OMG @JaymesMansfield Its crazy how far you've come! I LIIIVVVEEE every time I see a new video from you! Thanks for all the FAB quarantine content! You're knowledge of old Hollywood is ASTOUNDING!!! Ms. Mansfield you are the bees knees!!!
I just love when you teach the children about Legends like Marilyn. It's shocking to think that there's people that didn't even know who she was and even worse that believed she was who she was portrayed to be. I must admit did I agree with you that hers was one of the most heartbreaking stories of old Hollywood. BTW I just love you in that short sassy wig. It really is extremely flattering.
I could seriously listen to Jaymes talk for hours, she's so relaxing and captivating. How much do I have to pay for a podcast where each episode is just an hour-long talk about culture and history 😭
I'm glad to see someone else has the same feelings about Marilyn. Her story is super depressing; I stopped idolizing her for her "bombshell beauty" once I saw everything she endured for it. Really entertaining video, though! Wig looks great!
You’re quickly becoming one of my favourite youtubers, your videos are so relaxing and easy to watch. They feel like you’re just chatting to a friend, but a friend who’s really knowledgeable and always teaches you something new.
Oh god I remember that wig!! In the early 2010s I had almost no money for drag so I relied on Party City wigs and this was one of their (this is laughable) premium Marilyn wigs 🤣🤣🤣🤣
It touches my heart that Jaymes draws attention to iconic Hollywood women who weren’t fully appreciated in their time (and sadly perhaps still isn’t) and talks about them with such fondness and respect. I love Jaymes so so much.
I have a sleep disorder because of stress, but watching your videos made me feel so relaxed and safe, i just slept through 5 hours in the afternoon. Thank you!! Also the wigs you make are obviously amazing too. But your Vibes are just. Immaculate.
Ok, hear me out... You should do more videos like this 😍. Hearing you talk about the history of Marilyn Monroe whilst styling her wig was everything!!! I'd love to see you do more history style videos on Hollywood actresses through the ages, styling wigs inspired by them and talking about their lives. idk, just a thought...LY!❤️
I love just listening to Jaymes and found the whole history of Marilyn fascinating. I literally made a cup of coffee and settled in, and thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you for making these videos!!
A funny factoid I noticed, there are lighting fixtures from an episode of The Next Generation (Star Trek) that were used in a Friends episode (the one where Joey buys all the super expensive furniture). I love noticing things like that, like reuse of sets and props in creative ways, I absolutely love props and set design in movies and tv shows.
Oooh me too I was obsessed with Miss Monroe..had bedding ..photos...bus stop poster was my ultimate fave..as I got older I feĺl for Theda Barlow...and Tallulah Bankhead xxx
I loooooove don’t bother to knock. The hotel room scene of her crying at the window while (in her head) hearing the bomber planes crashing is so sad but AMAZINGLY acted by her.
Jaymes I love all the info tid bits you added to this video. I usually watch to just hear critique on wigs but honestly the info was really cool. Thank you!!!
Thank you Jaymes for all of these uploads the past couple days, I've been feeling so down and have been stuck in a rut but it's nice to watch your videos and feel like I'm having a conversation with an old friend
You are an absolute wiggotry GODDESS! I'm constantly learning new techniques and tricks from you, even after 25+ years of self-taught wigging myself. 😊 Thank you for your service. 🙌 💘
I would love like a series of Jaymes styling different historical and pop culture figures wigs, but talking about their history and biography, like Princess Diana, Marie Antoniette, wig and talking about the "evolution of" kinda video.
Today was the worst busy endless day and now I'm here and, ahhhh.... everything changes. Just listening to your voice, sister. Realizing I need to re-watch your Drag HerStory series. Thank you!
I love when you try the wigs on out of the package and this one had me howling 😆 Have you considered styling any Valley of the Dolls looks? 60s glamour was the best! Love you
Jaymes, such a delight. You're so lovely and funny! " For your No No bits!" LMAO! And you're so great at restyling these wigs and bringing them to life! Also I just love your side conversation about what you're watching on Netflix. I can tell I would love to be your friend in and out of drag just because you seem like a really awesome person. Sweet soul. I think that's what keeps people coming back to your channel. We were all rooting for you on The Race, but I think we're really just rooting for you in Life. Keep up the amazing work with producing new content and being your best self. Thank You Jaymes!
Giving me early Sylvia Fine vibes!!!! 😂 Ooohhh, speaking of Judy... I would LOVE to see you recreate Judy’s hairstyle towards the end, circa The Judy Garland Show! The cute, short coif! 😍 or definitely a little Meet me in St. Louis moment!
My favorite Monroe line is “ and his eyes bulged like the creature of the Black Lagoon !” . From the Seven Year Itch . I just love the way she looks and the way she says that ! Your wig looks snatched love it!
Look at you, Miss Jaymes... I mean, Marilyn😆 Your skill in styling wigs has grown by leaps and bounds, and you’re just KILLING IT confidently turning out truly gorgeous hairstyles from all types of wigs!
I really loved the storytime about marilyns history during this! A series where you recreate old actresses famous hairdos with their backstory would be so cool!
Your knowledge of Hollywood starlets is for our history lessons while you do hair! I love Marilyn. She's my favorite old Hollywood starlet because I can relate to her so much. The wanting to be taken seriously, not wanting to just be seen as people have perceived you on the outside, and the serious mental health struggle- I just feel a kinship with this woman.
Jaymes, I just wanted to say Thank you for making these fun videos. In these days we live we all need a bit of entertainment and fun and you provide both! sending a tip now! xoxo
wow thank you so much for making these videos ! i thought i was good at doing wigs but this... wow i NEVER thought you could do ANYTHING with wigs like this... like the hairline you created, just HOW ??? beyond amazing !!!
OMG I LOVE IT!!!👍👍👍💋💋💋. It somewhat reminds me of the wigs Fran Descher’s mother wore on The Nanny!! I always wanted to wear those when I was little LMAO💋😭😭😭🤣👠. Xoxo
Sooooooo freaking excited. Marilyn is my FAVORITE. I worked at party city and I was in charge of displaying the wigs on the back wall and I was up there forever styling her wig and actually turned out to be a good seller because how it looked on the wall. Couldn’t display our Norma Jean in a inappropriate state.
I've always thought with interest about Mae Wests opinion of Marilyn (as well as some of the other 50s bombshells you mentioned): "she's OK, if you like copycats"!
