A new video from Cecilia is the highlight of my Saturday 🥹 The journey of the brass faucet truly reflects how passionate you are about creating beautiful, meaningful spaces. I love it! Thank you for being so honest about how long these types of projects take in the French countryside. I feel like in this digital world, we have this false notion that everything is fast and easy, which is not the case and leads us to becoming extremely inpatient. All beautiful things take time!
Wow, thank you! I can't help myself, once I visualize something in my head, I became possessed and have to try my super best to "scratch the itch" :) and it is true, projects take time, specially the inspired ones, and they take phases, they magic comes in between those pauses. I'll probably talk one day all about it, because it is fun to see the magic show up. My intention on this platform is to have fun and spread lots of joy and connect with myself and others doing things that we all love :) Thank you for the sweet comment, you are super appreciated!
I have been following your son and husband since he launched. I love that you came to Europe, found what fit for you and found an amazing home. Your eye to detail is very inspirational. I’m excited to see what you will do next. I am 1 years from retirement and planning on moving out of the USA. I too feel like after traveling the world , I don’t really connect with the lifestyle in the USA. Seeing your home makes me think about France country side as an option. You’re just a doll! I am thrilled for you.
the "I've never done it before but I'll go for it" mindset (when you mentioned making the wooden thingie) is everything💜 thank you for encouriging us to keep trying new things and to be creative🙏
Hello from Marin County, north of San Francisco! Thank you for sharing all your trials and tribulations as well as your creative process. I love your decisions and now I have more ideas to explore for my own home transformation.
This home is gorgeous with inspiring natural views. The perfect choice for artists! C'est enrichissant de vivre à la française, avec des fleurs embaumées dans un endroit bien aimé. 🌼🏠🥖☕🎨
So good to see you again Cecilia. The Kitchen looks perfect. I love the flowers and the rug is beautiful. Thank you for sharing some of your new life in France with us. Love from an elderly Dutch woman in California. ❤❤❤
I'm very inspired by your approach to creativity and I apreciate you talking about intuition and following your impulses. To me, you seem like an embodiment of an artist. I study theatre and I remember a lecture by an artist, a painter and sculpturer, who was laking about cultivating our sensitivity - you are showing how to cultivate, cherish and live the sensitivity in everyday life. I'm so happy you decided to start this channel!
Aww, what a beautiful comment. I can’t imagine my life without intuition, without tapping into that amazing flow of energy where time fades away, and exhaustion doesn’t exist, just pure bliss. Of course, it’s not like that all the time, but I strive to live in that space as much as I possibly can. I'll try to share more about that and the process in search of that, sometimes it is a struggle, sometimes we overthink things, sometimes it is magic. I super appreciate the comment and the support!!! Much love back to you :)
The tiles are my favorite part of your kitchen renovation thus far and I think it was a good choice to use the subway/rectangular rather than the square. It's timeless and elegant.
Exquisite & Very Tasteful. For the Fridge area do away with the old one, take away that fridge and build shelves on that space or add a built-in induction counter top, then identify another space altogether for the type of modern fridge you want to install and work-up a new space with cabinets for it.
Thank you so much for the suggestion, unfortunately, I don't have any other spot for it, trust me I tried, I really tried. Great thinking though :) I super appreciate the support!!!
Hi Cecilia, you are a great storyteller. The kitchen is looking fabulous. You are so brave to tackle that backsplash but it looks amazing. All the changes are great. Looking forward to continue watching the progress.
yay! for your beautiful, brass, vintage faucet! Totally get why this piece was a priority for your kitchen and worth the hassle and the price. I understand what you mean...aesthetically perfect :)
Soooo gorgeous! The orchid tile is perfection-thank you for sharing. We just built our home and the kitchen is tough! My favorite feature is the wood hood built by my other half - he added vertical plate storage & it’s so practical & beautiful.
Ha ha ha, I didn't want to bore you all, and I don't do all the crazy hyper perfect organization trending in social media. I just like thing orderly but not necessary perfect, just practical. Thank you for the support!!!
Thanks so much! 😊 I am giving a little sneak peek of my creations, for when I get the proper visa where I can re open my shop :) Thank you, yes, I love things organized in pretty jars whenever possible :)
6:32 Ordering the just-right faucet from Italy via New Zealand makes perfect sense to me! 😄 8:52 and 0:32 It took me years to recognize how much my environment affects me, and even longer to prioritize making it beautiful as a form of self-care and cultivating *JOY!* 😃 A non-artist friend once laughed at me for saying I feel tortured by certain ugly things that can't be changed in my apartment. But to me it really does feel like being constantly buzzed by a mosquito. Conversely, GOOD interior design plucks the same chords in me as the most beautiful fine art, music, or sublime natural view. Why NOT create that experience for yourself in your own home, especially with the things you interact with daily?! 😻 *Thank you for sharing your delightful and delightED approach to interior design!* 😄❤
Haha, you totally get me! I love it, we're in sync. I’m so lucky that my husband understands how much this impacts me, even though visuals don’t bother him like they do me. For him, it's sound that’s a trigger. The two of us are very sensitive, so we've learned what matters to each of us and always do our best to honor those needs. I love how you called it an act of self-care; I totally agree. The more we take care of ourselves, the better we can show up in the world! Thank you so much for your kind and wonderful comment, I truly appreciate you!
So far everything you've done is gorgeous. I can imagine your vision and really love what you're creating. 🥰 Do you sell your jewelry, and if so, where?
Thank you so much!!!! I do sell my jewelry, but I am currently waiting for the right visa to be able to reopen my shop :) that is coming soon and I will do a video about it :) Thank you for the support :)
Hey Cecilia! Great work and video! Thank you for the inspiration. :) maybe you already know this, but juste in case => it is apparently necessary for a refrigerator not to be too close from the wall, especialy at the back, to be able to release its heat. Maybe it is not as true with some newer types or some refrigerators made specialy to be inserted into kitchens cupboards, but just in case, maybe make sure you take that into account in your measurements (or maybe it is also better to ask someone who is a pro about that to be sure). ;) Have a great sunday!
Thank you so much for your suggestion :) working hard on the solution, i'll make sure to ask all the questions regarding installation and such! I super appreciate the love and support!!!
Honestly I thought the original kitchen was fine. BUT…now that you’ve explaining your reasonings in this video I completely understand! The almost finished product is fabulous!! The kitchen really reflects the light and invites everyone to look at the beautiful courtyard. Totally agree with the faucet being one’s most important kitchen feature. Is there any way to remove the interior wall next to the fridge?
Thank you so much! yeah the changes feel better to us, we love being here. And I am so glad you agree with the faucet, I find that people sometimes end up going with faucets that don't last and look basic when it is the most used and abuse item in any kitchen :) and it can be such a great sculptural statement :) Unfortunately, because it is a support wall, we can't mess with it without creating a BIG expensive project, so I have to come up with a clever solution. I'll take my time to solve it, as I want it to be long lasting and pretty, so stay tuned :) Thank you for the warm and kind comment :)
I am watching everything your doing like a hawk, because next Spring I am renovating my kitchen and I love your aesthetic. My kitchen is much smaller than yours, but I love the idea of stone, wood and ceramic tiles in a beautiful mixture of textures and reflective surfaces. I was wondering if you considered Quartzite instead of marble. The reason I'm asking is that I've read that Quartzite does not require a sealant like marble and does not stain. My kitchen does not have nearly as much counter space as your kitchen so I'm willing to spend a little more and not be bothered resealing marble in the future. I smiled when you spoke about the coffee situation. I do not offer coffee unless I'm having work being done over hours. I will offer a bottle of water if it's a hot day. Your coffee machine is very enticing, so I can understand the temptation. I watched Nathan's video about moving to the countryside and thought about you helping him decorate his place.
Aww, thank you so much! I’m so happy you’re enjoying what we’re doing :) I did consider quartzite, but I have a real obsession with marble, and I’m totally fine with all the natural wear and tear that comes with it. I love a home that feels lived-in. I’m not a fan of perfection, I actually enjoy when beautiful materials show signs of use over time. To me, it means they’ve been appreciated. I do love quartzite as well, and in some cases, it works just as beautifully as marble. And yes, I’ll definitely help him as long as he wants! I love the challenge of finding the perfect pieces that reflect what he likes and needs :) Thanks so much for all your support!
Love your style and thoroughly love your animated posturing...very full of life. Actually enjoy all of your family videos...what a group of intellectual characters!! Holidays or family meals would be wonderful in my imagination!! Also noticed your jewelery and would love to know how to purchase. Thank you for sharing the ups and downs of your design issues in a new country!!
Thank you so much! you are so sweet to follow us all, with four of us having channels, yes gatherings can get a bit crazy, specially in discussions about topics and what it matters to all of us. It is fun and exhausting at the same time :) Thank you for asking about my jewelry, I am waiting on the approval of my new working visa, so that I can re launch my online shop. I make everything myself, I solder it all my pendants and create one of a kind pieces. I will let you know when it is ready. I can't wait :) Thank you so much for love and much love back to you ❤️
@@AnArtistsLifeYT love silver jewelry and have noticed pieces you have worn and have liked the Bohemian/casual type style. Please let us know when it will be available. Would be great if before the holidays so I can treat myself for trying to be good this year!! Hope you all are doing well and enjoying life!!
Love your kitchen!! It’s beautiful as well as so light and airy. I cook A LOT also and I agree about needing the right aesthetics for you to feel comfortable. Love the marble countertops and the brass tap and handles! It’s really impressive watching you do all of this, especially in a foreign country. Look forward to your next video😊
Awwww, thank you, yes!!!! not easy to do all of this in a new country with limited language, but slowly we are accomplishing it :) Thank you so much for your support!!! I super appreciate the love!
Asking for coffee is NOT normal and rude even here in France. I never had anyone asking. I offer, which is very different ! I think they wanted to benefit from the doubt 😅 .....or the beautiful coffee machine ! In France, you're supposed to put suitable light fixtures for "water rooms" ( at least bathrooms and toilets - but I think kitchen 🤔) for security reasons so, maybe it was why the guy was skeptical... Last one : very unexpected to keep the bread in jars, very not french solution. Eggs are usually refrigerated at home but not in shops, that's true. Stunning decor already, well done !
Ha ha, I guess they see the machine and just can't resist! You’re probably right about the lights; he's really focused on following the code, which I appreciate, but sometimes I get confused about what's allowed. The glass jars came from a shop where, in one of the photos, they stored bread inside. I loved the idea, adopted it, and it’s been a great way to store bread while keeping breadcrumbs off the counter!
I love hearing about the differences between the U.S and other countries. I've never been outside the U.S so its educational for me :) They don't refrigerate the eggs? Weird lol
OMG! thank you! I do have a shop but I can't sell yet, I am waiting for the correct visa approval to be able to sell online again and re open my shop. I promise to announce it really soon (fingers cross) I make everything myself, I solder all my pendants, I create one of a kind pieces :) Thank you so much for asking and for your support!!! more to come soon :)
