Celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Transformers with the audio book adaptation of the 1986 Transformers film, done by Ladybird books. It's like nothing you have ever heard before!
1:18 *It is the year 2005. The treacherous Decepticons had conquered the Autobots' home planet of Cybertron. But from secret staging grounds on two of Cybertron's moons, the valiant Autobots prepare to retake their homeland.*
There was another version of this that someone made, where they did all the voiceovers themselves, and put the original music from the film behind. It's disappeared from RU-vid. Does anyone know where it might be? Or have a link to the creator?
Peter Marinker's voice throughout this made this fun to listen to as a kid, yeah some of the voices were a tad silly and the sound effects and lack of music was jarring. But this is pure nostalgia right here.
Peter Marinker also went on to do some roles in English dubs of Japanese animation that started being released in the West, such as Gerhard Donner in Manga Video’s _Venus Wars_ VHS release.
Stuff like this always confused me. Like, I understand "licensing" one property out to multiple companies, but would not the rights owner have the foresight to allow those licensees access to some core assets? Like, why are we hearing this without the classic transformation sounds? So strange.
I don't think that the TV shows and the books had any thing in common legally. If a book wanted to somehow get some sound effects from a TV show or some voice actor from the TV show they have to buy it. it probably wouldn't be considered important to the people who made the books who just did these for hundreds of properties. they just did everything in house with their own sound effects and their own voice actors.
It may be poor planning, but that's how it turned out. Hasbro didn't have the transforming sound anyways. That was something Sunbow did. So Ladybird would have to get it from Sunbow. Ladybird probably thought it wasn't worth the effort. I bet the adults making this were not fanboys, it was just a job of the week.
this might be my first time with this from my fave animated feature and while I find it a little boring, it might be a way to go for newcomers to this hot film - a cast of characters might be important for this story
You do realize that originally Hot Rod didn't cost OP life? Originally Optimus was suppose to die without Hot Rod afting in. Also Prime cost his own life. After Megs was done begging, Prime should've shut up and shot him and then talk. Don't be putting all the blame on Hot Rod. And besides this is a different adaption.
@@luvblueybingoheeler3150 Transformers Deviations comic says otherwise, in that Kup stop Hotrod form interfering in the fight and Megatron's shot with the pistol merely knicks the side of Prime's head and Prime responds by blowing Megatron's head off.
this creeped me out because of the music in the background ( its diffrent when watching for some reason ) is this the original or is it a fan made i really can,t remember lol
