For me the creepy music felt not only different from the heroic autobot themes, but rather it felt fitting not just as the perspective of a ruthless decepticon, but in the department that you were destroying other, otherwise plot-armored, heroes. This track in particular stood out from the others, it wasn't heroic like the autobots, or powerful and tyrannical like the other decepticon themes, but rather it fitted the nightmare-inducing scenario of the memorable heroes on earth actually LOSING.

Yeah, EXACTLY! I used to kinda be scared of this track, it just set the mood of... killing loved heroes. Killing Bumblebee, killing Autobots.

Stormpants 1 (Sorry about this long comment) I know. My close friends at school and I loved Transformers as kids, and I watched the movie before playing the game adaptation. I was stoked that I could play as a Decepticon because I REALLY wanted to just go around and destroy things (I personally think the way buildings burned down in this game was a bit ahead of its time IMO), and I did. Then when I reached the Barricade chapter it set a different mood with this track though. Also, another thing that also set a sinister mood with this chapter was that even though the map was the same as the Bumblebee chapter, it was NIGHT and you were a menacing black and white decepticon instead of a vibrant yellow autobot like BB. THAT made everything 10x more foreboding, made possibly 15x if you were like me and played the part of BB before reaching the same area as Barricade, wondering how it's going to play out and praying deep down that the story will play out like the movie in the way that Barricade won't actually KILL Bumblebee. I think now especially that the developers had the goal I mentioned above in mind all along with at least the Barricade chapter. 😱😰

I was scared when I fought Bumblebee, I was killing a loved character. And yeah, the building destruction was also fun too, I thought it was incredible. WHY CAN’T MODERN GAMES DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT?!

Stormpants 1 Yeah, even as a kid I knew if Barricade killed Bumblebee in that fight, then there was only one way the Decepticon story was going to go: It was actually going to have the guts to portray an alternative story in which the autobots all died and the Decepticons won (which not only meant the heroes downfall but also humanity's). Also, you're right about the building destruction and it's lack in modern games like Transformers. Plenty of games have awesome destruction in cutscenes, as set pieces, or in Battlefield's case environments that are scared from the fights that happen, which all of that is fine and looks great on next-gen hardware, however when it comes to games like how Transformers were... yeah, I can't think of a game similar to this one in what it did. The Transformers games after this all followed a purely linear pattern and had no open worlds (which I actually understand was done to follow the movies whose stories didn't have the downtime the first one had, therefore not offering room for a free-roam formula if it was going to cohesively follow the movie's plots).

Me encantaba, cuando pequeño jugaba con Barricade y me gustaba repetir las misiones solo por este tema xD

@@Yelmerluzo69 A mi también, me gustaba repetir la última misión de Bumblebee en el Sector 7 sólo para oír el tema de fondo xD Pd: Esa es de lejos la misión más difícil del juego.

Skywarp esa? Na para mi la mas dificil era el combate de Ironhide cuando usabas a Blackout. PD: Una curiosidad, siempre que jugaba como Autobot el juego se quedaba pegado y me quedaba resetear la consola, pero con los decepticon nunca me paso xD
