I love how you value your students and what they can teach you. I am going to read tongue tied and speaking spanglish, thank you. What do you think about helping students overcome some negative education experience?

You can’t undo a negative experience, but you can create a positive one. Teaching is relational-and if you take interest in a student and actively build trust, I think that is a good start.

You focused on Spanglish. What about other languages like Russian, Arabic, or Japanese? How does translanguaging work? Do the teachers have to be knowledgeable in these languages to understand beginner students?
