Transformers Studio Series Voyager Class GALVATRON Review 

While certainly not my favourite design. I will always have a certain respect for any transforming AoE Galvatron figures based on the fact they had to engineer a transformation that even the movie couldn’t be arsed to come up with.

I know it’s physically janky looking but it’s legitimately shocking to see galvatron of all figures have zero major kibble and some of the articulation seen in a mainline transformer to date

Respect is given when it's deserved. Hasbro nailed it so well. This Galvatron actually has less visible kibbles than his 2014 toy.

Galvatron's metallic mustache looks like he's going to tell me about Ninjago lore

I think it would have been pretty easy for them to have the toes fold down flat to form the trailer hitch but a plate-former is better than a shell-former any day.

See, to me they should have made him a leader class, and filled out some of the gaps on the figure, and given him larger arms and a bigger cannon, but considering what they had to work with in the voyager class budget I'm very impressed

Imagine we had a gimmick where you get like a little controller and it has the options to pull apart into millions of pieces and have Galvatron either in Robot or Vehicle mode.

I understand that the vehicle had to be sacrificed to make the robot mode and I think it was a good decision by Hasbro, the real star here is the robot mode, great review btw! 🔥

Feels like this transformation scheme would work just as well for some SS AOE/TLK Prime figures. Legs are similarity proportioned, Prime’s kibbleless body needs that inside out truck gimmick, and both have rounded out shoulder armor. Would also be great if the truck bed could be cleaned up some more.

I don't think the cannon size is really all that far off from the CG model, if you rewatch the chase scene with the Autobots where he uses it. The original Voyager's cannon was actually pretty oversized compared to the final design

Underrated design! So glad that handgun is removable. The promo art for some reason made it look like it was his molded hand. He's really good considering he's a Voyager! I think he looks best when just default standing there MENACINGLY. His skinny arms and square torso start to look a bit off in dynamic poses. Dat headsculpt/paint tho. And they deserve major props for that transformation!

He should've been a leader with more parts to beef up his arms and round out his chest. Could've even have been a heavy retool of the DOTM leader with how the truck like panel-forms up into his legs and torso. I think it could've worked.

Im surprised a third party hasnt made the 'transforming cube effects' for the figures. It would be cool to have a pose with some of the particles attached to the figure somehow

Just bought this. Simply blown away by the engineering.

0:36 THIS!!!! This gives me hope they will make AOE Prime perfect! The fact a voyager AOE Figure like Galvatron has 0 KIBBLE in the back shows how much time and effort the designer took with this one!

When SS AOE Galvatron was first revealed, it looked a little weird at first but as more pictures of him come in, he looks better. Hopefully we can get an upgrade kit especially a slighter larger hand cannon that is more detailed. Hopefully he will get retooled into the Robotnik’s truck from the first Sonic movie for the Transformers Collaborative line if Hasbro can because Paramount reused him and blacked him out with red lights and a trailer. The good thing from about the SS version is that he is more cleaner especially back. I still have the original Hasbro version but I wouldn’t mind picking the new one up but the TLK Voyager OP mold is a little bit too big. Hopefully we can get SS TLK Megs down the line since the SS line has almost done all Megatron’s from the original movies including Galvatron which he still technically was.

I’m glad we got Galavtron but I still would love to see the rest of the Dinobots from AOE as well!

Hopefully with galvatron being released that means a new age of extinction optimus prime is coming

I just picked up this figure and I am really impressed with the engineering. I do wish that they could've made the feet maybe a little smaller so they could tuck away a little better but besides that, I think this figure is awesome! So happy I copped the last one 😁

Holy sheet! He is here, no doubt this scales with AOE/TLK prime perfectly, the possibility is the main appeal to me, i love they design this figure! Also amazing review mate!

I was finally able to get one of these off amazon. I love this figure. Transformation is so fun and both modes are great (despite some drawbacks). It's really incredible that they were able to make an even halfway decent figure from this crazy-ass design. It gives me hope that they will treat Knight Optimus right and not have him be a kibblefest like the TLK voyager. BTW, to close the gap in the top of the truck better, you should rotate the head around for alt mode. It'll come together a bit more cleanly!

It's always fun whenever a Transformer with 2 wildly different modes makes you question "HOW THE F?" at first glance. SS Sentinel Prime was one of those for me, and while this Galvatron IMO doesn't come anywhere close to that level, it does a pretty decent job, all things considered. He's got flaws, but I'm sure some 3rd party will probably sell an upgrade kit down the line. I'll definitely pick him up if I can find it.

It definitely looks better in hand than it did in those promo pictures. I do wish it had a consistent silver paint/plastic, but I could understand budget constraints.

You know what could make this figure even better? A silver dry brush to bring out ALL the details, it can make this guy look SO good

They've done well considering the logistical nightmare that was the design. Are his proportions janky? Absolutely. Could they have done better without turning it into a third party-level of complexity? Probably not. However the arm cannon is a bit of a let down, it looks too small and has I can't manage to suspend my disbelief regarding how incomplete the mold is. The OG figure had a better arm cannon

When I transform my copy the cab of the truck is aiming upwards abit and the plate next to the front rims aren't flat is there a fix?

I'm disappointed that the clavicles aren't painted as they were shown on the render images, neither does the cannon. But he still looks great. Very impressive figure.

loads better than that horror of a figure we got for the AoE line... i'm just not sure about the transformation... the engineering is excellent but i just don't think it's a lot of fun to transform... also, perhaps do an update video comparing his robot mode with the 2014 AoE version so we can really appreciate how much better this version is 👍🏻 well done as always bro 👍🏻😀

What a great review prime and figure aswell but one question I have is who is #86 in the live action ss line?

INSTANTLY AMAZED!!! I AM DEFFENETLY BUTING THIS IN NOVEMBER

Seeing this guy on Thew's 2023 top 10 convinced me to finally grab him off Amazon today. That and I still needed a Trashmaster in the collection. Never had the original or really any of the AOE toyline. As a voyager other than the chunky chest he looks amazing with the paint, killer head sculpt, and improved articulation. Excited to get him, but considering scale and last years ROTB Scourge, this would would succeed much better as a Leader class figure as an updated Prime would. Next to previous movie SS Megatron figures he's simply to short and stubby to pair up with any one other than an already outdated Prime. Original truck mode definitely looks cleaner but for a shell former it's expected.

Just got this and from the instruction booklet, you can store the missile launcher in his chest in robot mode and under the cabin in truck mode. Pretty neat!

I have this one and the 2014 and I’m actually a fan of the Studio Series because even though it’s smaller and has his legs sticking g out in the back. I think it’s pretty cool because it’s been 8 years and they have really improved so I like the SS more than the original

is it possible to have a review of the movie the best tlk megatron? I wa thinking to get this gavatron and the mtb to have all voyager megatrons from the movies but I´m not sure

I am not a huge Bayformer fan and I can’t afford the MP designs but this guy is pretty cool! I have grown to really like his truck mode. He looks bad-ass.

I um…haven’t been watching for a while, been preoccupied with other things, luckily I got a job, so I’ll be able to start getting more figures again, and I’ll use your videos to help decide if I buy them or not!

I really hope this is a sneak peek at the type of engineering they're planning for AoE/TLK Optimus

Not gonna lie, I'm impressed with him enough that I'll be picking him up when he's released. He's definitely better than the AOE Voyager class. But he's not perfect. Like other people have said, he should've been a Leader Class. But with the budget they had and what they had to work with, he's good enough for me.

Galvatron and thundercracker are available to purchase and I'm torn on who to get, they both look so damn good.

Can't wait for my local target and Walmart to have this in stock... next year... Maybe two

I think a neat way to “fix” the feet on the trailer hitch would be by some 3rd party making a trailer for this guy that splits into armour that increases his accuracy and bulks him up to the same size as megatron

I think this is a really fair and honest review of this figure. I'm sick of people going "it sucks!" and not really taking into consideration what they have to accomplish for $30. You don't have to love it but damn, show some respect for what they had to do.

He looks good. Better then that last one. I still don't like this design for Galvatron, but still props to Hasbro. I have all the movie Megs so this guy will fit nicely. The gun he comes with is way to small. Hopefully DNA gives this guy a much needed upgrade.

As of writing this, he’s available on Hasbro Pulse again… i didnt get him initially cause he was still lackluster imo, but now I think this might be the best we get for awhile. What do yall recommend?

There might be an upgrade kit for galvatron for his arm blade and some areas for him

I think all he needs is big guns. I’ll find a way to hook them onto the feet in truck mode hollow space always allows for some kind of fudge tab

I hope they can include a upgrade kit for both his robot much (such as the arms and the chest) and his vehicle mode (the toes) along giving him a new blaster

Ok quick question regarding SS, so as we know they have made some earthrise/kingdom figures that fit in with the 86 series(like cyclonus and springer) but seeing as we have a ultra magnus from earth rise. Do you guys thing that they will make a new ultra magnus for SS 86?

Seeing those legs transformation with the tires make me want to see hasbro making a show accurate Animated Optimus Prime.

I have a feeling someone will make a custom ROTB Optimus Primal figure out of this, mainly by the chest

robot mode is definitely an upgrade, if Mechanical Alliance can do to this Galvatron what they did with the Constructicons then that would probably go great in scale with the rest of Studio Series

I'd like to see an upgrade kit that redesigns the feet to resemble the function of bumblebee Optimus, replaces the weapon, and fills the holes. I'd also buy a trailer/ko that went into robotnik's truck.

Must we always sacrifice wrist articulation for transformation? I feel like this has gotten worse with newer figures.

Imo I think he actually looks a lot better than some of those early photos. I was very on the fence when I saw those pictures but I’m glad I preordered it anyways. Edit: I would love to see the upgrade kit dna will do with one

Really like the toy, if they made it with a leader class budget it would have been even better, but still in voyager they did a great job, can't wait to see a SS AoE/TLK Optimus, a SS TLK Megatron and the SS RotF Fallen.

Now I'm just waiting for the Leader Class SS: ROTF The Fallen Core Class SS: DOTM Lazerbeak Deluxe Class SS: AOE Crosshairs & Deluxe Class SS: TLK Hot Rod But I still need too get these figures Deluxe Class SS: DOTM Bumblebee & ROTF Sideways Voyager Class: TFBB Thundercracker & AOE Galvatron as well.. Same with Premium finished figures too and getting Deluxe class Deluxe class SS: Deluxe TFBB Ironhide & Arcee.

This is great all he needs now is the rest of the is drones and this would look epic Also this guy may capture the seed

I just picked up this figure I was really impressed with it but I transformed it and the put the rone part in for the side and now he won't transform but I'm happy with the robot mode to just display and pose

It would be cool to see a galvatron toy that you had take apart and put back together in order to transform it

I could definitely paint the arm blades and parts of the missile cluster silver on mine along with painting center of the cannon in a copper color to make it more accurate. Easily fixable. Otherwise, it’s perfect and way better in my opinion, compared to the original 2014 figure

Small detail, but noticed that the rear wheels pin isn't black line front wheels. No big deal took a sharpie and colored them black

Someone should definitely make a trailer for him but not just a plain trailer that turns into some sort of gun or something but a trailer that can actually combined with and incorporate the robot mode just for fun

Vehicle modes are something that exist before the character is designed, so they should look the part. The robot can look like anything, and that includes having vehicle mode kibble. Just look at movie Bumblebee's door wings or basically any Starscream's jet wings. Because of that, I much prefer the robot mode having kibble to the vehicle mode.

i already hope that there`ll be a dna design kit to replace the arms,legs and a better weapon for this galvatron figure i hope they do that for us

Ok, this fig is actually impressive to me now. Theyve done a really good job in hiding all the truck parts and giving him decent articulation and proportions

I hope DNA design works on a kit for Galvatron's arms and blades. Idk how, but they've def done some wonders in the past.

I think it's kind of silly that on the underside of the vehicle you can see that there's a big gap that the feet could have folded into. They should've done that and then had the weapon store on the actual trailer like it usually does.

Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't Prime use his energon armblade to stab Galvatron through the chest

I think their ss are improving.. and I;m gonna add this to my wishlist
