like it used too.

Earthspark had a lot of cool ideas and some beautiful animation. It's a shame but the whole situation was weird from the beginning. They barely promoted this show

These shows are, above all, commercials for toys. Since the toys aren't selling, I don't find it surprising there's talk of canceling the show-especially with the deep, dark financial hole that Hasbro's in.

I want the next Transformers show to be a stealth sequel to Earthspark. But in all seriousness, F*ck Paramount and Hasbro and there inept, greedy asses and there audacity to screw over this show the way they did, it was scummy and inexcusable. A lot of people are sad about the news but I’m F*cking pissed.

This is no surprise, the writing wasn’t actually that great. Toy sales will always be affected by writing or even production quality. Not to mention Paramount+ is pretty much only used for some kids shows, and there are much better ones than this to watch. Hasbro’s best bet for a show would be to make something a bit more mature and for older audiences.

It’s unfortunate, I loved Earthspark despite it being as inaccessible to watch as possible. Toys could have been better quality, cause I really liked the terrans. Hopefully they didn’t plan on a season three and suddenly had it cut to two like so many great shows

I'm 33 and Earthspark was my first show but I've also got fleeting memories of my childhood in the early 90s of G2 ads and G1 reruns and having both Optimus Prime and Starscream as imaginary friends. So it wasn't my first series at the same time. I was drawn into it by Starscream because he felt so familiar to me and also my best friend wanted to watch the show with me because she's a big TF fan. I just fell in love with this show immediately. I'm going to miss it but I'm not surprised by this. I thought we were never going to get season 2 myself.

I never liked how the earthspark characters looked, and their toys are pretty unremarkable too. The humans look like ventriloquist puppets.

Another thing in favor of week-to-week releases over streaming is *discourse*. With streaming, you're really only able to talk about the show as whole overall for about a month before the viewers start talking about other shows until a trailer for a new season drops. With wtw however, depending on the quality, episode length and seasonal length, you can grab an audiences attention so much longer and keep the conversations going long after the season has already ended.

hear me out: the invincible animated series has been popping off robert kirkman (creator of invincible) owns skybound comics who are making the rebooted transformers comics he also wrote some of the comics earlier on will we get a mature transformers animated show in the invincible style (way less gore and violence obviously) that could have the potential to be the greatest transformers series of all time.

The problem is they made too much crap, Earthspark and ROTB both had terrible lines of gimmick toys that don't sell. All I see are flip changers, smash changers, thumb puppets. While I see a 10 year old grab a studio series cliffjumper. Had they made deluxe toys and not all those gimmicky crap they'd gotten way more sales. Also new molds like can we have Nova Storm, not be a cybertverse repaint. The show was alright. Looking forward to watching it.

It would be cool if the next transformers show could be a Beast Wars reboot either that or a proper Transformers Prime sequel with actual good story telling and character development unlike RID 2015.

Transformers Prime was the last good TF animated series.

Im be honest I really didn't like the way they made optimus in this show because and overall i really didn't liked the human characters as soon i saw the two kids and the mom and her bf i really wanted to blow my brains out because that's how much i had a felt about the show overall so im not very surprised of it being canceled

What a shame. It seems like for the shows with a lot of potential, they end up getting the short end of the stick, unless the next series is a sequel like Energon is to Armada. But there's absolutely no guarantees either

The show tried to connect itself to G1. It should have been its own story. If your gonna do G1 then you have to make sure to make it a worthwhile continuation from the Transformers G1 show. Then they included the they/them episode which turn alot of fans of the show. No need to include gender identity stuff in a kids show. Hopefully they get it right on the next series.

I really hate Earthspark character models (Optimus' face was atrocious. I absolutely love the models of the Terrans, but I feel like they fucked over a few of the legacy characters as far as design goes). I also don't think they handled Megatrons redemtion well. Also, they made Starscream the big bad of the next season? I'm very dissapointed. I wish he got his redemtion as well.

This stinks that Transformers Earthspark is being cancelled because I love the characters especially Twitch she is adorable.

I'd like to think that this will help Hasbro realize that they need to come up with a new approach for the toys aimed at kids. Kids were clearly not interested in the Cyberverse or Earthspark toys. But this is Hasbro. I'm sure the next toyline will be more of the same.

I knew it wasn't gonna last long, unfortunately. Having an animated show hosted on 1 streaming service with little to no marketing is basically a death wish. If they do end up making a new show, I hope they don't end up making the same mistake

Well, not surprisingly the toys weren't selling well and it has poor viewership because people don't care or don't like it. Hopefully the new Transformers cartoon will be more excitement like Prime and Animated.

I think what a lot of people are forgetting is that most transformers franchises only stick around for 3 to 4 years. After that, the kids have grown up a bit and have lost interest. Then it's time to hit the reset button to focus on the batch of kids. By the time Earthspark ends its second season it will have been around for roughly 3 years and reached the end of lifespan.

That's what happens when you boot the competent writers out and put in the interns, said interns did a character assassination of what the previous team did (Starscream really got the shaft, could've had a good arc like his Armada counterpart).

Just gonna say that a few of the problems with how the episodes were released would've been easily solvable if it was cable TV. Not that it had to all be cable TV, cus some do benefit from it, but for earthspark in particular the piracy wouldn't have been so high if it wasn't isolated to Paramount+ in it's release. Another case of money burning itself instead of rising higher like the execs wanted

They need to do a solid G1 series, minus the gaping plot holes and animation glitches of the original, and without all the Primus/All spark crap. And they can introduce Unicron as a common enemy as some point, but not as the planet earth. That was so Friggin' stupid. It would be really cool if they went all the way back to an Alpha Trion origin story, and worked their way up to Prime vs. Megs in the great war, from Cybertron to Earth.

So the toys and the show sucked...lets move on

Well they did kinda butchered most of the decepticons character development from season 1 and made them "your typical villians" in season 2 im not surprised its cancelled i really wanna see a Transformers Animated season 4.

I just don’t want Earthspark to end on a huge cliffhanger. Season 1 at least ended on a positive and satisfying note, but shows usually like to go bigger in their second seasons so I’m really scared!

Man that truly sucks that another good show is seeing potential cancelation. And before some people get they all “oh it’s because it’s woke, hee hoo!”. It’s not “forced identity politics”, it’s called representation for smaller minority and LGBTQ groups. Especially when they handled it fairly well in the show. Paramount not being the best streaming service, and Nickelodeon being, well Nickelodeon. Didn’t help that the network has so much negativity surrounding it, so that’s even less incentive for people to try and watch it. It’s more of a hassle. Then you got grown ass people being but hurt that it’s “not what they like” and criticize it that it’s not the same as what they grew up with. This was more for kids today, let them have something fun like you did when you were a kid! As much as I wish it wasn’t suffering the same abrupt cancellation as Prime and Animated, Earthspark really did have so many things stacked against it😞

There was an idea I had where they should make a adult animated show like Archer for low profile Decepticons (kinda scavengers-esque), or alternatively about the Wreckers

I honestly am upset about it for a couple of reasons 1. With how little they developed most characters 53 episodes isn’t enough to actually flesh them out 2. I just don’t understand how the people working on shows just cancel them because they made a mistake like poor distribution, lack of interest in toys, etc and sometimes it’s because of bad ratings and they cancel tons of projects if something fails and I don’t think it’s fair. like just because the last knight bombed doesn’t mean paramount had to cancel the whole cinematic universe they were working on the concepts they were working on had potential. I’m still sad we never got that live action transformers show 3. Like you said the way they are releasing episodes is not that good and it doesn’t build up hype for the next episodes because they all release together 4. Going back my point about how little development each character has i think the issue with that is because there’s not enough filler episodes the show is very plot driven and even when there’s a filler episode it’s just the same characters and it honestly feels like anyone who isn’t a Terran,malto, mandroid, bee, Optimus or Megatron is just a cameo and i know most people don’t like filler episodes but i disagree they actually give the characters actual character development and makes us like them more and can still acknowledge the plot of the show or actually move the plot forward . Take prime for example it had a lot of filler episodes and you honestly couldn’t tell because they all have something to do with the main plot (with the exception of grill) and they also give us more insight into the characters for example if it weren’t for all those flashback episodes with arcee I don’t think she would be as beloved as she is today. Shows need to have filler episodes it allows us to get closer to the characters and it’s okay for a show to be almost all filler like g1. But earthspark is in desperate need of filler episodes

I love Earthspark! It’s like a comfort show for me. It’s such a shame this show is getting cancelled, it deserves so much more.

Another reason this show is being cancelled is because of the whole Nightshade controversy.

As slow as it goes, we'll take what we can. Much like Transformers Animated, it will still be precious even when it ends.

The Nightshade pronoun episode probably had a big hit on the ratings of the show. There was a lot of backlash and a lot of parents said they won't let their kids watch it because of that episode.

personally season 2 seems so far like a huge letdown from what i was expecting. The quality in animation design seems to have lowered and it bothers me alot how the new characters seem like reskins of other characters (season 1 already gave me uncanny valley but somehow the trailer makes it look worse). its a huge shame too because season 1, while not perfect, did had alot of potential :/ if they are gonna make a new show i really do hope its better quality at least visually, cause at the end of the day if something doesnt look good people just wont watch it..

Earthspark looks garbage

At this point, they should REALLY listen to the fans to get a successful show. Granted, chances are they won't listen and end up continuously making failing shows.

I think a large part of Earthspark's issues come on the writing. They created a lot of problems for themselves that really didn't need exsist. Having the Autobots and "good guy" knowing lock up Decepticons to save themselves when they've seen the poor conditions those bots are kept in is a pretty bad look. It would be even worse if they knew they were being tortured, experimented on, milked etc. We don't know the extent of Prime's knowledge, but it's more than nothing. It could be said this is to create a sort of moral grey area where there are no good guys, but season two appears to be setting decepticons up as evil and the show itself tries it's very best to frame the Autobots and Megatron as the "good guys". At one point Eilita even decides that when grimlock is having a PTSD attack in town where there are almost no people, the correct course of action is to try and murder him instead of capturing him? That along with g1 characters being gender bent into women for no reason (a trend Cyberverse started) when we have at least five unused g1 female characters is baffling. There's also a ton of female characters from others shows and the comics that deserve more screentime, but instead get this? I love Transformers, been a fan for years but I struggle to find as much to like with this series. It had potential, but it struggles hard to keep it.

I feel like they should give up the constant 3D or CGI movies. As far as I know, there’s been no recent 2D transformers movies. It could change things up for once.

I hope the animation takes an X-Men '97 approach.

Please let this be true. It should have been canceled after season 1 actually. The only thing that kept this show going at all was the Dr. What the hell was going through the minds of the makers of the show when they decided to include the fictional non-binary crap into a Transformers thing for kids? It's bad enough we got all these other monstrous atrocities of the LGBTQRSTUVWXY AND Z Cult showing up more and more in even children's related stuff simply because the people in charge just want to get money as opposed to creating good s*** that will earn them that money

I am sad to see Transformers Earthspark go, but the next Transformers series I like to buy Transformers toys made by Takara Tomy

It could also be due to it being on a streaming service, people probably don't have the money to spend on the service so, they don't bother where as if it was on the television were it could be recorded without needing to spend the money on is more easier. Also there's probably not alot of shows on the streaming service that either haven't already been watched or just not interesting enough to warrant a subscription for.

I’m using Paramount+ for both transformers and the loud house, which I haven’t checked whether season six is on there or not.

4:50 the show was also on Amazon Prime, which is how I watched it cause my mama has Prime.... heh *Prime*, puns. Also, I don't know if I would actually watch the show if it was weekly; I would wait that year and then watch it all.

If we get a new show, I hope it pays more attention to Optimus and Megatron, allowing us to see their burning hatred of each other. Sorta what we're getting in Transformers One. And if that is the case, I hope their designs take inspiration from the Covenant of Primus.
