instead of waxed paper I use cereal bags from boxes of cereal. I also use the bags from cookies that are also in boxes. I get one kind that gives me a real nice clear bag I can use for windows and clear envelopes.
What a great idea! I am thinking I might just start with a large square of wax paper, collage and stamp it and then just cut different widths of strips for my “washi tape.”
I just came across your channel as I was looking for ideas for scrapbooky kind of recipe book to do for my sister. She loves baking. I never left,3 hours later! I loved your creativity!! You are so creative and have a very good eye for matching things. I noticed you tend to like earth tones. I am very drawn to those colours too. God bless you and yours. Keep on keeping on!
These are so cute but I think it would be so much easier and cost effective to use clear contact paper from the Dollar Tree or Walmart. If you left a little bit of room on the top and bottom you could stick the back cover to them then you could make a bunch of them ahead of time and they’d be protected. Just my thoughts, I think I’m going to give it a try myself with paper, fabric and dried flowers & leaves
Yes, Gi Kerr is not currently shipping to USA due to cost and length of time. My husband said the ships from China are sitting off port with no way to unload and not enough trucks or truckers to drive it to the locations. Very bad because you can’t get the items needed. Not just crafts. Glitter glue on Amazon running 12 weeks to ship which is too bad for those who live in cold climates 😞
Oh boy, another project I HAVE to try. Like you, I was thinking I don't know about this, but as soon as the stamp hit the paper I was in love. #3 is my favorite. God job!
Hello lovely Melina. I’m actually doing this right now. I got my bits all together along with stamp w script, circles, watercolor paint off papers some tiny diecut flowers 🌸 in different colors I’m using elmers craft bond extra strength glue stick working great. I’m thankful you made it back home safe and sound. Again, so sorry for your loss. Hugs. 💕🍂🍂
These are really nice and I like the idea of using wax paper more than packing tape. I may have to try with deli paper since I don’t have any wax paper right now. How are you going to use the strips? Are you going to further divide the strips by cutting lengthwise more? Will you use for edges in junk journals or on cards? I’m just curious. Thanks in advance.
Hi! In the very next video after this one, I use these. I like to add them as decoration to the edge of a journal page. Cut them up and add them as decoration to pockets and tags. Etc.
This looks like so much fun. You always make things look so quick & easy. To Another crafter I watch often uses glue sticks. Instead of laying the small pieces down to rub glue stick on the back, she stands the glue stick up & rubs the small pieces over the glue. That way she doesn't have to peel the small pieces off a gluey mat. 🤗
These look really great, and what an inspired idea to use wax paper! Now, to stick the whole thing onto a journal page or whatever, would you use gluestick? I'd be afraid to use wet glue and just have the whole thing get too wet and rip. What do you think? I'm a new subscriber! Come check out my channel--I do Rachel's challenges too!
Well.......doubter pants......it worked very well for me. I still have some of this roll left in my stash and everything is still stuck to the wax paper. So there you go.
I'm not sure why, but I truly love making these! I haven't had the chance to make much of anything in quite a while, but these are one of my favorite things to make!
Couldn’t you use a LARGE sheet of wax paper to make a collage mastersheet, with acrylic paint, mark-making, stenciling, pastels, liquid inks, other desired scraps of paper, and THEN cut it into strips, AND GLUE the ends of the strips together (slightly overlapping) and create your own wax paper washi ROLL?? SAME COULD BE done on all other types of transparent/thin paper-deli paper, parchment paper, tissue paper. Then you can glue it down with MATTE medium if your roll isn’t too heavy or GEL medium if your roll ends up being heavier. Yes? No? Please let me know!!!
Love love love this idea💕💕💕💕. But it makes me coo coo to watch you put your paper piece on your glue page then try to peel it up. Your putting it on top of the old glue, that’s why they are hard to get up. Lol 😂. That said, I love your channel and you are very creative and inspiring. God bless💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
Melina you never cease to amaze me! I have been binge watching your videos and enjoying the heck out of them. I love all your scrap busters. I love your "southernness" because I'm from Louisiana.
Oh my gosh are these awesome. I haven't seen this type before so I am glad to find this. You make it look so fun and easy. THS. Will definitely be trying these. 😁👍
I anticipated that you were going to put the wax paper on top to see through. Why not just do the collage pieces on regular paper. I don't see well at all so maybe I'm just missing something others can see. 🙅
Just think of what you’d add these too. You will be able to see the beautiful patterned papers and such here and there in spots where you can see the wax paper through. It’s just a beautiful new way to display your collaging and get even more beauty through it when you apply it to your journals and scrap pages. 🙂
Hi Melina! Fairly new subscriber. Loved your creativity with this project. Did you put a layer of some type of sealant, ie Mod Podge on top to ensure scraps staying down on the wax paper?
