Seems everybody now wants a house that's all done and decorated, but where am I in all that? I don't mind a little bit of redo. (Reflective price, of course) I want it to look like my house, not everybody else's in the world. Sameness is boring to me.
When I see a house that is leaves a lot to be desired esthetically, I know that it would be a good opportunity. As long as it's not major stuff like foundational issues. I live in Toronto where this show was made in 2009. In 2024, the houses are generally staged really well because the seller would be crazy not to do that.(When we bought our house in 2000, houses were NOT staged lol) Sellers were naive at that time. The profit difference between staged/not staged is huge.
This was from a while back. As of today, there is an identical house for sale for $1,199,000. I know the neighborhood. There's been a boom in southern Ontario real estate, and the homes shown have gone up by 3X, and prices in my area alone have gone up 10 fold since we bought in 2000. I love her ideas, and anyone can replicate them themselves. It's really hard to see your home the way others do, so the show helps a lot.
That's what I thought. The prices of homes have skyrocketed like crazy. Sofie and her team have fab ideas. It's fun and informative to see the improvements of properties. Gives me great ideas. *Have a good, relaxing evening.*
Housing prices have gone up all around the world. 13 years ago I moved into the upstairs flat of this tiny 530ft² house built in 1954. When I started thinking about buying it (~10 years ago) I was hoping to get it for under 100,000€. Last month the sale was finalised for 320,000€, which is under the market price.
Sofie Allsop is great. I only just have been introduced and a huge fan of her sister Kirstie Allsop and Phil Spencer. At first sight, I thought that Sofie was actually Kirstie. 🙏❤️🩵💜
Oh 😔 I get that the house wasn’t the same after losing their beloved chocolate Labradorable Kylie. I would feel the same way. It would be a hard decision to sell because of the memories but I also feel they don’t feel the same living there now.
I understand the loss of your pet would be sad. Imagine losing your parents, both in the same year, only 6 months apart. It's beyond heartbreaking and unbearable 💔 😢 We will never get past this.
