Transformers Studio Series Voyager Class SOUNDWAVE Bumblebee Movie Review 

Is this one of the BEST studio series figures of all time?!

I simply CANNOT wait to get him. So thrilled about this.

Actually, Michael Bay convinced Travis Knight to do the Cybertron scene in the beginning of the movie. So, if you think about it, Michael Bay is responsible for all of the Cybertronian designs in the first movie.

I actually like the alt mode. The shape makes it look like some kind of stealth craft, which would definitely suit Soundwave’s character.

His alt mode doesn't look that bad... if you have the right imagination, lol. I think it would help if only you could place the cannon in the middle. Finger crossed, the Rise of The Beast will do him justice and give him a proper alt mode.

I like to imagine Soundwave flying over the battlefield and dropping Ravage on unsuspecting Autobots in his hovercraft mode.

It remains me of the Fall of Cybertron game series. God I would love for them to do that in the Studio Series line.

I feel like Hasbro/Takara don't know what to do with Soundwave alt mode. Both his siege and Bumblebee figures only look like something if you use a lot of imagination and his earth mode is an outdated product. But I think they maybe thinking too much, both WFC game and animated just made him a car with some of his iconic design elements and I'm plenty happy with those.

the vehicle mode doesn't look that bad..when you look at it more it looks like an armored hover tank

"Decepticons, ATTACK!" I can't wait to get this guy and having him eject Core Class Ravage.

this guy does seem pretty good honestly. Robot mode looks amazing, scales pretty well. Alt mode is whatever but thats pretty on par with Cybertronian Soundwaves at this point. I just feel like they should've made the tabs for the shoulders lock in better, since them falling apart is a little annoying. Wrist rotation was also really possible, honestly, guess they just didn't want to do it. My biggest gripe right now is how the entire lower torso is on a panel, rather than on the waist joint. It just doesn't look too good and wouldn't really even impact the alt mode if it _was_ fused to the hips real shame he's got no lamp mode but we could probably screw around to get it done

I'll actually get him primarily for his alt mode. The first CGI promo pictures of him didn't show him from a good angle but after having seen actual pictures and videos of him I really like the hovercraft mode. And the drop ship feature is pretty nice.

Oh man can't wait for PVP to get his hands on the new ROTB Scourge soon haha

Man this and the Bumblebee movie Starscream seem to be two of studio series best

For the hovercraft i actually turn the head around to conceal the face and it honestly makes a whole lot of a difference, i do feel that the legs shooting back are annoying while transforming, cause you have to find the sweet spot for the feet to tab in, that's for my particular copy at least

I think it's actually a pretty cool vehicle mode. It looks like some sort of cybertronian dropship that can eject the minibots from underneath.

Man. As someone who used to hate the G1 designs, I gotta say, now that I'm older, I absolutely adore them. Something about them just WORKS, especially in the newer movies such as "Bumblebee" and "ROTB" The designs are simple yet super appealing. Honestly, I prefer them over the overcomplicated mess that is the Bayformers designs. If I were a kid in the 80s I would have eaten this stuff up.

Figure looks amazing! Those wrists could've very easily been a classic ball joint which would open the door for interchangeable hands. I can see someone using their 3D printer to make those modifications easily.

This actually looks good enough to be from 2011 or earlier. Actual panels. Reduced hollowness. The alt mode not just being limbs flipped inside. Actually looks really good

I honestly don’t mind his vehicle mode, I see it as a sort of Cybertronian hover vehicle. Kinda reminds me of something from the Wipeout video games

12:04 I always see this Alt Mode as sort of a Worker Craft(Probably for Producing and Carrying Energon Cubes) that has been Loaded with weaponry Because in comics in Cybertron's past Soundwave is part of the oppressed populous and were enslaved and judge by their Alt Modes and it reflects his Alt Mode as it is designed by Function rather than Style as later Cybertronians would have because he is nothing more than a worker if his Alt Mode works then it's good enough. And in later revolution happened Soundwave became a Decepticon and outfitted himself with weaponry

personally i think the best they could do to give him an earth alt mode is a military armored suv. as i do think that his chest section looks pretty similiar to the windshield of these armored suv's

I'm really liking how this figure's turned out and can't wait to get it in hand. Even the conversion entertains me because I could just transform to it, laugh at it, and transform it back.

I am really excited for this one. Soundwave has always been a favorite. The alt mode reminds me of the bat plane from Dark Knight Rises.

Ive said it before and I'll say it again. I usually HATE peoples music intros on youtube, theyre either obnoxious or way too long. But you have the cleanest, most pleasant music intros out of any transformer/toy reviewer I've seen online. Thanks for making it pleasant :)

I actually like his alt, I thought it was meant to be a tribute to bees alt in g1 (cybertronian) almost like a what if bee was evil, I thought it was a very nice abstract version of the sound wave we know and love

Maybe someday we'll get another Voyager Soundwave with an alt mode that doesn't suck. Not sure why it's so hard for HasTak to modernize Soundwave lately.

🥷🏻 If you keep the tripod like hatch flipped back so that it angles the hover tank and then if you angle the blasters so that they’re parallel with the floor it looks meaner and better resembles a hover tank. Of course I like doing the T pose tower transformation myself as it’s all mode.

Prime vs Primes perplexion about this alt mode is honestly the most relatable "bruh" moment ever

Honestly I really fw the alt mode. Soundwave is basically famous for transforming into a box, so thats what he does here. The hovercar reminds me of the batmobile from the nolan films, wich is kind of a weird design if you think about it but fans love it because of the way it was presented in its films. We never got to see soundwave transform into this in the movies. But I think if they showed him transform with some cool sound effects and advance with the wide frame of the car really menacingly, alot more fans could warm up to this.

In terms of the alt mode, while it is meh, they really should have put the cannon on the back so it has a proper weapons system. All it would have needed was a simple plug in port on either shoulder and in the alt mode, and it could have given the idea of a hovercraft, stealth tank.

Definitely in my bucket list of collecting Transformers Soundwave is one of them along with ravage and fingers crossed 🤞🏽 hasbro make studio series bumblebee movies shockwave in Voyager class

Great bot mode, although not my favorite character design. I do wish they had done some dry brushing on the white bits as they look SO WHITE. Oh well I can do that myself and I'll have fun doing it!

Wish his head could be hidden in alt mode. It's like the ROTF STUDIO SERIES SOUNDWAVE ALL OVER AGAIN. still a good figure. Can't wait to get him 💕

I can finally get a G1 Soundwave. Missed out on Siege and Earthrise Soundwave because of Scaplers. His alt mode is questionable but if you squint hard it looks like a hovercraft at least to me. He'll probably look better in flight like all flying bots.

his vehicle mode kinda looks like batman's tumbler in the batman begins movie, but just without the wheels

the only thing that will make it look better would be a gray dry brush to bring out the detail and make him look less clean

I'm getting The Dark Knight Rises bat aerial hovercraft vibes from BB Soundwave alt mode.

I have come from the future and this alt mode shall be quite a impact to the transformer one.

I really want to get him, because I KNOW he will go up in price.

I actually really like his alt mode. I think of it as an armoured vehicle of some sort, or like a highly armoured speeder used to zip into battle as a scout.

Prop it up like you did, open the top door (cockpit), place Ravage in there and pose him like he is coming out to attack- it all makes sense as a spaceship/hovercraft. I don’t know why people dislike this so much when all of the Studio Series Bumblebee molds look odd. Ratchet and Ironhide are…vans…I guess? Arcee is some odd flat tricycle, Bumblebee is a windowless car-like vehicle, and Braun is a ….driller? The only Autobots that look like normal vehicles are Prime and Wheeljack.

Fun fact that I discovered, since I have this Soundwave. He has secret light piping. But the light has to be more direct. Use a flashlight and the red plastic glows

Honestly, when I first saw the offical pic of this Soundwave's alt form, I thought it looked like he was doing that one pose distraught characters do when they slam their fists on the ground, hunch over, and cry lmaoooooooooooo

Alt mode is not as bad as I initially thought. Unfortunately the chest is totally rubbing on the floor in alt mode, no wonder yours has already begun chipping.

As abstract as his alternate mode looks, I still prefer it over the blocky ship mode that WFC Siege Soundwave has. I also tried to just revert the leg transformation in an attempt to turn him into a lamp post like he was in the first episode of the original cartoon. I can't wait to get Ravage. I might have to look at Target to find him.

i think its a good alt mode since they are basically on a different planet with vehicles unknown to us

Completely agree with the vehicle form, the arms were hard to click in with the feet without unclicking from the torso, robot mode is perfectly built.

Truth be told I feel his alt mode makes sense he's part of a race that has had different rules and history ya know he looks perfect as a hovercraft for a different species.

That alt-mode sucks majorly. Like a lot. But that bot mode's cool.

I like to believe the vehicle mode is some sort of heavy duty stealth military truck. And yes there are no tires, but perhaps it’s a hovering heavy duty stealthy military truck. It’s a stretch but that’s what I personally think it is.

He looks great... but his head shape makes it look like he's frowning. Everyone always asks "where is Soundwave", but no one ever asks "how is Soundwave?"

I actually can see some resemblance of a hovercraft of some sort from the alt mode if you look from an angle. What could have make it better though is if the gun could be placed on top of the vehicle mode thus making it a cybertronian tank.

@PrimeVsPrime The clear part is in alt mode is the cockpit, it is meant to be a hovertank or hovercraft which took vibes from fall of cybertron's Megatron

With the alternate mode you can take the shoulder gun, lift up the chest panel on top, and stick the gun in the little screw port underneath to make it look like a hover tank. Looks way better in my opinion.

The vehicle mode its based on a gi joe crossover design

Question is if this Soundwave would be Masterpiece quality if it had a metallic and a detail paint job.

All they had to do to make this look better is allow the shoulder cannon to peg into the top of the alt-mode to make him look more like a tank/artillery piece.

I like the 2 mode I think if you have some imagition you can see the hovercraft. But you know I am a kid so maybe you see it in a diferent way.

I like to imagine he transforms into a giant computer, one that the Decepticons would use for hacking things like Vector Sigma
