Transistor Original Soundtrack - In Circles 

I spent like an hour listening this song, while bouncing the ball around with Luna.

Six years on, this is still one of my favorite songs in the world.

Now imagine reaching the boss _without_ knowing you don't die until all your functions overloads, and being at a few pixels of health left. And then the chorus just *hits.* Shook? Nah, I was probably crying of absolute fear at that point.

That music in the sandbox while looking at the sky... Best thing ever

I was excitedly talking to a friend about how powerful a lyric "...but I wont save you" is. It's vastly different than I /can't/ save you. WONT implies that the person is perfectly capable of saving the person, but they actively CHOOSE not to, and that's a heavy notion right there. It pangs of hate. The rest of the lyrics almost suggest pity, but the WONT in "I won't save you" as opposed to "I can't save you" carries a heavy feeling to it. I'm only half way through the game so I can't tell how true this is, but this if the feeling I got when I played the Sybil stage. Not even entirely sure of who isn't saving whom but it's an extremely exciting notion.

I'm sure there are comments about it, but the subtlety, control, and then explosive power of Ashley's vocal performance is incredible Like, the way the vibrato is placed, and the pronunciation is so ecovative. One example of pronunciation is the final "save you". She sounds like she's writing the listener off for good

From what I can tell, Red wrote this song specifically to address Sybil. *She noticed Sybil's feelings (I hear you buzzing... just trying to land - Sybil wants Red and tries to stay around her) *Red doesn't return them and feels bad for Sybil (I see you hurting, I do what I can) *Sybil is in turmoil, but Red is telling her she won't be the one to fulfil her life (I won't save you) *Sybil blamed Mr. Nobody for Red's distance (maybe you're looking for someone to blame) *Red tries to let Sybil down gently and reassure her that she'll find someone else (never be sorry for your little time... it's always the climb) This song is running through Red's head during the boss fight - in spite of everything, she feels some pity for Sybil's horrible condition, but can only put her out of her misery.

Here's an interesting theory about In Circles and _n C_rcl_s. They play during the Sybil boss fight, In Circles being the first stage, _n C_rcl_s being the third, and a halfway point for the second stage. Well during the boss battle I noticed a difference on the elongated "I won't save you.". But first, some ideas. In Circles is Red "singing" to Sybil. The lyrics do make sense. And _n C_rcl_s is Sybil singing to Red. Since it's processed. When I listen to _n C_rcl_s I don't hear "but I-I-I-I wo-o-o-o-n't save yo-o-o-o-u" I hear "but I'll save you". The "won't" becomes distorted enough to sound like a part of "I" changing the sentence. So when Sybil sings to Red, she means she'll save her, perhaps Sybil was just trying to use her last string of sanity to take the transistor and absorb Red, saving her from the Process. Or maybe it can refer to Help (). IDK man, it's just a theory, A THEORY ABOUT A GAME! If only there was an easier way to say that... hm.

No idea if anyone is still in this comment section, but I've recently played this game for the first time (loved both Bastion and Hades, so I thought I'd try Transistor too) and Sybil's boss fight will stick with me for a while. I struggled with this more than any other encounter in the game, because of how new I was to the combat system. Half of my functions were gone by the end of this fight in my first playthrough. It's also one of the most powerful parts of the entire story. An encounter with Sybil could've easily been the endboss fight, with how much story there is between her and Red. More so than with any other member of the Camerata. She's responsible for everything that's happened. She picked Red as a target and lied to them that she's going to be alone. Also, that transition from Red's singing to the distorted version of the song gave me goosebumps. The song as presented in the boss battle perfectly loops around the entirety of Transistor's story; it speaks of the very beginning where Red rejected Sybil's advances, it shows how the entire city gradually got processed and the "I won't save you" line perfectly foreshadows the ending. Her word choice of CAN'T rather than WON'T makes a lot of sense in context of her final decision. Now that I think of it... I think that's why they chose to put this sequence near the start of the game.

When I asked my friend if he listened to this song in game alredy? He normally replied. "When I go in the hub area the first thing I do is move to the jukebox and turn the music to in circles."

Oh my gosh... I think I just got it! When the Camerata stole Red's voice, they didn't just steal it. They *used* it. During the Sybil Reisz battle, she was using Red's music and voice to distract her. Maybe this was even Sybil singing with Red's voice... that would explain the content! Sybil was taunting Red with her own voice, telling her over and over again that she was to die on the set after all. The song became warped as "_n C_rcl_s" because, as Sybil was dying due to her injuries and Process takeover, "her" voice began to fail along with her body!

I just finished it for the first time... There were damned tears in my eyes at the end ...

So much emotion in this. The "Processed" Version is by far my favorite. Red and Sybil doing the "duet" has so much emotion. I swear i fall in love with both characters even more whenever i hear this song :)

The deed was done, trapped in blade, Never to release, no hope and prayed. Turn in circle for an easy solution, But tragic find the only conclusion. Matter to restore the soulful trap, Who blame the deeds, ambition strap. Deceit so sweet to carry them on, For the final, ending, gone.

I've never played Transistor but this song sounds like it's sung by the villain. Specifically a villain that's infiltrated the protagonist's camp and they don't know it until they're in peril, and this villain shows their true colours. This song is that exact moment when they walk away leaving the protagonist at the cliff to fall, smiling.

This and Paper Boats are easily my favorites from this game. Such a good soundtrack, I love Ashley's voice!

It been few weeks i finished this game but i keep listening Red's Songs, its hard to fill the emptiness a good game with good romance, fitting atmospheric music, story and gameplay basicly its perfect. There is not enough romance in games, even i am just ok with it being a subplot.

I bought the game on the ps4. Beat it 2 times. Today I bought it on the Nintendo Switch with Bastion. I like to support developers that have passion for what they do and Supergiant games clearly have. Can't wait for the next game.

Screw it. Just want to say, that this game and this soundtrack shattered my toxic masculinity into smallest splinters. This thing legit made me cry. A lot. What a journey.

I dunno if it's sad that I have actually connected to this song beyond the game, or if it's a good thing. This song puts me in a dark place that feels familiar and comfortable, but at the same time dangerous and cold. It reminds me... of a bad time...

honestly the voice actress for this game is amazing and it wouldn't be the same at all without her, what i feel from these songs brings me to tears

I always struggle with putting people out of their misery in games. And as she crawled toward me after our fight, Sybil was no different.

Beat Transistor last night. Wow. I'd already watched a whole play through of it, but playing it for yourself really gets you engaged.

I bought this game 2 days ago and when I reached the ending, I literally cried for 30 minutes... It was just so sweet as sad... Couldn't deal at all.

Man, I have already finished two playthroughs, completed all Steam achievements, and reached max level but this soundtrack still makes me want to play the game more. Superb work Darren Korb and Ashley Barrett and just an all around excellent accomplishment Supergiant Games!

Song is about going through the pain and not jumping to the next chapter of your life. You have to do it by yourself, "It's not when you get there, It's always the climb." The main point is that your experience is what matters most. Not cheat codes and getting everything you wanted from someone. Maybe you'll see someone struggling in life and you are trying to help them, but won't save them, because they have to experience it, they have to go through the pain, because when they get there again they'll know what to do. Besides, without knowing the path they can't help others. They need to know how to do it._ I'll help you, but I won't save you. You have to do it by yourself, you have to learn, so you can always be awake, so you can help others too.

I've had this on a loop for hours. This game is one of my favorites. I love the dark-ish story, the gameplay and the message. And the music is so good. I'm so hyped to try out Hades soon, too. Once I saved enough money to buy it haha

Frankly, fighting Sybil is the only boss battle that Supergiants managed to paint a very beautiful picture with its music, voice acting and the use of grim and dark color. That said, I nearly couldn't recall there was any other "boss" battle in transistor that produced as much emotional impact. The spine was not related to the story. The minions were uninspiring and non-interactive. The last boss, Royce, was not a very developed character and he is purely a uninteresting nihilist whose story didn't even cross with Red before all this shit. Sybil was the only antagonist that had some tragic elements, which makes fighting her so memorable.

This game should be more famous than it is, the music is just perfect. I just start the game like three days ago, and the music make feel like that world is real, like you are already there.

I once had an OC for Fire Emblem :Awakening to replace the generic Robin. His name was Issac But I had a problem deciding his origins. I loved bastion a lot, but that universe was used for another one of my fan-stories. When I saw the Reveal trailer for Transistor, It was an instant decision that Cloudbank would be his birthplace. Isaac deeply admired Red when he went to one of her concerts and developed a massive crush oh her before one day falling into the Fire Emblem world (and getting amnesia). For most of the Fire Emblem part, it stayed the same, except a few (spoiler-bound) changes, like the "Big Bad" and Isaac's destiny and all that. Every once in a while, he'd sing "We all become". Issac/Robin never married and was hell bent on getting back to Cloudbank, and when he DID find a way back, Chrom left the kingdom in the care of *spoiler* and accompanied him. because their bond was THAT deep. Chrom wanted to see the woman that made Issac/Robin the man he is. Issac/Robin and Chrom arrive in Cloudbank and find it being taken by the Process, Their journey through the city takes place between just before "The Spine" and after the ending. When Isaac/Robin finally finds Red, ...it all sinks in... Isaac was there for Chrom's "despair event horizon" when *spoiler*, but it's not gonna be easy for Chrom

Just come back to play Transistor again after 2 years (which I completed 100% achievements). Damn, it still touches my soul like the first time. Such a simple game - yet so brilliant.

Ya know what's weird, loving a game and the music and able to love them separately themselves. Like, "In Circles" didn't need to be in this game and would still be amazing.

I bought the game four days ago, not knowing what I was getting into. When the first boss fight arrived I was like "Oh. Boss fight. Let's do th--" Then the music kicked in and I was like "Okay. Fight or hum the song. One has to choose..." And I apparently chose to hum the song over fighting since I kept dashing away from Sybil
