Hey how did you drop the front drive line? The front driveline is spinning for me when I try to remove the bolts. I've got a 93 tracker, in 2hi, parking break engaged
My 96 tracker is having shifting problems as well. Before I change the fluid and filter I wanted to rule out my vacuum modulator hose. At the moment mine is not hooked up to anything. Does yours connect somewhere on the intake manifold to maintain a vacuum?
Have you had any problems with the TV cable? Seems like it's a hard cable to find online to replace. I drove 600 miles to repair my father's tracker because it hadn't ran in almost 3 years and mechanic's told him he needed a new control module and timing belt service. Which it didn't, because he had the timing belt done 3 months before it broke down, but he didn't remember. I didn't want him to be taken advantage of and if the board had issues I knew I could repair it with literally 7 dollars in resistors and capacitors. Sure enough it wasn't the board or timing, it was the Cam sensor and corrosion on other connectors and all 16 valves were out of adjustment. I put on new hoses, adjusted valves, replaced water pump, thermostat, fuel filter, Cam sensor, new plugs, cleaned evap system, replaced gaskets, front and rear Cam seals and the tracker fired right up and then I was able to adjust the RPM's and timing. The only problem I had was a shifting issue like yours and I determined that the TV cable was beyond adjustment and needed to be replaced but I didn't have time. Hard to find much information on them.
I have not had an issue with that to my knowledge. I did see that zukiworld.com has a write up on adjustment. Try Trail Tough if you are looking for a replacement they can get alot of stuff.
No drain plug in the pan and I didn't want to hassle with trying to pump it out the dipstick. If I would have removed the driveline first it definitely wouldn't have been so bad.
I sat here and watched you and i didn't say anything, even though I knew you needed to drop that drive line. sorry. none the less we learn better if we see a mistake and so the video is more helpful if we can see how it impacts the job being in the way.
Like I always say I am not a mechanic. Most of these things I just hit record and start. I dont cut out my mistakes that way others can learn. Your comment made me laugh out loud.
