Transhumanism 

Transhumanism is not generally considered a literary theory.
But with approaches ranging from cyberborg feminism to transgenderism to "the radical alterations in the nature and possibilities of our lives resulting from various sciences and technologies such as neuroscience and neuropharmacology, life extension, nanotechnology, artificial ultraintelligence, and space habitation", it has nonetheless moved into the space that the humanities once occupied, at least before postmodern literary theories.
This is a wide-ranging discussion that looks at reestablishing human personhood in the humanities disciplines as a way of address the anti-humanism of postmodern literary theories, as well as the challenges now posed by transhumanism and posthumanism.
