@@powerrangerkid16 RID is what brought me back to Transformers. What a great line that was. Gonna have to dig my Super Fire Convoy out of storage and put him on display.
@@deltaknight2764 the legs dont help since the leg transformation is very similar, also the way the chest transforms making me think of the omega prime combination
I can kinda justify the size difference between siege and CW ultra magnus, as siege UM is the real one and CW UM is a copy made to keep the legend alive. legends always appear bigger than the heroes they're based on.
The armor gauntlets peg into place behind the head (the one that doesn't look like Optimus Prime) inside the trailer in vehicle mode so they don't rattle around.
They made a magnus that does the whole trailer mech thing....I MUST BUY IT IMMEDIATELY! THIS IS THE ONE MISSING GIMMICK THATS STOPPED ME FROM BUYING OTHER MAGNUS FIGURES
7:24 "I chook a look at-" Me: **spittake** Also, how did he not mention that the vehicle mode was reminiscent of Ultra Magnus' RID vehicle mode? In addition, the tranformation into Armored Ultra Magnus looked like it was inspired by the FansProject Ultra Magnus.
He's not perfect, but I like him. If anything the base Magnus robot is pretty cool and similar but distinct enough from Optimus Prime that he's not just another "white Prime." Good video, man.
Siege Prime & Magnus have similar but different heads as well Magnus' head is secured together by a screw, & has extra detail on the sides of the mouth guard finally his mouth guard ends flat where as Prime ends at a point. I think Magnus has the better voyager head.
Ehh not so much Takara post Titans return is matching exactly what hasbro releases (Dai Atlas set excluded) probably to save money after Takara lost the pokemon contract
@@slochedplays9585 I guess they could use the blue cab Powered Convoy and sell it at Delta Magnus and then sell just the cab in red as a new Optimus in the Voyager line. Or keep the cab unit and make him some Powermaster Optimus Prime kibble to combine with. If they are really clever they can make an Apex Armour deluxe Battlemaster to go with Optimus too. I've got used to seeing Magnus with a Hammer now though - so not having one is strange especially when he has two stray guns that don't do much other than replicate some of the kibble of the 2001 Magnus. I also wish he had an obvious front facing Autobot logo when combine with the trailer. I do like the inner robot a lot though - I'm a little sceptical of the unpainted abs.
I kind of miss his "80's action" tune at the beginning of most of his Classics/Generations reviews. Though anything is better than no music for the first 20 seconds lol
Spent today checking the local toy shops in the area....by the looks of things the prices will be on a par with the power of the primes...so roughly £20 for deluxe class.
5:33 Ultra Magnus: Leading autobots because Optimus gave him permission. Also Magnus talking to the autobots: FOR THE FINAL FREAKING TIME I AM NOT OPTIMUS PRIME
Good review. You're the first person I've seen peg the black guns to the side of the silver gun.I didn't know you could do that. I really like this figure. I think of all the recent "small figure with armor becomes a big robot" in Classics/Generations, he pulls it off the BEST. While I normally dont give a hoot about the inner core white robot, this looks so freaking awesome! I think he is worth the $50 despite being an inch or so shorter than 2015 CW Ultra Magnus.
I didn't think I'd like him but having him in hand I do. In full UM form I don't care for the feet that much, but he does look great. As for the size, I was initially put off, but they're establishing a whole new scale with this line it seems. They work with each other.
Great review as always Balt. One thing; @5:46 and @6:49 look closely at their face-plates; I could be wrong but to me it looks like their heads are different. A white Magnus that fully different from Optimus! Go figure.
I love the look of the figures, i could fuss that they are smaller than ish we have gotten before yet cost more, but thats just where we are right now🤷♂️
Each gauntlet has a 5mm wide hole. On the underside of the top deck of the trailer you can see a pair of parallel 5mm posts. Plug the gauntlets into these pegs. Also, the truck mode is based on God Magnus from Car Robot, not Ultra Magnus. Although the colours are Ultra Magnus. There's also a trick to making the shoulder pylons stay on. See the grey clip on each shoulder armour. See how there are thin grooves/slots. Now see how on the back of each shoulder is a narrow white tab. These narrow tabs plug into the slots on the grey clips.
I swear you’re at I think that’s French sound like the announcer for SpongeBob are used to love that sound but now he’s In a different place the actor who played sponge I mean
Liedercranz Ultra Magnus, he's the Big Cheese! I still like CW Magnus better, since he transforms as a single mechanism rather than partsformimg in to a power suit, and looks more G1 than even the ER remold of this, due to having Car Robot/RID'00 God Magnus's trailer design.
Just for the sake of knowing what the heck you're doing, Emgo316 has a Just Transform It video. Don't have to tell anyone, but watching you fumble is embarrassing. If you can Post a video, maybe check one out!
Okay, so I know you didn’t have the instructions with you but in his core robot mode you’re supposed to slide the butt bumper up the track along his back to stabilize him a bit more. Then you slide it back down when you clip on the torso portion of the city defender armor. EDIT: I should have watched a bit further before commenting. LOL
Ok, I'm going to be honest here Balt, your review was fine but this figure was disappointing for me. Yes it looks nice aesthetically but the transformation overall was weak and what really lets it down for me is the amount of parts-forming. I'm subbed to a few different reviewers and they've saved me a lot of money! That said though, there are lots that I would dearly love to own such as the tp masterpieces, but it's just having the money. *Sigh. A geek can dream.
I might get Magnus and combine him with galaxy upgrade optimus prime to make omega prime because Magnus in vehicle mode looks like his RID 2001 self and galaxy upgrade optimus prime’s design is from the same era
Omg I already want it so badly, idk why but I always like this version of Ultra Magnus, especially this figure as it has a far more unique mold compared to the Siege Optimus Prime which only makes it stand out more as it's own figure (I mean besides the power armor it comes with) all n all it's awesome and I hope if them make more Magnus figure like this one, seriously I definitely getting this one
Now that I have this toy, I have to say that this is one impressive figure... but I am really disappointed with the scale. My PotP Optimus towers over this thing, but this is quite a bit bigger than the Voyager class prime... and the leader class prime coming out is all gundam-ish.
have always hated the Prime's bitch Ultra Magnus. That white Robot just bothers me being called Ultra Magnus. But then again I'm old enough to have watched G1 and that always seems to cause issues. I do like the actual Ultra Magnus mode.
I think it's an okay figure (I wouldn't have paid $60 for one) but my cousin did buy me one for some reason. I still prefer the Combiner Wars version over it because there's no stupid inner robot.
Why can't he ever transform something properly. I'm sorry, I love your content. I watch it all the time. But, make sure you know the figure before you record it. It will make your channel that much better.
Over chunky, butt pack to large, has he ever seen the g1 aesthetics of ultra Magnus?, This figure literally looks exactly like it, and yes, he has red eyes, he has always had red eyes in his original robot alt mode, what are you talking about?🤔
6:57-7:00 No they do not. Magnus' has more details on the faceplate and his main antenna's are thinner. It just goes to show how much HasTak is really going the extra mile when it comes to giving us collectors a quality figure line.
the adding of pieces for a transformation sorta reminds me of transformers RID optimus and transformers RID ultra magnus... in fact, the vehicle mode is nearly identical to RID ultra magnus
I would like to see a Yuusha-style Magnus that fits a Minimus Ambus in the cab. If it's third-party, we could add a brain master gimmick to the inner figure for giggles, since the actual Minimus has to drive a giant version of himself.
I don't know if it's me but the head sculpts seem slightly different, the little crest seems a bit wider and this head sculpt seems more like a downscaled MP-10 one
I feel like siege is the bumblebee toy line. The Optimus from that movie and from siege look very similar and siege is probably the best toy line since combined wars.
Oddly enough the heads are actually not the same between this and Voyager Optimus either. Counting the lines inside this forehead crests on the two is the easiest way to tell. Not sure why they made a different head mold, doesn’t seem like they needed to, but they did.
Only complaint is that it seems that the fists could have been made so that they can retract into the forearms quite easily.. would have made the truck mode muck better..
Those black guns make me think there must be some kind of battle station mode for the trailer parts that isn't listed in the instructions They just tell you to put them on his legs in robot mode & facing down in truck mode
