Looks so much better, get those chargers off that valuable bench space straight away! Mount them individually on that cleat system you have installed, at least that way they can be moved around the workshop where and when needed

Second thought, if there is more than one of you working there and the different drills are being used for a specific purpose I would build more than on of those drill docks with specific drill / charger / batteries and attach them individually on cleats that way the whole thing can be moved around the workshop. Add a carry handle on top of them… seem petty but very helpful

Good shout on the chargers, it didnt even occur to me that I make want to take them to somewhere different lol 🤦‍♂️

Hi, Awesome new look. Would make an additional table. Fast, cheap andyou can always use it. Have fun. Did I understood correctly that you used Danish oil as finish? I know you did a lot of test but experience can always change...
@TheNaturalWorkshop
@TheNaturalWorkshop Год назад
Hey! Another table is definitely on the cards, it would work for bigger items for sure. Yes I used Danish on all of the tops. It works great, is cheap and Ive noticed that PU glue doesn't really seem to stick to it which is great as I use a lot of PU on outdoor projects

Drawers. Keep the moisture away from your hand tools in drawers. Especially with your lack of insulation.

Yeah, thats a good shout. Ive got a bunch to build, just got to decide how Im going to make them now!

Looks really good...I'd definitely spray the rest of the walls...painting blocks is a nightmare that no one should have to endure!

@TheNaturalWorkshop Год назад
Ha isnt it! The shed brush worked OK but it took a few coats. Defo going to wait for the warmer weather and just blitz it with the sprayer, I'll go insane otherwise lol

Nice transformation! Tidy workshop, tidy mind. Glad to see I'm not the only one who seems to have sawdust everywhere! You've got a lot more space than me but same concepts work for any size space. Using the walls, all vertical space as you've done. For me, I need flexibility so my table saw is on casters, as is mitre saw stand, bandsaw etc and workbench which doubles as outfeed and assembly table. For projects bigger than the bench, I use my saw and outfeed table as a work surface but push them further apart to support either end of whatever I'm working on and have a big gap inbetween. Maybe you could make a 4'x4' "extension table" and put it on lockable casters, and move it where it's needed to support your gates etc when needed?
@TheNaturalWorkshop
@TheNaturalWorkshop Год назад
Ha yeah, the mind needed a tidy thats for sure. I think I blew a whole bags worth of sawdust out of my head as well as the workshop lop. Yeah maybe I could get away with another table I can move around if needed. Would have to be able to clamp it to the other one for the gate work but that might work. Cheers for the idea!

Awesome reno M8! I'm wondering if the dark blue isn't going to show off the missed dust collection settled into the mortar lines and rough faces of the brick. As to the extendable table wings, what about pull-out cantilever beams under the main table. Take care & stay safe.
@TheNaturalWorkshop
@TheNaturalWorkshop Год назад
Ha yeah I did have the same thought about the Blue but I guess I'll have to clean it out more lol. Cantilever beams sounds like a good idea, I'll have a look and spend some time researching 👍🏼

That is not mess ! I had some really bad welding done by a mate that was my board racking collapse at the weekend and I am now three bays down and had to try and find space for about two tonnes of my most prized woods and now have all my "lowly" wood stored in a pile one the floor ( btw Scott and Sergeant are very cheap on 100mm hose was like £54 for 6m)
@TheNaturalWorkshop
@TheNaturalWorkshop Год назад
Good to know about SS on the hose, Ill keep that in mind as I will need some more soon, thanks! Sorry to hear about the racking, that sucks, I hope you have it almost sorted!!

People often say "what's the point it's just a workshop".. but I reckon that if you are going to spend a lot of time in a place then why not make it a nice place to be! Great job and I love the blue!
@TheNaturalWorkshop
@TheNaturalWorkshop Год назад
Yeah exactly mate. Ive spent the last couple years not really bothering but it makes it nicer to come into work, clients like it, it looks better for content and it makes me smile...so why not! Glad you like it and thanks for the kind words mate 😁
