As all men are touched by God’s love, so all are also touched by the desire for His intimacy. No one escapes this longing; we are all kings in exile, miserable without the Infinite. Those who reject the grace of God have a desire to avoid God, as those who accept it have a desire for God. The modern atheist does not disbelieve because of his intellect, but because of his will; it is not knowledge that makes him an atheist…The denial of God springs from a man’s desire not to have a God-from his wish that there were no Justice behind the universe, so that his injustices would fear not retribution; from his desire that there be no Law, so that he may not be judged by it; from his wish that there were no Absolute Goodness, that he might go on sinning with impunity. That is why the modern atheist is always angered when he hears anything said about God and religion-he would be incapable of such a resentment if God were only a myth. His feeling toward God is the same as that which a wicked man has for one whom he has wronged: he wishes he were dead so that he could do nothing to avenge the wrong. The betrayer of friendship knows his friend exists, but he wished he did not; the post-Christian atheist knows God exists, but he desires He should not. Fulton J. Sheen, Peace of Soul

I dunno. Some Karens are formed out of feral misjudgement, and can be undone, and I think the fact that she is LITERALLY IN HELL would make more of the looser Karen knots come undone. I mean, not to be a dick for sure (because this is the exact same philosophy they are supposedly trying to avoid, which will make it worse, hence why it's counterproductive and bad) but sometimes people I've met who were bigots or helicopters over their kids about these topics were like that because they were around when even talking about it was the way to get laughed out of the social circle and they are worried that wind will blow back somehow (the same way older people still have a lower rate of mental health visits than younger adults; older adults still live with the old philosophy of admitting mental health problems is weak, despite the current one being open awareness, because a lot of them believe that perhaps someday, all of the people who admitted it are going to be ostracized again, so they want to stay out of it.) So the knot loosened here probably because she, as she said, thought she was protecting the poor kid from a situation where trans rights became open for a while, only for their son to be shunned again after all of that, and she now can't take back that mistake. It's another form of generational Hot Hand Fallacy; if there is a generational trauma, like admitting being LGBT is taboo instead of a movement or a right, then even if it changes, people tend to lean towards it will change back to the way it was and prepare for the worst. Most famous example was the Great Depression generation having a notoriously widespread habit of storing food and preparing for long periods of recession due to the ingrained fear of not having enough food or other necessities during the Great Depression, even late into their lives.

If I can't find someone to adopt that I APPROVE of (I was adopted and it was hell) then I'm going to try and raise the child myself. This just reminded me of the acceptance and support I've never had, and how if my child is anything that's a group I'm not apart of then I need to do my best to understand. Just because I'm agender, disabled, and Jewish does not mean I'm guaranteed to be prepared for anything. My child may have a disability I don't, or be something I didn't even realize existed! As a parent, you can't prepare for everything, but you can do your best when you find out and love them anyways. If you are a social parasite 🪱🦠, you suffer from the loneliness, otherwise you just wait around until you start to get used to it. I mean, being the parent of a trans child can be terrifying. Of course you're going to support them unconditionally, but you can't rely on other people to do that to. The thought of your own child contemplating suicide, or being relentlessly bullied just because of their identity can be terrifying as a parent, so I can somewhat understand why it can be hard to fully accept your child for being trans, because it can be scary. I grew up catholic, but wasnt allowed to attend church until i was 18. I found out why. The church i went to was very loving and accepting, they told me that if i wasnt meant to be trans, god wouldnt have made me trans. That if god meant for me to be a man, and something went wrong, making me trans was his next course of action. One old lady even told me "god must have wanted a man to learn what its like to be a woman so he can respect women with the level of carring and understanding as you do. He didnt make a mistake, he made you for a reason, and i know hes looking forward to meeting you." My dad just sucks and used the religion he grew up with and taught me about wrong to guilt me into hiding it. Jokes on him! Im VERY open about it!

Still, 20% of those who transition later regrets that decision, if I truly love my child I won't let him go about making that decision without me telling him that I don't agree with that decision and that I fear it might not be in his best interests. I know friends who was trans before and later left that lifestyle, I understand it is not what media and society tries to tell us, and I won't let my child do bad things to himself because I didn't step in. Loving isn't always just accepting, I can't accept my child doing things that hurts him, sometimes the loving thing is to tell the other person they might be wrong.

Lucifer, Hades, really any god of the underworld/hell was given the JOB of judging souls, and passing judgement on which were good enough to be permitted into Heaven. The Egyptian version is my favorite, where the heart of the person is weighed against the feather of Ma'at, and the heart must be lighter in order to pass on. If not, it will be eaten by Ammit, and the soul will stay 'imprisoned' and have to go through the lessons of life again. The Midnight Gospel on Netflix has a really awesome episode depicting the reincarnation cycle from that perspective, I think it's called Soul Prison (but I could be wrong). Either way, I always likened Lucifer to his name, Light Bringer, and to Prometheus, the Greek God who stole fire (wisdom, sort of like the apple in Eden) and brought it to mankind to free them from servitude under cruel gods.

I don't know if its an unpopular thought, but if your a parent with a child that may possibly be trans, I think its healthy for the child that the parents ask questions first and also pose the question of it that really the case. No hate on anybody who is trans, just a friendly reminder that kids and teenage brains are not fully developed, and that the diction making part of the brain isn't fully developed till the age of 25. fully support your children in there development of who they are becoming as people, but don't be afraid to ask questions and redirect your kids if you feel they might be going down a bad path. all that aside, happy pride to everyone and I hope everybody has more pleasant days.
@Night_Willows
@Night_Willows Год назад
I don’t really think questioning your kid is necessary, because as a minor there’s really nothing you can do gender wise that can’t be undone. It’s only really a name and pronoun change, and maybe puberty blockers. Which are completely reversible, and requires you to see a gender clinic and get asked questions to make sure this is right for you by a professional anyway. And I think if a kid thinks they’re trans and turns out not to be, being referred to as a different gender might be the best way for them to realize that they don’t really identify with it, because then they’d know it feels wrong. And it’s really easy to just switch the name and pronouns back. But from my experience I know most trans kids question themselves a lot before even considering telling their parents to make sure they’re sure about their identity, and coming out is a very nerve wracking process. And in that moment what is really just genuine questions coming from a good place can make the already nervous child feel that they’re not being accepted or taken seriously, which can take a toll on them mentally. So in my opinion it’s best to just accept them, and leave it to them to figure out later on that the identity isn’t right for them if that’s the case. Since they can’t even make any irreversible physical changes until they’re 18 and have been to a gender clinic anyway, and therefore probably very sure about it at that point. So just calling them what they wanna be called until they either get to that point or change their mind won’t hurt them at all, and it’d hurt them more not to take them seriously and act like you know their identity better than they do when they’ve already likely spent months or even years figuring themself out before telling you
@melodyvictoriea9953
@melodyvictoriea9953 Год назад
@@Night_Willows I do agree with some of your points, but. I still think parents should be allowed to ask question to there child rather than just blindly accepting it, and asking questions dose not inherently mean they are not taking the situation or the child seriously, how are they to know there child has been going through mental gymnastics for months trying to figure that out, without asking questions and communicating, and to expect your family of all people just to blindly accept something that major, is very selfish and dangerous in my opinion. I myself am not trans nor have I ever had to deal with gender dysphoria, and I'm sure I couldn't even comprehend the sheerest amount of pain and discomfort people have to go through who do, however I can do my best to empathies with them. Coming out is a very nerve recking thing to do, like you said. I know this part as I came out as BI to my family when I was 16, and the only person who accepted it was my mom, and everyone else.. well the typical "It's a phase" and "your just confused". It broke me to hear that. However, my mom on the other hand, she listened to me, she did ask me questions, some were on the day I came out, some more were periodically asked throughout some time, but after asking she made sure to let me know and remind me that she will love me and have my back no matter who or what I become or love. She asked questions because she wanted to better understand how she could help me and support me. Asking questions is important, so that parents can understand, of course if the child dose not want to be bombarded with question the day they come out that is completely understandable. However they also need to understand that questions will want to be asked sooner than later, and that this is not a major life altering change just centered around them solely. Yes, it IS about them, but lets not forget this is also a life altering moment for everyone involved, there entire family. It's not just a name change and puberty blockers, it's much bigger than that. So tell me, how can the family go through the transition and journey with them, if they aren't even allowed to ask questions so they can better understand the prosses and learn how to better support them in this big change in not only the child's life but also there life. I'm not trying to ruffle feathers here, I'm just trying to prosses and understand where your coming from, but it's difficult.

I'm nonbinary and came out when I was already an adult. As soon as I came out, I made it very clear that everyone was free to ask me anything because I wanted to avoid any misunderstandings and misconceptions. My family talked a lot with me about my gender identity, and we reflected a lot on the past. It really helped them to understand everything and respect my wish to stop calling me by birth name. I think it's fine to ask questions as long as it's done on a respectful level and the trans person in question doesn't feel like they're interrogated or feel like they have to defend themselves. But it's also important to accept it when they say "I'm not ready to talk about this in detail yet!" Coming out as trans often comes with a big package of insecurities, self-loathing and anxiety in general. Coming out is one of the most stressful things, so it's understandable if they need some time to calm down, get used to the new situation and reassuring themselves that they're not being rejected. Of course, not everyone is like that. But if there's a transperson who's clearly dealing with anxiety and insecurities, it would be better to respect their wishes and not ask further until they're ready to talk about it in detail.
@Night_Willows
@Night_Willows Год назад
@@melodyvictoriea9953 I think you misunderstand. I’m not saying you can’t ask any questions, obviously you can. Just that you shouldn’t ask questions that make it seem like you’re doubting their identity, y’know? Like, when a kid first comes out I think it’s best to show them acceptance first and foremost. You can definitely ask questions too as long as they’re okay with it, but give them time if they can’t immediately and it depends on the kind of question. Things like, ‘how long have you known?’, ‘how did you figure it out?’, etc. I think are perfectly okay. It’s more questions like ‘are you sure?’, or anything that makes it seem like you don’t believe them that I take issue with. Questions should be asked under the assumption that they are trans and we’re asking about that. Questions should not be asked to figure out if they’re really trans or not

This is actually a nice kinda wholesome varient on this. Normally I see this kinda stuff and it's all fire and brimstone, no forgiveness. But this one actually creates room for the person to grow and improve. I'm here for it.

So we aren't going to talk about how the suicide rates of people who continued on their trans journey is 20% higher than of those who chose to detransition? Just makes me wonder if their gender is actually what makes them happy
@CassieIsGae

What makes me happy is seeing trans rights be given back because in a lot of the world it's being taken away

50% of trans people experience some form of sexual assault in their lifetime and are 4 times more likely to be the victim of a violent crime. its fully possible that 20% is a traumatic experience/not being accepted. sometimes it's just easier to hide who you are
@redloona1085
@redloona1085 Год назад
yeah because those who keept on their transition suicided due to so much harrassment, cyber-bullying, bullying in general and overall judgemental people while people who de-transitioned just realized that in their own opinion, they liked it better before.
@guessimshakespeare7736
@guessimshakespeare7736 Год назад
@@redloona1085where is the harassment? I haven’t seen one malicious comment on this video, so I’m just kind of confused. Sure, there are some people saying that they aren’t for transitioning, but is that not them just sharing an opinion? They aren’t saying anything mean about it from what I’ve seen.

Nah. You cant just accept anything that they do. It permanently damages your body when you use hormone blocking pills. Kids should not be able to make that decision ever. Same for them thinking theyre the other gender. They're not even 18 yet and Tiktok and other social medias are shoving the choice of "being whatever you want to be" down their throats. You guys have to stop being so entitled. Just because you think you are a female doesn't mean you are one. You shouldn't get sad when someone doesn't call you what you believe.

Stay strong, all. Wherever you are, whoever you identify as, you matter. Transgender, gay, lesbian, bi, however you identify, be you! The true you! Because that's the best you that you can be. Be true to yourself, stay strong, and never let anyone hold you down, put you down, or tell you that you are unworthy of happiness and love. Don't let anyone tell you that you don't deserve to be treated with love and respect, or that you will be punished in hell for being LGBTQ+. If no one else will, love yourself. And remember, YOU DESERVE THE BEST! Stay respectful, stay strong, and LET'S MAKE SH*T HAPPEN!
