Transformers LEGACY Deluxe Class DEAD END Review + MENASOR Combination 

I find the Stunticons to be an interesting bunch. Motormaster is obsessed with being the best, Dragstrip is obsessed with victory, Dead End is depressed, Breakdown is paranoid, and Wildrider really only wants to destroy things. Yet, despite all of their differences, they manage to have 4 things in common: they are all fiercely loyal to Megatron, they all staunchly hate the Autobots, they're all horrifically psychotic, and they all despise each other more than anything else.

"Kind of reminds me of a ski mask" - That would make sense as Rumble stole Dead End's vehicle form from a bunch of bank robbers.

It would be really funny if you did a Transformers Energon video of Drag Strip and Dead End doing a Powerlinx combination with Drag Strip having Dead End’s lower half and Dead End with Drag Strip’s lower half, please do that PrimevsPrime

Hey Prime have you seen that new third-party triple changing drift from Age of Extinction. They managed to capture the car mode in robot mode perfectly while also squeezing in a cybertronian helicopter

I actually think Dead end looks amazing. He’s actually pretty accurate. The only inaccuracies are the placement of the wheels. In the cartoon the wheels on his legs should be on the inside of his legs, rather than the outside and his feet should be a little bit bigger. The placement of the wheels on his shoulders are almost accurate. They are supposed to be his shoulders, though I think this figure does it better IMO. I’m slightly biased as Dead ends design is my favourite out of the Stunticons, I love the combination of the maroon red, silver black and his purple visor it’s so sleek and beautiful and I love his car mode too. One of the best transformer designs from G1 in my opinion. I think once we get Breakdown they will all look fantastic together. Hopefully we will get more combiners later on in legacy such as devastator and Bruticus. I suspect we will receive an Autobot combiner for the next wave perhaps The Aerobots fingers crossed. Xx

The fun question is, can you combine the separate halves with Drag Strip?

Would love for Hasbro to do a Bruticus next. Most specifically a Baldigus/Ruination to match with their Scourge.

Honestly, I'd rather the compromises for the deluxe boys instead of them actually becoming the limbs, simply because I have a feeling that Hasbro/Takara would somehow manage to butcher them more to try and make it work. Best be grateful that they are the way they are and not potentially worse for the sake of accuracy

Tbh I hope we get a 3rd party upgrade kit that's just for the legs for Drag Strip and Dead End, easy instalation when you separate the let's for combine mode, it just goes the same way for the individual figures. Just an idea but I'm overall super excited for the finished set!

Breakdown was my favourite of the stunticon cars , I'm hoping they manage to go all out and make a decent rival to sideswipe an sunstreaker as a alt mode partner

I think he looks great. And if you're having to choose a form to prioritise, with the Stunticons I think it has to be vehicle mode just because of who and what they are. I've no problem with the legs; you've got Motormaster who has to be the centrepiece so DE's not doing anything fundamentally wrong for me.

Dang, I haven’t even seen Wildrider in stores yet and here’s Dead End

I found the problem with the rear end of his car mode -- the heel spikes aren't actually supposed to sit flush with the back window; instead they click in deeper, and then everything lines up with much less panel line gaps. There's some more little tabs that need to be 'well squozen' along the sides and so on, but once you get the heels down all the way it works much better. I have to say that I REALLY love how the front end of the car transforms -- it's really clever! Such a pity they handed the back end off to an intern to finish up 😛

Am I the only one who actually kinda likes the robot modes a little bit more than in combined mode? I think they look cool individually and have more detail than menasor. I'm probably gonna keep transforming then and displaying them in all their modes because I like them all

I like the looks of the figure myself. The Stunticons were always a bit simplistic. I am actually surprised their transformations are as involved as they are. 😅. Plus, the feet are not that bad. 😅

I think ,considering Dead End splits perfectly in the middle,some 3rd party could definitely make an upgrade for his lower regions,like a completely redesigned lower part.I think that'd be pretty cool.

I never realized until just a few days ago that my grandfathers car is the same model as dead end. My grandfathers car was dark green though. I’m gonna get all of them but dead end holds a higher spot on my list for this reason.

Funny that you said treat Dead End like Jazz where he gets split in half, because if I recall correctly. It was Jazz who was disguise as Dead End when the Autobot made themselves look like the Stunticons.

Since I'm all-in on this combiner group, I figured I'd be ALL-IN and get the DNA kit for Motormaster/Menasor. Really looking forward to having all the group someday. Next year?

I missed out this Dead End and I was very upset. So when I out of sheer luck found 3!!! G2 Dead Ends, I went nuts and bought all 3 of them because of my love for the guy. That crimson grapefruit red!!! It's something to behold...

for the legs, my complaint is that if they did the ankle rotating on the other side, they could have done a waist-rotation-then-tighs-rotation transformation, so it would have had the wheels in the inner side of the lower leg, accurate to his character model. You can still do it, but you lose the ankle articulation.

I hope Hasbro wises up and releases a gift set of Menasor.

8 months between this review and me actually finding one in a store. We’re at distribution timelines akin to first movie trailers until opening weekend here.

I think your problem isnt really that his leg section has been awfully handled, but more so that he's essentially a dragstrip retool

His transformation is like a dragstrip/wildrider combine

I’m glad you pointed out the kibble management on the backpack - seems like there’s NO REASON why dead end couldn’t have done the same thing, given how he basically does nothing in combined mode. The retired splitting of the backpack on Dead End made no sense It appears the feet on Wild Rider care just slot/nubs like Drag Strip, so they can be replaced by a better looking 3P upgrade easily enough. The ankle upgrade with the pins might actually fit without modification

I agree that the back of the legs are a bit large. I would have liked them to collapse a bit more, maybe a fold around the front like in other figures. Also that ground clearance in car mode should have been addressed pre-production. Here's hoping there's a 3rd party fix in the works. Aside from those two details (not deal-breakers at all) I think he looks great. I think they all (Stunticons) have a brilliant and menacing (pun intended) aesthetic, and the combined mode is looking very nice. I can't wait to see my favorite evil Lamborghini to complete this group.

I think this Menasor is more animation accurate to his g1 look Which is why Manasor was given those incomplete limbs.

Dead End looks okay, he looks good but the legs kinda look bad lol. At least the vehicle mode looks nice.

I think you might be to harsh dead end is definitely a heavy retool of dragstrip like how breckdown will be a heavy retool of wild rider so that's why his feet are that way because that's the way they were on dragstrip just remolded for a different vehicle. Wild rider also had to have a compromise made in order to for menasor's heel that is why he has the backpack. Dragstrip is flatter because hes an f1 car dead end is not so he will have a small gap. The wheels not touching the ground may be annoying I'll see when I get it in my hands. As for motormaster's trailer move on I think it looks fine collectors like you are just so picky.

Now all we need is Breakdown and we'll be a-ok if they also made more combiners like Predaking and Pirahnacon since they're the only combiners I like more than Devastator and Menasor lol.

Finally got mine yesterday, and I don't have the issue with the front wheels not touching the ground or rolling. I have the hood snapped in tighter, I think, and that's probably the difference.

I just started collecting these guys, I have the first 3, now I'm just waiting for Dead End and Breakdown. I'm hoping I didn't miss the chance to get Dead End though, he's showing up out of stock everywhere, and Amazon's listing is hidden. Although he's stated to be released in January. Maybe I'm just getting a tiny bit paranoid is all.

I really think Dead End looks good, Burt what I want to know is why does he need to be perfect or more complex? They’re supposed to be fun and cool toys to play with, are they not?

It may be hard to find now but I really hope you'll still get a chance to check out the arch core Frost light combiner. It's currently my favorite line of transforming figures and the final piece to the combiner being the Mad Max style trailer for the truck has just released. And it's shaping up to be one badass Mad Max/ Warhammer 40K style Optimus Prime

One wonders if it might be worth shaving down that bit that sticks down under his front bumper. You'd have to be careful, of course, but that would make it roll better and connect to the Menasor arm better.

It's no doubt that PvP gained a lot of popularity because he gets his Transformers reviews out earlier than others, but apart from that, he is actually an amazing Transformers reviewer, providing us with a satisfying analysis of each figure, a thorough and honest overview of their pros and cons, good size comparisons, good robot and vehicle mode shots, etc. Plus he is pretty well active on social media as well as sites like tfw2005. Nowadays, I look forward to seeing his reviews more than the actual figure reveals themselves. Keep up the awesome work, PvP! 💯

You could Dead Ends guns in backwards on Menasaur and he get small wrist cannons I think. I like that.

I really hope they do a Legacy Off-Road figure. While sure, Wild Rider is the OG, I think Off-Road is better. He has more personality to me, and also, he gives more variety to the team. Edit: I also at least just want Dead End and Dragstrip so I can combine them

I think a big improvement from the combiner wars Menasor. To think, the first combiner I got was Ruination... and he was not good at all.

Without knowing what the final limb bot shall look like I wonder if customizers might do him up as Rage.

So far I don't see any clear plastic being used on the stunticons (Except wildrider) and they look great! Maybe Hasbro should stop using clear plastic and just use paint

i like him, yes, feet could be better, but overall he´s great and the whole group looks amazing and cohesive together in bot as well as car modes. what bothers me more is the clearance issue in car mode. i hate when a car can´t roll properly. and menasor as a whole looks absolutely fantastic. can´t what to finish him.

Hasbro did us dirty & remolded Breakdown after Wild Rider, slapped some white paint, & threw on a Countach spoiler on him. Guess the ppl at Hasbro doesn’t give a crap that Wild Rider is a Ferrari 308 & Breakdown is a Lamborghini Countach.

Dead ends my favorite out of the bunch. His beefy legs only make me love him more cause hes goofy and i like goofy.

I'm after looking back at this and Legacy Wildrider and, correct me if I'm wrong, but they could have probably used Wildrider's leg transformation here without compromising the sculpt or separating function for combined mode. It just seems like they decided that they'd retool the Dragstrip transformation completely, rather than think it through and do a 50:50 combination of Dragstrip and Wildrider.

In theory, since the lower half is detachable, someone devoted enough could make a custom lower body to fix the problem

It's concerning that PVP is already getting a Wave 3 figure when Wave 2 figures have yet to hit Retail in North America. I think Wave 3 is going to be hard to find in Retail.

Hope DNA gives some Menasor hand options.
