Transformers One - Official Trailer REACTION & BREAKDOWN 

Its finally here! And it looks better than I thought! What do you guys think about the designs and voice acting?

The fact that Chris Hemsworth actually worked with Peter Cullen in order to get Orion/Optimus’ voice right honestly shows how well he fits into the role.

I like it. Obviously, they showed the more comedic aspect to grab general audiences, which makes me more excited for the serious moments teased in the trailer

The people who are complaining about the humor in this movie have clearly never watched G1.

I think the difficulty some are having with this movies approach is partly because movies are a whole other space for TF that has its own sorta isolated fanbase. Like the comedy and tone make sense to me cause ive seen g1, Beast wars, the animes, unicron trilogy, animated, earthspark, even prime despite its darker tone got funny. But a lot of general audiences have only seen the hyperserious Bayverse thats an outlier. The glimpses we saw of the more standard Optimus and Megatron tell me that most aint ready for where this is going.

I'm okay with the designs though

As a fan of animation i love the look of this movie, like the recent TMNT movie or the Spiderverse movies i think the animation looks detailed and great. People should be patient and give this a chance.

Optimus Prime and Megatron as adolescent teens. Didn't know robots grew like humans. Were thy babies once in the crib wearing diapers too? Not for me. Made for children.

In my head canon I keep thinking of when Elita One was Aireal then to go with that name her alt mode would be a jet. And in timelines where Orion was an archivist then her job would be as a chronicler (reporter). A way how their work would get them to meet and she would get blocked off by her superiors when trying to expose the corruption of Cybertron's leadership.

Honestly the trailer looks amazing. You can kind of tell that they change the storyline a little bit which in my opinion is a little worrisome. I am also a little bummed about the voice's for Megatron because he is supposed to have this really deep voice but hey that's just me. One thing I kinda don't like is how Cybertron kinda looks like something straight out of Buzz Light-year but other then that I'm excited to see the movie and it looks good.

Im in the middle with this Animation is top notch I like the designs But the tone threw me all off and the VA that im impressed were chris Hemsworth& scarlet Johansen

Definitely looks different but still good, gives me GOTG vibes and Chris Hemsworth sounds pretty good as Orion Pax. Only thing worrying me is the mixed reaction from the general audience (more about the tone than animation).

I need to prefix my criticism with they do not apply to the animators, the movie looks beautiful gorgeous even, now I hope it’s good but will not be disappointed if it’s bad, The retcons and changes to the lore got an eye raise but they cooking we gotta let them finish, was hoping for a more serious (not bey seriousness but more arcane) tone kinda feels like their attempt at spider verse Excited for it nonetheless hope it’s a banger

Paramount doing a literal rocket launch for the trailer's launch..... I was wondering how much the statue world tour cost then but I'm certain a rocket launch is a lot more expensive. WTF Paramount. I think a lot of fans are going to have a hard time accepting new VAs even though it makes sense. Even in the G1 episode about the past, Cullen doesn't voice Pax. Also not blocky style like G1 so uh-oh, but I know the goal is to try to get fans from all eras(?) to watch, but the diehard G1 fans will not be pleased. The designs are good for me. Going to be good except for the fans comments. I've already learned from RoTB, stay off social media but I'm supporting your channel.

I’m not the biggest fan of the animation it seems like Lightyear and wayyyy too bright. Character designs aren’t terrible and I hope there are some more serious notes in the movie

Honestly. As much as i like the style for TF ONE... i hated the bumblebee movie but loved the design when the first 2 minutes didplayed cybertron. I preferred if we had a movie based on bumblebee's cybertron

At first I was very hyped (I still am) for this movie, but so much so that I was falling into the trap of letting any criticism and negative reviews of this trailer get to me, even though I understood that the more PG to G vibes from this trailer (including the more cartoony, human looking faces) would put a lot of people off! And I stopped myself from getting caught up in that. With my rose-tinted glasses off, I admit that this trailer, while awesome, does focus more on the comedic scenes, which die-hard transformers fans most likely would get put off by. So I understand why it seems that half are hesitant or angry, and half are on board and optimistic (pun intended) about it! (I also completely understand the mixed feelings on the more cartoony mouths. I will admit I would’ve preferred them making their faces just a little bit more mechanical looking. Nothing like super detailed, as that would’ve been really expensive and probably destroyed all the rendering GPUs and stuff! But maybe some slight segmented lines in their faces to look a bit more like different pieces of metal that move to form all the facial expressions. HOWEVER…I LOVE THE EYES! AND I LOVE THE OVERALL LOOK OF IT! I think they struck the PERFECT balance between the more cartoony yet gritty look of Transformers Prime, the more cartoony CGI look of Transformers Earthspark, and the more detailed realistic look of the Bumblebee Movie and Rise of the Beasts!) I’d say on the scale of Ugly Sonic oopsie to FNAF Red Eyes overreaction, I’d say any disdain this trailer is getting, while understandable, is more on the “Red Eyes overreaction” side. Not to say I won’t listen to critiques, as that is important. But I’m gonna make sure I’m in the right headspace first!

Ive seen people on reddit that dislike that kid humor and the fact they act somewhat like teenagers. This is the first real movie depiction(other than comics and snippets of the shows) of the golden age of cybertron. Plus transformers is supposed to be tailored FOR KIDS.

so transformers mixed with guardians of the galaxy and I'm not sure what to think about megaton being voiced by a black guy and no it's not because he's black it's because he just doesn't have that Megatron type of voice even if it is before he turned evil😕

The humor made me wanna throw up. Transformers Prime was a "kids" show and even that show's humor and dialogue was executed far better than this.
