Liberia annexing Texas and succeeding where the Golden Circle failed is exactly the kind of Paradox shitposting I come here for. Also, Caesar Tubman is the most badass name ever to emerge in Victoria 3
Politely requesting a Zulu game where South Africa and Great Britain are made to feel the Bull's Loins as you prove that, when it comes to Zulu, it's Shaka Can not Shaka Can't.
This is probably one of the only safe African starts, so long as the US doesn't like you enough to annex you. You did it as a meme, but honestly could probably make this start really strong
This is a world I really wanna see more of. Like, what do the two World Wars look like with a syndicalist America and Liberia as arguably the strongest democracy in the world?
@@Djentle-Rain considering how aggressive they banned slavery(and asked for war reps), they might get involved quickly. The syndicalist america will get involved to try and remanifest destiny on liberia as well.
If you like building something strong from scratch I can only think of one out of pocket idea Play as a released Wales, unleash the dragon and build a coal empire
I'm gonna be honest: from an IRL standpoint, I enjoy the concept of what Liberia was meant to achieve. Tho, it was very inefficient at the outset and not properly supported initially. It still has a very American-inspired culture, which I think is also unfortunate because they could be so much more unique than that. From what I've been reading, they also don't have very good relationships with the other African countries-continuous political conflict-which is incredibly unfortunate for them, and I hope they get a lot more support.
Idk about "what Liberia was meant to achieve" though. It was a 19th century racist idea to send black Americans "back" to Africa. Of course the relations with the indigenous Africans weren't good. Why would they be? Foreigners were invading their land!
I mean, I don't really like the idea that it was *meant* to achieve much - it was well-meaning but ignorant and happened because of a common belief at the time that a multiracial society was impossible without the black population violently taking out their valid grievances on the white one. They were probably better than most abolitionists that believed the right things but took no action to alleviate the suffering of slaves, but they didn't really spare much of a thought for the fact that the land they were colonizing already had a population of 'Africans' that had literally nothing in common with these people and that the freed slaves would have access to vastly superior technology and resources that they used to brutally oppress them for basically the country's entire existence. In 1990 they still had unfree labour taking place on incredibly exploitative and dangerous plantations. It's like they learned *all* the wrong lessons from America
These videos take a long time to make and get out there, but honestly they are the best Paradox videos out there, from Ck3 to Vic 3, to hoI4 to Stellaris, I'd watch whatever video you made in this format. It's just such a good format my man. You are one of the very few instant clicks on YT for me. Keep up the good work.
29:55 Hong Xiuquan, the founder of the Taiping Rebellion that succeded in this playtrought viewed Manchus as demons, so thats why they all fled the Africa
This was great! Play as Krakow and breakout from Austria and then... dealer's choice? Modern Poland? Pol+Lit? Go SE and see how far it's possible to get into ME?
this come late but id love to see anarchist finland run in vic3:3 Another interesting would be taking uk or germany back into feudalism with rest of the world.
Just got Victoria 3 and have absolutely no idea what im doing, the tutorial barely explains anything lol I got CK3 a while back too and have no idea what im doing on that game either. HOI4 is so much more straight forwards
Hello mister Alzabo and happy Thursday. Would be great to see you do an vicky3 island challenge. Could start as Madgascar or Cuba or w/e and then conquer all the islands in the world
You should play as the East Indies. Don’t form Indonesia. You’ll be able to get #1 GDP even if you limit yourself to the Indonesia region. The difficulty comes from being an occupier under a (usually) weak nation.
The beaty of Victoria 3, a game where endgame is always to leave the most pops possible with best outcome possible as it gives you the biggest economy and fastest research.
So, in other words, the secret to success as a nation is to try to improve the lives of as many of your people as possible? Frankly, that's pretty based.
Id prefer anything over victoria, good game, personally don’t like to play or watch it really. somehow my brain turned off and I watched this all. Ig if you’d have to pick a nation, Id be interested in a Iceland controlling all world oceans and stuff ya know
I don't know much about Victoria 3 but would be nice to see you take it to 2024. But knowing Paradox that may take some time for you. Still just curious to see what you would do and how the world would look.
Liberia was one of the first African countries to ban slavery much of Europe already having banned it in there home countries. Also one of Liberias presidents who peacefully convinced tribes to get rid of slavery and then convinced the tribes to join the country of Liberia all well still being a considered a U.S. colony.
I need to try v2! The only westernization mechanic Ive seen in PDX games is the old one from eu4, I think they patched it out once institutions became a part of the game
@@AlzaboHD If you're really interested I recommend installing the "Historical Project Mod" to fix the sphere good duplication and get an enhanced vanilla experience (It also adds a couple steps to westernization where you have to invite foreign experts to reform your military and economy) You can also add the "Historical Flavour Mod" for trade companies and more formable countries and tags
Considering how infuriatingly bad the combat system is in Victoria 3, I bet you developed PSTD from save-scumming/exploiting through all these wars, with a much smaller military...
I honestly wish Paradox would make "ledger" (or however the source of global information is called in Victoria, I'm Eu4 enthusiast) into pure gameplay mechanic, rather than kind of meta-play. I know it's a balancing act for all-knowing AI, but it always breaks my immersion that some small country on the next continent has access to extremely precise information about nation with no spies inside, nor other means of actually securing valuable intel.
