On the back of our carport was a makeshift chicken coop that the previous renters had made. There wasn’t much to it, just a couple wood boxes screwed to the wall for the chickens to nest in and two sticks in the corners for the roosts.
Also the outside was quite the eye sore with a plywood board for a wall and a chain link gate to get inside.
It’s time to give this a makeover!
Using salvaged lumber that I rescued from a burn pile, I build a barn door for the coop along with new barn style chicken nest boxes. I painted the carport to match the house. We build a new wall and hung the new door.
I salvaged tin from a old building and used it to line the walls inside the coop.

Adorable. Nice to see people lining coops in metal. I do. Lol. So much easier. I drilled holes n hung on hooks so I can take out n hose off. Lol. I think these other people on you tube need to catch a clue. It's so much easier. Lol❤.

I personally use milk crates for the nesting boxes.

That’s what we used for our chickens growing up. They are easy to clean out.

Love this great job! Great to use some much reclaimed wood and such.. though would love to see you wear a mask when cleaning out the coop of all the old waste...chicken droppings are nasty and not great for the lungs...Beautiful work as always Jess

Thank you! 😊 Yeah I thought about wearing one but was to lazy to walk to the house to get one. 😬
