I got the Ruination repaint from Ebay a few years ago. I took it over to a kids house and the boys loved the seperate figures. They knew they wer transformers but when I combined them they wer totaly cautght offguard. Thier is just something about g1 toys that makes them so apealing to me. The detail on the figures or just the mechanical look and way they transform. Manny new transformer toys are too detailed or rounded looking more like a person waring a car and it takes away that mechanical look transformers wer designed to be.
I had the G2 version of this toy as a kid and it was one of my favorites. Unfortunately, it mysteriously disappeared during a move along with a bunch of my other vintage toys. Still don’t know if it was my folks getting rid of my stuff or the moving company.
Dam!!! I am So Sorry for you dude My Toys from when I was 7/5 years old Are all Gone to Bro I know How it feels... I Never had Transformers Toys before but they are very Cool. And I wish I had more...😞
@@HarleyWalkerhw0709 I had a lot of great vintage toys as a kid-stuff like a Robocop action figure, the G1 Optimus (a post-movie reissue) and the like that would get lost or broken growing up. One particularly memorable toy was the transforming hover tank from the second generation of Robotech-that one I managed to keep hold of for a long time before it got lost during a move (it stayed with me through three separate family relocations: Virginia to Maryland, back to Virginia, then to Hawaii). Having military parents meant having to move a LOT. Unlike with some of my other childhood toys, I was eventually able to get a suitable replacement for my collection: the MMC Assaultus combiner (in G2 colors, naturally). I highly recommend the set if you can get a hold of it-it’s really good-looking, has great shelf presence, and is sturdy as heck.

I find the designes of the g1 toys so cool. Despite verious advances in toys over the years thier is just something about the amount of detail put into these toys they just have something about work and charecter in them that I just find so apealing.
When I was 7 to 12 back in the 80s, I wished they added more detail to the transformers. Now, I see that it is over the top. Way too many details although they are fine in their own way.
Before I became familiar with Transformers G1, I grew up on Robots in Disguise 2001/Car Robots and I own the Hasbro version of the Combaticons molds known as the Commandos. The Commandos were Mega-Octane, Movor, Ro-Tor, Rollbar and Armorhide and they would combine to form Ruination. Because when I was growing up, I had no idea that R.I.D. '01 Ruination/Car Robots Baldigus was G1 Bruticus.
and now i feel dirty that the ruination i grew up on was just a cheap (by which i mean expensive) rerelease of a g1 toy. glad right now i just have is team bullet train and build team
I feel ure pain I had a teddy bear at 3 years I loved it and my mum just soled it to people I've never heard of can't remember there names but I hate her for it 😭😭😭😭😩😫😫😫😩😩😩😩
It is beyond me why 603 people dislike this? The Combaticons which formed Bruticus and included my favourite Decepticon Swindle espcially were the greatest of Combining Transformer G1 toys. Bruticus could even use Vortex's helicopter blade as weapon like I use love doing when playing with these as a kid. How much more awesome can you get out of a childhood!
Mark Rodrigues you know what's even more pathatetic, "watching" someone playing with toys and then commenting about it....lol.....seriously Mark, go away. Do everyone a fav and De-activate your you tube account.
I loved those toys. I never completed the whole of Bruticus (missing Swindle and Blastoff) but I was so saddened by the fact, that I got a Ruination set of off ebay a couple years ago.
I bought this entire set, robot by robot, as a kid using money I earned raking leaves and mowing lawns. Maybe that’s why I have such fond memories of these particular Transformers. I especially partial to the Space Shuttle and the Helicopter.
In keeping with the theme of combat vehicles, I never understood why Blast Off was a space shuttle. There's nothing combat-related about him at all. If he had to be an air-born vehicle, he could've been a fighter jet or maybe some kind of helicopter different from Vortex. Or maybe he could've been one of those amphibious troop and cargo-carrying vehicles. Also, if memory serves me correctly, you can use Onslaught as an extension for Trypticon when he's in battle station mode. He attaches to one of the legs for extra armament.
@@TheOmegazerox- RiD killed it for most of us. I mean, Autobots vs. Beast Wars style Predacons and an Autobot that kept getting distracted because he's always horny for this woman's car.
hah i remember having this video bookmarked on my moms old laptop and i always wondered why whenever i clicked youtube it took me here. I miss you thank you for the memories
It's something about the G1 transformers that make them so cool I don't have to many G1 characters but I have: Grimlock Swindle Soundwave Astrotrain Hoist Percepter (might be spelled wrong) Grapple Silverbolt
Bobby Stinklehoffer Yeah its iconic. Much like superion and defensor they retained their g1 ish head. Bruticus i think will too. With menasor they took more liberty. Btw I own wave 1 + 2 and 3 is comming in as wel speak haha. noted that I do not get all leaders and legends. I'm in doubt for the thundercracker just doesn't sit well with me neither the megs. But the Ultra Magnus looks sweet.
David Nieuwenhuis if you can, you should get Appolyon(probably spelled it wrong),I heard that it is a good redux Masterpiece Megatron if you want G1 Megs.
Vortex was never a plane. He was always a helicopter. The combaticons only have three forms. Brawl, Swindle, Vortex, and Blast off each have their vehicle, robot, and limb mode. Onslaught has his vehicle, robot and chest mode. The only triple changers for the deceptions are Astrotrain, Bliztwing, and Octane.
Man, I just started getting interested in Transformers and I remember all those different robots and parts from back when I was 5 or 6...man I'm gonna cry cause I'm pretty sure they are lost to oblivion right now! I'll have to go on a deep dive of my old toy bins hopefully I can find some awesome G1 or even some newer figures! Wish me luck and have a great day! 🤞🤙
Vortex, yeah same thing happened with mine. The head assembly just shattered when I tried to transform it. You can see the damage in vehicle form while part of Bruticus, but need to find another one sometime.
These were the only complete set of combiners I owned as a child,I had the center piece to others motormaster, silverbolt, ect they did come with the hands, feet and head to menosaur and superion but never could seem to complete them.
I got the rid decepticons and took it to a friends house. The two boys thier could tell these wer transformers (they recognized the autobot and decepticon logos) but they were not exspecting I could combine them.
Vortex is my 2nd favorite Combaticon because he makes a great addition to my Trypticon and his two helipads. I actually have both G1 version and G2 version of vortex for both helipads. Onslaught is my favorite Combaticon.
MY SWEET GOOD OLD MEMORIES FROM MY CHILDHOOD CAME UP TO LIFE ONCE AGAIN! BACK TO THE 1980`s! I REALLY BELIEVE BY THAT TIME AS A CHILD, I STARTED TO BE HEAVILY INSPIRED WITH GUNS & ARTILLERY! INCLUDING ARMADA TANKS & MILITARY CARS! UNTIL UP TO THIS DAY!!!🥰💝🤩😎👍✌😊💖
Before I hit play I could tell this is the Macau variant with a gray chest plate hands head and feet , it’s not made in Japan it is a G1 they were made for Gig Sets. The US didn’t get a set only Japan and Italy and the Italian version is made in Macau. Open worth 150 sealed up to 500
The Combaticons are WARRING! Onslaught is ROARING! He is one mighty metamorphin' DUDICUS! They all combine and kick Superion's behind as the big, bad, battling, BRUTICUS!
My brother owned Vortex and Swindle, part of the family fun was going to a cousin's house because he owned Onslaught and Blast Off to (almost) make Bruticus
How very simple things were back then, my Jinbao Oversized Bruticus Decepticons K.O. stands 19 inches and each combaticon is almost leader class size AND most of all actually look like their animated counter parts
I still have the ORIGINAL Onslaught(Minus the canon) and a few years ago I also had the Blastoff and Swindle. Not sure what happened to them but I know where Onslaught is and he brings back some good memories.
Yeaah... the tank brawl goes first... my mom got it for me when I was a kid... it was a total surprised for me... I still have it somewhere hihihi... my sister got the orange car.
35 years later , I still remember theses toys.. I've never complete cause the only day I've Seen 'onslaught' on a market my mom said 'no it's not your birthday..' never found it again and today the biggest regret I feel in my childhood. One day i'll buy him on eBay , just for revenge 😂
Yes you're right. Astrotrain is a triple-changer that transforms into a train and a space shuttle. Blastoff, which is one of the combaticons in the video, can only transform into a space shuttle.
Brawl's a Leopard tank, Vortex's a SH-2 Seasprite helicopter, Blast Off's a space shuttle, Swindle's a FMC XR311 military jeep and Onslaught's a military truck
I remember that my grandmother buy me this, I am not sure if they were the originals, because they were painted different, but I didn’t care about that, I just cared that my grandmother buy me this set, even though I didn’t know who they were until later on
Those are rub stickers. When you rub the sticker with your finger it heats up and reveals the faction. Those Decepticons stickers you see were added from a sticker sheet. Probably from repro labels.
You know, all of the 1986/1987 combiners don't have designated limb locations. The limbs can go anywhere on the torso. These types of combiners are known as "Scramble City-style" combiners.
Devastator was part of the 1985 lineup (though I don't doubt that it came out in time for Christmas in 1984, like Skids did), and was the very first combiner. Scramble City-style combiners did not appear in the toyline until 1986 (though I assume that Superion and Menasor were released in time for the 1985 Christmas season, since their debut episodes aired around that time). Devastator is what I consider a six-bot combiner. In my Transformers headcanon, six-bot combiners are large and intimidating, but easily overpowered by Scramble City-style combiners. The Japanese-exclusive toy Raiden is also a six-bot combiner, though in my headcanon, he's a powerhouse compared to the outclassed Devastator.
Good luck! Also do not just buy everything on sight. Inspect the fotos going with it. And be prepared for some loose joints in particular places with certain figures. I spend 3 months getting my Bruticus complete. Just got my Onslaught and Blast off today in great condition. Both with diecast. My vortex is unbroken though 1 loose balljoint but for 30 euros that is a bargain. Both Swindle and Brawl are in good condition. Everything is complete with mine and I spend about 150 euros total to get this complete. And must say I am very pleased to merge them from all over the country and abroad and form Bruticus!
@@dgray3771 Cool.i ordered a new onslaught and blastoff from America. I live in Germany and they have cheap combiners.original from the 80s.i just ordered Seacons and a bruticus for my uncle, I ship it too him.thanks for these vids.
@@allenmcfarlinmcfarlin8440 Onslaught is expensive complete. Though I got mine complete in near condition for 55 euros. In my own country, the Netherlands. So price really depends on where and what. I Got my G1-Wildrider in Germany btw. Still looking for a Motormaster within decent price range, complete and stickered up. Not " too busted up".
I never noticed that Onslaught had that removable chest piece (6:40) . I got the Combaticons for Christmas of '86. It's still somewhere in my mom's basement. I should see if I have the part.
i used to watch this stuff a long time ago now i found you again, woo! i love these things. I do wish i had more transformers toys but you know moneyb and junk
