In this episode I think I’m touching on either genius or madness, as I take a budget 26” MTB frame and convert it into a 700c flat bar gravel bike!

This requires some big adaptions to the frame, but nothing that cannot be done with patience and a ball hammer!
I’ll be doing a video on these changes in another episode - showing how it’s done too - but for today we are concentrating on the full conversion and its viability.
I’m going for a 3x9 groupset on this one, as well as v-brakes and racks for the full tour/bikepack options!

That looks like a great bike for touring - racks already fitted, just needs some mudguards, and it's away. Brilliant build.

Just found your channel. I'll always associate Derby with bikes as a proud Mercian owner, shame it's so nice I can't safely lock it around town! Enjoyed the video as I plan to do a 1x11 transmission change on a 90s mtb

my 930 has the 27.5.. I have a Brodie Bolt that is near identical geometry.. 700c 38mm with fenders. yeah easy peasy

I’ve got some cantis that could handle it - see what happens! 😁 haven’t built anything with a triple clanger for ages - maybe it’s time for the triple to make a comeback?

i am from turkey and i have got dawes kickback and also i have got 5 more cromly bikes and i can say that dawes is the most robost and flexiable frame
