Fun fact- In the comics the ark was meant to crash as an attempt to bring Megatron down with them and Optimus was the only member of the ark’s crew that knew that. But despite that he didn’t abandon his comrades. He stayed with his men and went down with the ship.

If I could make a suggestion, how about having Hauler on the ground instead of Ratchet during the oil rig battle? It could imply that he died during the battle and explain why he never appeared again in the show.
