...And then God Ginrai shows up and takes over the whole series. One of my biggest problems with this series and the next (Victory) was how one character completely dominated each show. I loved the concept of humans turning into Transformers (and vice-versa)!
Great memories from 1991!! I LOVE with no measure the HEAD MASTER, TARGET MASTER, PRETENDER, POWER MASTER AND VICTORY ERA!! Writer & Journalist. Action figures collector since 1981.
I find it really hilarious how *_super simplistic and vacant these pretenders transformations are_* , like how many of the autobot forms *_barely fold and clump up their limbs out of the way_* so their vehicle mode doesn't glaringly obviously look like a robot trying to disguise itself as an earthen vehicle xD it's like a grown up human trying to hide behind a thin street post
not sure if anyone gives a shit but if you are stoned like me atm then you can stream all of the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. Have been streaming with my brother for the last days =)
METALHAWK is a great scientist and swordsman. He once worked as an astrophysicist at the observatory on Nova Point. Like all great Autobot leaders, he is a warm, noble being with a great love of life, liberty and all of that, and like all those other great leaders, he also got lost when he left to Cyberton to seek energon sources during the Stone Age.
Watching this makes me wanna see more Pretenders characters besides Bomb-Burst,Skullgrin,Iganus, and Metalhawk in Legacy someday such as some of my favorite ones like Chainclaw of the Pretender Beasts,Cloudburst, and Crossblades. And as for the Headmaster Jr's I also wanna see GoShooter and Cancer too lol.
The way the the Headmaster Juniors have to contort their bodies into heads isn't *that* outrageous. It's godmasters like Ginrai who have to do the splits then bend their knees sideways to turn into an engine that make it complicated.
just so you would know if Megatron actually saw them & that his army were being disrespected Megatron would seriously do some serious damage to these so called pretenders i assuming that’s their names but the real Decepticon’s Would put a bunch of bullets in those humans going around pretending to be The Real Decepticon’s plus Megatron would rip out their whatever they got that powers them up & sends them to their death’s
@@akmalfakhruddin7285 Galvatron is dead at this point too...he dies twice in Headmasters...he's revived later and becomes Super Megatron in supplemental materials that follow after Victory/Zone.
@@gerardbezak2147 Basically because the Pretenders are all Primes, hiding out on Earth to avoid the war...and the Godmasters make the Pretenders look like chumps.
I always wonder if there is any possibilities to make toys which can transform between pretender mode and robot mode which can still transform to vehicles.
Since Daniel teamed up with Arcee, and became the first junior Headmaster back then in G1 Season 4, the Japanese Headmaster continuity skip generation for the setting of Earth humans combining with transformers. Well, it makes sense, considering the fact Fortress Maximus will return as the new leader of Cybertrons/Autobots, which essentially means Spike can not be his pilot anymore. But well, junior Headmasters, humans who become the most powerful transformers, such stuff all comes back in Super God Masterforce series! ^v< b
The planet and the "autobots" are both called Cybertron in the Japanese continuity...the Decepticons are Destrons. The name is just pronounced slightly different (Seibātoron), but it's still spelled Cybertron,.
the planet is Cybertron and the the Autobots are called Cybertrons as well. The Decepticons are presented as being Destrons from another planet altogether, rather than the same race as the Autobots
Is there nobody who can translate these into English? What good is watching these when nobody, except the Japanese speaking people, knows what they are saying?
Japanese G1 continuity followed this order: *Season 1 >> Season 2 >> Scramble City >> The Movie (retroactively) >> Season 3 >> Headmasters >> Masterforce >> Victory >> Zone* That's not including all of the tie-in manga stories and everything else, just the animation. Seasons 1 and 2 of the US cartoon aired in Japan, then soon after the OVA Scramble City was made. The movie wasn't released at that time, so they jumped right to Season 3. After that, Headmasters was made, and written to follow the same continuity. Masterforce was like a soft-reboot, mostly ignoring everything that came before unless it was convenient for the plot (which wasn't often). Victory and the OVA Zone brought back a few older characters and concepts, but were otherwise felt mostly detached.
I like japanese series more than original G1, especially Victory. They lack well-written explanation a bit, but the animation, music and fight choreography are great.
What did Toei do? Hasbro develops Ugly Pretender toy that's an idea. Rather Takara and Toei look better Anime has power. Don't you understand how amazing it is when you look at the drawing?
@@akiratakayama6653 And these Pretender haters that grew up with that overrated Sunbow G1 cartoon call themselves "real" Transformers fans, Primus would be ashamed lmao.
