i frequently come back to this video as it has a lot, i mean a lot of useful advice and tips to incorporate into work organisation planning and project management. everyone in every tier should take note!! i’m not sure if you still use this system, but it would be so amazing to see an updated work bullet journal or work planning system of yours 🙋🏻‍♀️

Thanks, Su-I’m so happy to hear it’s been that useful to you! 😊 I still use a lot of these techniques but switched to a digital format using OneNote to keep up with an increasing workload; my personal planner is still analog. This has worked out better for now because I’ve created reusable templates for my BuJo sections, meetings, and scrum teams that I can quickly search and locate information as well as easily share leveraging the integration between other Microsoft Office programs I use for work. I plan to do an updated video sharing my latest system as soon as time and personal bandwidth allow.🤞Thanks again for rewatching! ❤️

A real bullet journal channel. No I don’t draw or fawn over sticker packs. It doesn’t look pretty but it helps me in my life! Thanks for bringing bullet journaling back to basics. I love your ideas. Your channel rocks!

Great channel, and new subscriber. Thanks for all you do. Quite inspiring, and being a guy I find it hard to really "journal" about anything, but its somewhat become a way to just keep track of notes on a daily basis for work, to do list for daily tasks, and a comparison of what got done on the to do list and what was added at the last moment due to emergency or management needing something done right away, regardless though, really enjoying your channel. Thank you. Also, in another of your videos you mentioned one of your journals that came from Joey, if I recall, anyways I had checked out his page in the link you had and it seems his last time on his site was late 2017 :(. Loved that journal setup and was really wanting to buy one, but sadly I assume his health was taking its tole by then and he's no longer in business, very sad to see someone that did a great job at making journal covers have to leave his work.

How much time have you got? 😂 I’m also an IT Professional (20+ yrs) and have had quite the journey that started back in the days of the Palm Pilot! Check out my blog under the category ‘Technology’, specifically my “Write it Down or Power it Up?” blog series where I put paper against tech. My first WIDoPIU post ‘My Primary Planner’ is where I share how different life events and milestones over the years caused me to go digital, paper, or both-there’s also an awesome pic of my PDA graveyard!-(personal digital assistants before they became known as smartphones). I’ve also covered the topic in my ‘When You’re too busy to Plan” blog series and also “Using Color Coding at the Office” post. Lastly, all my “work bullet journal” videos covers IT project planning. Right now, I’m swamped at work with a huge software project so I had to go back to digital for personal/family planning (I’m a mobile apps junkie) and using both paper and tech for work-also why I haven’t been blogging or posting videos but I’m working on coming back soon! I really get a lot from your videos; thank you for being so generous in your sharing. Question: do you struggle much with duplicating tasks/notes/etc? For instance, the difference between Pending and Communication Log... If I'm waiting to hear from Supervisor about a specific question/issue, do I put it in Pending list, Communication Log, or both? In general, I think that I put things on the most specific page... Pending is more general, Comm Log is more specific (to one person)... how do you manage that type of thing? I really want to avoid duplication, so that's a primary consideration.

Thanks--I'm glad you find these videos helpful. 😊 That's a great question! My Pending Log is for items I'm waiting on that either do not have a defined due date or are from contacts/teams I don't talk to frequently (you know who they are, they say something like "I'll have to take this back to my team and get back to you." or when something is being circulated for review and approvals among several people that may take some time). My Communications Log are for contacts I deal with regularly so these items don't typically fall thru the cracks since I can nag them when I see them. 😉 Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

Lil Divette, Makes sense. Pending items with an actual due date... How do you capture that date? Calendar? Due dates notedvon Pending page? Something else?

If I'm lucky enough to get a due date, I'll include it with the note in parentheses so I know when I can 'bother' them again. In a nutshell, your original logic was correct. 👍

Lil Divette Cool, thx. In several iterations of a bullet journal, the main problem I've had is losing captured facts/dates/deliverables somewhere in my traveler's notebook, or failing to capture them at all. I think I need to keep at it, and get some habits and routines solidified. Thanks again for your videos and insights.

I understand; I had the same problem. Originally I was Daytimers user for years, then switched to Franklin Covey, then figured out how to make the bullet journal work for me. Check out my other videos--currently there's 3, all linked in the Cards in this video--where I share a full in depth view of the layouts I created for work to manage multiple projects and some additional tips/techniques I use to make my bullet journal more effective and compensate for what it lacked. Good luck in finding a system that works for you!

what is the size of the smaller journal you are referring to? The cover looks a little larger than the inserts, but it looks like it works well. I would love to know the journal size and the insert size of that smaller notebook. Thanks so much.

Welcome back! 😊 The Leuchtturm is an A5 size (approximately 5.83” x 8.27”) and the booklets are cahier/extra wide (approximately 5” x 8.25). HTH!

Hi, it's your biggest fan, so i am going on 3 weeks as a PO. I am PO for one database with multiple and ongoing enhancements. So I get totally why you switched notebooks. I did the set up extacly as you described in your other videos. And it's very true the meeting minutes take up alot of pages. I love love love, the journal but I think with this new video you uploaded is worth a try. So as a Fan, I ordered the notebooks. I was in the leadership meeting and I had so many notes I couldn't spit out the information needed. Keeping the meeting notes separated might help. Also i am trying to reduce the weight. This big journal is very heavy. In love, with the process. Do you use a notebook for your user stories?. Just curious.😊

Hey Goddess Valentina--love the name! Now that I'm finishing up my larger journal (600 pages) I've discovered it's both a blessing and a curse. I have everything for my current projects together in one place--from Nov 2016 thru Apr 2018--but it's BIG. I'm looking forward to a slimmer setup. The Miquel Rius journals are great--I have another I use as a art sketch book--but for work, perhaps it would work better as a stationary notetaker (stays at your desk) or if you wanted to just use it for tracking the user stories--at my job, we use a software tool designed to manage Agile Scrum projects which works better for me in my Scrum Master role. Hope the new setup works out for you and good luck with your project! 📚
